I'm sure I'm gonna get Diamond when it comes out. Then, after I beat it I'll get Pearl. It's so hard to chose which one to get!
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl
-
-
Diamond has Scyther…...Pearl doesn't.
im getting Diamond
-
I'm going for Pearl, the water-dragon legendary is very awesome, plus I want Stantler and the Misdreavus evolution. My younger brother will get Diamond probably, so we can trade for the Pokemon we can't get (like the Murkrow evolution, which looks like it doesn't suck too much, seeing as Murkrow is a terrbile Pokemon).
-
a few questions
in terms of Pokedex will it be like all the pokemon or will it be like Red/blue(GB versions) where you have to trade to get a few pokemon?
2. when in this coming out in stores? -
It's out on April 22. As for the Pokedex, I have no idea. But hopefully it'll be improved by using the touch screen.
-
Some pokemon need to be traded to get them, but I'm pretty sure most non-legendary pokemon (from all four generations) are available in the two games in some catchable form.
-
You can trade with WiFI now, so it's alot easier to catch em all. So I say get which version you want, you'll probably find the other pokemon from the version you don't have eventually.
-
Problem is my Wifi never works…. :(
-

oh ya?
luckily I preorderd diamond then : ) -
They should make a way to import pokemon from the other 3 generations into diamond and pearl.
-
^ You can tho….you can trade em from Leaf Green, Fire Red, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald I believe.
-
Yeah. Even better, you put the GBA versions into the Gameboy Slot of the DS and manually trade. No more borrowing your friends DS to "catch 'em all". Brilliant idea, by the way.
-

Another cool feature is that depending on which GBA Pokemon Game you have inserted in the slot while you play influences the apperance of certain wild pokemon while you play.
-
The one thing I'm disappointed about with the DS/GBA system is that it's one-way, so you can't transfer Pokemon from the first second and third generations onto the GBA games. The one other thing I'm a little upset about is that you can't go back to any of the previous regions, but I guess that including that would've been too awesome.
Huh. Gold and Silver had both of those features, didn't they?
-
I think crystal had that feature…. will it also be like red/green battling?(wireless in the games)
because I dont have wifi so I hope thats not the only way to battle
-
Huh. Gold and Silver had both of those features, didn't they?
Gold and Silver were "TOO" amazing. I would really love a DS port or a new GBA port, like Fire Red or Leaf Green. That would totally kick ass.

LMAO i just found out my grade 11 physics teacher plays pokemon games XD
today she was explaining the coefficient of friction
μ=Ff/Fnshe then says μ is pronounced mew…like mewtwo...then our class starts laughing with some people having no idea whats going on...
then someone goes...miss...u watch pokemon?
she says oh btw, i want to trade my pokemon, does anyone have wobbat (w/e thats called...the baby version of wobbafet (spelling)) i want that wobbat, is that the name of the baby version of wobbafet?
the class goes: ???eh? clueless :wassat::wassat::wassat::wassat::wassat::wassat::wassat:
she says: but i dont kno what pokemon i need to breed it...i have the saphire (spelling) version...if u have it, tell me ok?
classmate 1 goes: miss what are u talking about? whats-
another classmate: shes talking about the pokemon game
classmate 1:
she says: did u guys kno that physics exist in pokemon too, physics exist everywhere! like when team rocket captures pikachu with rubber gloves...friction occurs....cant remember what else did u say about pokemon/physics relationship....was too busy laughing my ass off XD
classmate: Ok...
she says: u guys probably think im crazy! continues on with the lesson
-
You mean Wynaut. You can catch all the baby Pokemon in the wild in Diamond and Pearl, but I'd rather breed them to perfection.
I'm a Pokemon fan, you know.
On another note, I weap for my Sceptile, who is now rendered useless with the whole Physical/Special split. I'd have it learn the new attack instead of Leaf Blade, but it's level 100.
-
I think I'm going to go for PorygonZ in Pearl. I never raised a Porygon before, so it'll be interesting.
-
Only a few more weeks >_<
-
i want diamond more, but pearl has salamence, whick kills scizor
-
Not sure how many of you are aware of this, but all the new Poke'mon have had english names for a few weeks now…

