Zoro is my least favorite Straw Hat pirate, but that isn't to say I dislike him. I just love the others, but only like him.

What happened? In the old days, Zoro was the man.
It's easy to like Sanji, especially right now. Zoro never says much, and has been a bum this whole arc. Hell, he doesn't even train anymore. But I'll stick by him, since I'm sure he's going to do something really awesome soon.

I'm surprised Sanji is winning. He's really awesome and all, but no one can match Zoro's badass factor. Zoro's been my favorite since he was introduced, but Sanji was pretty lame until he pulled Mr. Prince.

Sanji's the man! XD he's the reason why I watched One Piece, yes I watched the SG OP dubbed and I love his voice and his Japanese voice actor. He's so unique
Although Zoro is cool, strong, collected and has very cool moves, I don't look in person's quality that way. I look in deeper :lol: Sanji seems to have things that I have interested in him.

- I enjoy his fighting style.
- Generally more interesting & active onboard.
- Very cool & refined.
- Loves the ladies.
- The consummate gentleman.
It's not like I don't like Zoro, it's just that he doesn't strike me as that interesting, apart from when he's fighting of course. -_-

Zoro Zoro ZORO!!! the best character in the world hes da best. number 1. fights good when hes talking its either funny or an important factor. he helps luffy alot. Going to be the best swordsman :D

Cooooooool...Consentrate on 1 thing ......hard working .......he won't attack girls ... but once that time he tried to attack nami in the arlong park arc ...lol ... but when he were in skypea ..while eneru use thunder on robin ,he said that ..she's a woman! and eneru said ,it doesnt matter ,woman or man .... so i think zoro is good ...

:D I'd say that at first i liked both equally. Luffy's my Favourite. but then i started liking sanji a tad better, come to think of it i've no idea why?, maybe it's because i saw more character in Sanji than Zoro. Zoro fans please do not bash me cause i think zoro is an amazing character and is downright cool it's just that Sanji is more livelier and funnier than Zoro.
So i did a little researching and found out that Sanji and Zoro are equal in popularity in Japan, sadly they beat luffy but heck at least he's still popular right?.
I also found out people on the net were battling it all out on who's the better character so i decided to post a topic on my own to really see who you guys think is the better character.

I'm not a big fan of Zoro but Sanji's character has improved a lot since the introduction, right now he's my third favourite Straw Hat. So, it's an easy choise.

Zoro for me. He´s the best bad boy I´ve ever seen in cartoon/anime etc. I mean normally the bad boys character´s act to tough and show little emotions. Yet Zoro laugh´s very often, get´s as fired up as any other Straw Hat member when Luffy´s acting stupid again and most importantly if there´s a falling rock from Arlong Park, a backfiring fist of Luffy or a boat that´s on the way through the forest you can be sure that Zoro is the one who will be hit by all of that. And normally the bad boys are actually the kind of character´s who are to cool or to tough for that. That´s why Zoro´s my favorite Straw Hat member. :)

Sanji is the very definition of badass, and the guy radiates this aura that makes anything he comes near cool for some reason. Plus, he's been having a lot more screentime lately. I like how his character has developed since he was first introduced. At first, I could have cared less. He was an a bit of an asshole, and I saw no signs at all in him even slightly caring about his shipmates (Aside from Nami.). Luckily, the latest few arcs turned all that around.
However, I fully agree with Buccaneer here. I also just think Zoro's a generally more likeable character. He might be slightly less a badass than Sanji, but he's got the power to back up every single bit of his attitude and more. Plus, I find his dreams and motivations simply a lot more understandable and clear-cut. I don't think All Blue's been mentioned even once since Sanji's introduction arc, for example. While Zoro's constantly seen going through efforts and thinking about achieving his dream.
Plus, he's damn hilarious at times. My vote goes to Zoro.

I don't know but I actually never liked Sanji that much to even think about to vote for him. Let's see, he can cook, can kick arse, falls head over heels for every pretty girl and has some corny dreams (lol I mean the one with the unicorn) etc.
For me its ZORO!! He has a unique fight style, his kinda mysterious, bad sense of direction (you gotta love him for that!) etc. yeah, It has to be Zoro!!

