While I have seen all of One Piece a good portion of it was on my friends badly translated HKs. Ya ya I know heresy and such but I've retraced my steps to learn the correct names. What I cant remember exactly is what some of the common phrases/jokes mean.

I'm refering in particular to Marimo, Melorine, and one more eludes me at the time of this post. Any help I could get would be appreciated. I know its a stupid basic question but I would appreciate an answer. For all I know Marimo refers to the afro looking thing but Sanji calling Zoro a Marimo eludes me. I understand that Melorine is a sanji expression of lust or something but I'm trying to remember/know how these jokes got started. Thanks alot.

IIRC, Marimo is a green alge..
so Zoro's hair looks sort of like marimo.
        Thus Sanji's nickname of "Marimo-head".

Melorine, however, I dont really understand.
Other then Sanji using it whenever he sees Nami/Robin in a sexy pose.
He seems to just use it to express his love for them 😜

Ah I see that makes a lil more sense. However, I was reading one of the chapter discussions and someone said something about Chess Marimo? Was that the name of Wapols minions?

"Mellorine," I believe, is some kind of frozen dessert. It sounds odd he'd call them that, but not different really from someone calling their love "sugar" or "honey."

              Mellorine
              From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mellorine is a non-dairy alternative to ice cream, wherein other fats are used instead of milk fat. It can be made out of both animal fat and vegetable fat.
              [edit]

              How Mellorine is made

Mellorine is produced by freezing, while stirring a pasteurized mix of milk-derived nonfat solids and animal or vegetable fat (or both). Afterwards, it is sweetened with a carbohydrate sweetener and the addition of flavouring ingredients.
              [edit]

              Trivia

In the anime One Piece, Mugiwara Pirate Sanji uses the word Mellorine to describe his love for every living woman on the Earth (perhaps due to its sweet and delicate taste).