A lot of them are creative, but a few are just "wha?"
:wassat: (Vespiquen???):wassat:

cant wait for this game
BUT
i dont have a DS yet so thats a problembut ive no worries, its going take ages before the games hits sweden
-
I don't have a DS yet either, but I doubt D/P will be going anywhere so I'll have plenty of time to get both.
I'll probably get Diamond, since I want Diaruga, but which pokemon are Diamond or Pearl exclusive?
(oh, and Empoleon all the way)
-
empolean is the last water dude right?i find him the wackest.i'm either gonna have the fire or leaf dude
-

@Usopp:
:wassat: (Vespiquen???):wassat:
Vespa's Italian for wasp, so that makes sense more or less. Why it couldn't have just stayed Beequeen is beyond me.
-
I've been reading about this game for awhile…Seems fun, can't wait to get my hands on it. I think I might reserve both, to get those Palkia and Darugia (However you spell their names) styluses too, cause I just lost all of mine lawl =/
-
@Cap'n:
slaps forehead
Okay, I am DEFINITELY going with Diamond. It's got Dewgong AND Tyranitar. Two of my all-time favorites! sparkly eyed thinking of the Ice Team she can make
Dude, I have been waiting for them to bring back Larviatar/Pupitar/Tyranitar for years. The only thing Pearl has going for it is Houndoom (I'm fond of Dark types).
-
Hey there, I like most of the Pearl exclusives.
Aside from Houndoom, I like the Slowpoke line, Pinsir, Walrein, and Salamence. I also like Palkia more than Dialga..
The main thing I'll miss is Murkrow and its evolution… Murkrow was one of my favorites, and I was always disappointed that it wasn't very useful in battle. So an evolution for it made me excited. I plan to get a Murkrow of my own from a friend, though.

Doesn't matter to me cause I'm getting both gets hit But if I had the choice to have only one of them, I'd be getting your same choice: Diamond. Aggron is a bad-ass mofo and so is Tyranitar and Scizor, that Dinosaur one, Rarmpardos, and of course Dialga, my opinion on it is that it's much better than Palkia
EDIT: Cap'n almost has the exact opposite opinion of mine. Meh, weird..
-
Most of those exclusives don't really matter to me, even if I didn't have Wifi, because of transfering your old ones to the game. It's simply a matter of which you'll get first, really.
I will be the first to say: Trading for a JAPANESE Pikachu.
-
I just want Poochyena.
I'll take whichever one has him.
-
He's in Diamond. Exclusive to that one lol
-
@''White:
i want diamond more, but pearl has salamence, whick kills scizor
Yeah, but what now? Diamond has Tyranitar, it's awesome. Aggron, one bad ass mofo. And Rampardos? Shit, son, Salamence can go to hell. ;)
-
Salamence always looked too generic for my tastes.
What really made me want Diamond over Pearl was Scyther and Tyranitar (and maybe Aggron, but I skipped the third generation, so…). I think that Palkia looks way better than Dialga, but Tyranitar was one of my favorites way back when I would play Silver obsessively. Aside from Palkia, the only exclusives I miss are Pinsir, and possibly Sheildon, assuming he turns out okay in battle.
-
Well, truthfully, I also think of Palkia as better than Dialga, but I prefer Dialga's colors. I'm probably gonna prefer Diamond though, seeing as how it has some of my favorite Pokemon.
I was suprised to see a Nosepass evo like, hopefully it will make the silly Ganondorf nose playable. Although I'm not suprised at Evos for ones liek Tangela, Magmar and Rhydon, since they needed it.
Also, did anyone notice the lack of new fire pokemon? There was Magmar's evo, the starer and it's evos and I think that was it….looks liek Rapidash and Ponyta will be used more.
Yes, I've also noticed that lack of fire pkmn. Fire is one of my fave types, along with Dragon, Steel, Water, and Earth. Apparently, there's only 5! 5!! 5 Fire Pokemon in this game!
Has anyone else also noticed that Diamond & Pearl has way too many bug type Pokemon? Seriously, check out the page: http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/newpokes.shtml
12 BUG type Pokemon, seems less than what I expected.
-
Nosepass stole Luffy's hat and Usopp's nose. For some reason, people are calling this an evolution.
While there aren't many fire types, at least there are more combinations of types. They were more generious towards Ghost and Bug, for instance.
Skunktank is betteru than Purugly!