Everybody else seems to care about their goal (well, we don't hear much from Nami or Chopper, but theirs are gradual), but despite the way his face lit up when we see him talking about All Blue to Luffy for the first time, he doesn't seem to give it a second thought. Hopefully Oda will realize this and bring it up soon. To be in the crew you have to be a dreamer, dammit Sanji!

I don't think I can choose between them. I love them both. Sometimes I feel more of a preference for one of the other based on what's going on, but in the end I like them equally for different reasons.

[snapback]24838[/snapback]I don't think that's true at all, sure Zoro got to fight and flash his skills more but if you really look at it in another way you'll see that Sanji was always more cheerful and funnier than Zoro to me that's more important than flashing your skills if i'd wanted to see a true battle i'd always root for luffy who is more cheerful in battle

Zoro. Sanji is a big wet noodle, since he can't overcome his groin to just kick Mr. 2's face when it looks like Nami. That's flake. Zoro is all about focus: swordsmanship. plus, he is the greatest counter-Luffy ever.

Yeah, Sanji seems too obsessed with women, but that's part of his charm. Unless it causes him to lose or screw up somehow, I think it's fine.
And y'know, Zoro's focus has been questionable, as of late. :lol:

in both fights Sanji forbids a member to do something to protect 'the man's honor'
and I love that kick Sanji gave to Luffy and sent him flying when Luffy told Ussop to leave… : x
and how he tells Luffy to think before he speaks...too awesome =

I love how Oda will write Luffy and Zoro interacting rarely with quick words and looks that sum it all up.

I know Zoro and Sanji shares almost the same endurance. But I also liked his " never say die" spirit, , he survived starvation as a child, survived under water pressure (the karate merman forces him way to the bottom), he fights for Baratie and still stands despite that he kept getting knocked down, he kept standing up no matter how injured he is, putting others before himself (remember the scene from Drum which Sanji threw Luffy and Nami back to the cliff?) .
He is a positive person, confidence of his own skills and he does his best in everything he do. The way he dresses adds a plus to self image.

Zoro is too much of the stereotypical swordsman in that he's always being the 'badass' who can defeat anyone with not just 1, no not 2, but THREE swords. I always thought that was a little overkill IMHO.
Sanji takes a more 'cool' approach with his character and actually has a very vulnerable weakness. To me, that just makes him more interesting of a character. Plus he just cracks me up when he goes into his Love Cook form. ;P

Cmon you guy's Zoro is so much cooler than Sanji. Zoro is the coolest character on the whole frikin show. Sanji is too… well I don't know, the fact that he doesn't use his hands because "they are used for coking" is just a little weird. Zoro also has a more descript past with Cuina and all. And the fact that Zoro uses the Santorui style of sword fighting is just awsome. Zoro's attacks are better than Sanji's too because they arn't just the same thing but slightly alterd.

Wow, we must be soulmates, that's exactly how I felt about him.
While I like Sanji better, I have to think that a lot of their squabbles is a result of Sanji being an asshole for the hell of it… Well, I guess it's even for me. I'll to Pros and Cons for each
Zoro:
- Pretty Badass
- Sweet Bandana
- Lazy Personality
- Extremely two-dimensional
- kind of cliche, really
- pretty hilarious at times, one of the funniest Strawhats
- very little (if any) crew interaction
Sanji:
- Unlike some of the main characters, has developed a great deal
- awesome fighting style
- a cook (I like cooks)
- I agree with Mog, his dream doesn't seem to come up as much (then again, anyone else that isn't Robin or Luffy or Zoro doesn't either)
- I was pretty pissed when he COMPLETELY DISABLED from hurting Bon Clay just because he looked like Nami, ESPECIALLY after he gave that "PEOPLE ARE HEART" line.
+- The Love Cook stuff can be funny at times, but incredibly annoying otherwise
- good crew interaction
- very badass
So I'm kind of neutral.

Zoro:
- Driven
- Level headed
- Has a great relationship with his captain
- Unintentionally funny
- Is starting to seem like a bum
Sanji:
- A non-perverted ladies' man
- Martial artist of a sort
- Active
- Slick attitude and style
- The way he treats women can be annoying at times
