Dunno if anyone's read about this, but the game and KoF XI have been confirmed for Europe.
NGBC will be released this Autumn, with KoF XI following shortly.

That's good news…too bad I already have the Japanese versions.
Any news on Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi? Out of all the recent SNK games, it's the one that I need to be able to read the text the most.
-
I've heard through other sources that Neo Geo would be getting a UK release, but didn't know about XI. Hurray! I have every intention to snap those two up the second I see them - if I have enough money.

nONE i'm afraid, but they might release it after these 2 games. I wonder if Tenkaichi's gonna need a lot of translation work?
-
Anyway, If I do decide to eventually buy them, I need to read about how to play European PS2 games. I only have a U.S. and Japanese PS2. Would Swap Magic or something work?
As for Tenkaichi, yeah, I'd say it has quite a bit of text to translate.
-
I'm pretty sure Swap Magic will work.
I played the ISO of the Japanese one. But yeah, I heard that it was getting a european release. I'm not sure if I'll import it since language isn't a huge handicap in fighting games.
This is a pretty fun game, with a really huge and creative roster. The Arcade mode is really unusual; it's more like a survival match than any arcade mode I've experienced.
My favorite teamups are Tung Fu Rue and Mudman/Mars People. Mudman is a really amusing and powerful character; I love the blue fetus thing he does. Mars People is pretty funny and strong too. And of course, Tung Fu Rue is a really good character, and he goes along with my love of ass kicking old men. Plus, he's a tribute to Muten Roshi.
I only unlocked Athena, Mars People, and Orochi. I don't look forward to trying to get through survival to unlock the likes of Shishioh and Goodman.
-
^You wouldn't unlock Shishioh?! O_O, the first time I played the game, I went through Survival Mode JUST to get Shishioh, his animations owned my soul.
One of my gripes about the game is how some of the supers aren't worth the amount of stocks u use to perform them (like Chonshu's Level 2 one].
Anyway, this site has one or 2 neat NGBC combo vids. -
Yeah, I own this game. Another classic by SNK. I know some sick corner combos with terry and iori. Now, I finally get to play it in English

And I find Tung Fu Rue's super to be well worth the 3 stocks.
-
I've tried a few times, but I still haven't beaten Goodman in Survival Mode. I got King Lion and Neo-Dio though. Neo-Dio is one big Hirohiko Araki tribute if I ever saw one.
I haven't played in awhile though.
-
^That's cuz he's based off Baoh, check Wikipedia for him, cuz the info about him in it was posted by me & a friend.
@Carter- Yeah his Lvl. 3 one is worth the whole bar, but damn….Tung kinda sucks when it comes to combos >_<, I really hate how you can't combo into his Kick super, while back in Real Bout 2 it'd combo from almost anything :/ -

Yeah, I saw that.
I think the Wikipedia article also mentions that he's also kind of based on the Ultimate Life Forms in JoJo's part 2 (did you add that on there as well?)
So he's got:
-Looks almost exactly like Baoh (and has his arm blades)
-Also similar to the Ultimate Life Form guys in JoJo's part 2 (in one of his World Heroes profiles, he's listed as "Ultimate Thing" or something like that)
-Cars from part 2 also had similar arm blades (like Baoh)
-His name is Dio and he's also listed as a vampire in some game profiles (not sure which WH games though, I'll have to check)
-He has a "Rib Blade" attack exactly like Santana from JoJo's part 2Oh, and he's also kind of like Guyver now (which doesn't have anything to do with Araki, but it's still cool)
-Although he didn't have this move in the WH games, he now has a Guyver chest blast move where he rips his chest open and fires a projectile
-It's possible that the designers of Battle Coliseum thought his arm blades were based on the Guyver (instead of Baoh or Cars), so they decided to give him another Guyver featureIn fact, Neo-Dio's design is what has led me to believe that Brocken from World Heroes might be partly a tribute to Stroheim from JoJo's part 2. They are both arrogant cyborg/robotic german super-soldiers with lots of hidden weaponry (and both are always saying German science/technology is the best).
-
^Hmm interesting, never noticed that.

The King of Fighters Volleyball (EZweb)_Atari UK has signed a new agreement to distribute the latest releases from Ignition Entertainment and SNK Playmore across multiple European territories.
The deal includes PSP puzzler Mercury Meltdown, due out in September, plus SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters for Nintendo DS, and PSP titles Blade Dancer and Metal Slug Anthology.
Atari will also distribute SNK's forthcoming PS2 products - NeoGeo Battle Coliseum, Samurai Showdown 6, and King of Fighters games Maximum Impact 2, Neowave and KOF XI.
"Ignition are known for publishing games that consumers want, and we believe this to be our strongest line-up ever," said Ignition's Phu Tien.
"We had numerous approaches from various distribution entities across Europe. However we chose Atari as they demonstrated commitment and drive, as well as being able to deliver a strong distribution presence."
I envy u europeans sometimes -_-
-
Man, fuck everyone remotely involved with these products.
-
SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters for Nintendo DS, Samurai Showdown 6 and King of Fighters Maximum Impact 2 all bound for the UK?! Excellent. Can't wait to get my hands on them.
-
I guess I won't be getting any of the European stuff for awhile.
But I'll be gettting MS6 for PS2 for sure. I'll probably just get the Japanese version though. I used to play Card Clash for NGPC all the time, so I'll probably get the DS one.
I won't be dealing with any of the Mobile stuff.
-
Heh, speak of mobile stuff. I didn't download yet, but I saw Metal Slug and KoF for cells. At this rate it's all I'll get for a while.
-
I don't know anything about downloading cell phone games. I doubt I have the right cell phone (or whatever it is you need) for any of the games.
-
BUMP! Here are Ignition's schedule for the next few months-
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum- Playstation 2: 16 November 2006
Metal Slug Anthology- Playstation Portable: December 2006
Metal Slug Anthology- Nintendo Wii: December 2006
The King Of Fighters XI- Playstation 2: 11 January 2007
Metal Slug- Gameboy Advance: 18 January 2007 *
SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters DS- Nintendo DS: 25 January 2007
Samurai Shodown Tenkaichi- Playstation 2: 31 January 2007
KOF Maximum Impact 2 + KOF Another Day DVD- Playstation 2: January 2007*That's odd I could swear I was told that MS1 for the GBA was canceled…
-
Uh games are usually released on a Friday over here. Plus according to Amazon.co.uk the game isn't due until next friday.
-
Captain Kuro, is Metal Slug Anthology getting a PS2 release? If it is, you could just buy that instead of Metal Slug 6 alone for a cheaper price and a greater value.
Anyway, it's a damn shame many of these games won't see release in the US. I enjoy SNK's games greatly, so I would really like to actually play KOF XI or NGBC for once.
-
GF says that MS Anthology is coming out 12/04/06 but that could change seeing as SNK is lazy. Isn't MS6 on Anthology tho?
Also, KOF and NGBC are eventually coming to the US as SNk announced a while back. My guess is at the end of 07.

Yeah, I think so. My post was a few months old, so I didn't know that at the time.
Oh, and I read that Leona is a playable character in Metal Slug Survivors, which is a mobile game. I wonder what moves she will have (since Ralph and Clark have special moves). Too bad I don't play mobile games.