hits you
Question is, what will they call the "third" game in this series? Diamond, pearl . . . . . . . . . . . moonstone?
-
Giratina is the third of the legendaries, obviously the game will be about it. As for what it's called… Gemstone? Granite? Garnet? Garnet doesn't sound that bad.
-
I really don't like Pokemon anymore. I loved pokemon to death back when blue and red were out, then when silver and gold came out that was awsome too but after that I realized that they were all the same.
-
Sometimes that isn't a bad thing.
-
Everyone in my old elementary school when we were kids LOVED Pokemon..In fact, if you didn't know the names or watched or liked it, YOU were the loser. Lawlz, there was a party once when instead of giving out candy, they gave out Pokemon cards. It was so awesome xD.
But now, most of them think of Pokemon for babies and kids. They're afraid of people teasing them when they find out those guys actually still like Pokemon. It's not a bad thing, really. If you were really mature and you thought of yourself as old enough, you wouldn't be afraid to admit you like Pokemon/other kid things. :P
But, nah I only like the games. They're pretty much addictive, especially once I just buy one I spend the whole week on it.
-
Amen to that brother
-
I have no choice but to get the new pokémon. My girlfriend loves the games to death and wants me to get the one she's not getting, for trading and battling and stuff.
I'll lose so hard, because I give up playing around level 40 every time I play a Pokémon game…. and she'll have like thirty level 100 pokémon....
-
Giratina name has something to do with a term for fire opal so opal seems likely.
Edit: whoops replyed to the final post on the last page without noticeing this page. Anyway here a bit more info. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Girasol
Poor paulie. Oh well maybe this now that there's the global trade system you can get a friend to give you some lvl 100's. Not me of course I'll never get past 40 myself.
-
I'm really going to have to get off my training slump, because I'm sure I'll fight a few of you guys (gals) when the game comes out. I usually get like 7 lv. 100's , but I realized that I suck horribly without at least 1 Legendary in my team.
Also, Discussion time. Some of us are already aware of an item cloning glitch in D/P, and plan to abuse it extensively. Now some people are getting their panties in a bunch, claiming "OMG You cheater! I no play with cheaters!" True getting Rare Candy after Rare Candy can seem cheap, but I only consider hacking a form of cheating; anything pre-existing in the game is made (or missed) by the developers and thus avalible to everyone.
What do you all consider cheating in this kind of situation? Good? Bad? Context Sensitive? Fine as long as you don't WiFi?
-
I could be wrong, but doesn't rare candy only increase the level not the stats? So in the end you be no where as strong as a trained lvl 100.
It's a glitch so I say it's just taking adavantage not hacking or anything, Not like people complain that you buy something with a five dollar bill you find on the ground. But there will always be complainers.
Well I did use the dupe/missingno glitch back in Red, but frankly unlimited master balls and etc made it to easy to be fun so I doubt I do any this time.
In the end it's all up to you. Not like people would even know the difference.
-
In Red and Blue your stats woulden't be as good as if you actually leveled it. About 5 to 10% less if I remember correctly, once you reach a 100 that is. But I'm pretty sure that no logner applies since IV's and stuff. So absicly you train the IV's and then do the rare candy thing and it'll be fine.
-
If you have the cash, just use items to raise their EVs (Protien, Carbos, Etc), so they still get them when you use the rare candy on them.
As much as I know about the game, I only know about the Darkrai and Sheimi glitch (which the Elite 4 skipping glitch is a part of), I know nothing about cloning items.
