About One Piece Chapter Spoilers

I don't know if this is the best solution but still it's a sugestion

I think that to avoid what's been happening in the last One Piece Chapter Spoilers threads, maybe the One Piece Chapter Spoilers should be a closed thread right for the first post just showing the text summary and the pictures and when there's something new to add someone with "powers" would edit the post to add that information

Now if people still want to complain or present questions about the Chapter Spoilers maybe a single thread should be made, like "all your complains and questions about Chapter Spoilers for all Chapter Spoilers"

I know this might sound a weird but considering want was been happening with the last Chapter Spoilers threads….

Anyways keep giving the good stuff (One Piece Chapter Spoilers), anyway that is considered fit

We've already discussed about that among staff, and what we decided was to keep the spoiler thread since ~~I really love it~~ if the forum doesn't have the place to discuss, what is the forum for?

We're just going a little more strict on those threads.

Other than that, we're ~~lazy~~ too busy to update as more spoiler pic/script and its translation as they come out… (Probably the main reason.)

That would be a good idea. Some fans don't want to understand that Oda is unpredicatble and we are not living in Japan to do the voting.

The spoiler should be a sticky lock-post where mods can update it whatever the spoiler provider has something new.

I don't understand why when chapter 413 spoiler came out, most Usopp fans who are rooting for there'er speculation on Usopp beating Jabura to come true. This is why I don't like predication and make insane speculation that would only lead to disappointment. If you want to predicate, fine but don't expect it to come true. If you want to make speculation, fine but I learn to avoid insane rapid-fandom speculations like Buster Call having laser beams or putting dials in Sanji's shoes or Usopp going apeshit to kill Kaku back in the warehouse. I'm on Capt Carter for that one. I mean no offense, I'm only expressing my views; sorry if I insult any fans.

Usopp fans were expecting Usopp to beat Jabura, but they forgot one thing: Oda does not follow what we think so Oda makes many surprise twist.

Usopp did not quit the crew because he was weak, he quitted because he though Luffy was leaving behind the weak. So Sanji faced Jabura, Sanji fans then does a "I told you so!" war on Usopp fans. Why? Sanji had enough on the train so he should had stayed out of it but Oda's the boss so there was nothing we can do BUT Sanji fans and Usopp fan should not be fighting each other and worst; some Usopp fans flame Oda and OP for not meeting their expections.

Mods and some users tried to stop this madness but no one listened to their pleas, and e1n close the topic in anger. When chapter 414 spoiler came out, everything was calm again but when chapter 415 spoiler came out with a popluarly polls, fans starting going all out on a flame war agianst Japan for failing to meet their expections, once again some fans failed realize that; we-don't-live-in-Japan and polls do not care what American fans thinks about each characters and what we see charaters won't effect the OP polls so it's too bad. It's like wanting to go outside but you just stand there doing nothing. Once again the madness refuse to stop and Oceanizer closed the topic.

I have to painfully agree that we should not have another spoiler threads due to the stubborness of some fans. This never happens before, when we frist have spoiler threads since chapter 350's no one throws in a flame war, but why now? Why are there flames going around? Has One Piece starting to get hated? Is One Piece dying? We can't discuss spoiler threads anymore.

Joe, what does all that stuff about Usopp have to do with spoiler threads? That's an awfully big tangent there.

Anyway…as ocean said, this is a discussion forum, so it seems kind of silly to put a thread up that we aren't allowed to discuss. I avoid the spoiler threads myself and personally would be totally happy if they didn't exist at all, but that's just me. XD I don't see why you all can't just discuss the spoiler civily without turning into a big emo fanboy whinge-fest and off-topic tangents on racism. -_-

I'm not sure what the problem is with the spoiler threads. From what I can tell, the problem seems to be with people being unhappy with what's going to happen. I don't really see what's wrong with voicing a complaint if you don't like the way the story is going (look at the Naruto discussion thread).

But I can understand how it can go out of hand (413 spoiler thread), but i don't know if it's necessary to punish everyone for it. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't really see a huge problem with how discussion in spoiler threads have gone, save the little 413 incident.

Gotta agree with Carter. I think it's unfair to the large majority of members who want to discuss the spoilers in a proper civil fashion, and who do so week after week, to be suddenly locked out, due to the actions of a small miniority, who don't!

I mean, why can't these few agitators be warned and/ or banned if necessary? Why must the thread itself that's made an example of, when it's usually those 'usual suspects' who are derailing it? I'd understand the locking if it was complete bedlam, but honestly I didn't think it was that bad this week.

Gah, I knew it was a bad idea to group the poll with spoilers, should've created a separate thread. Anyways, I hope the spoiler thread isn't locked indefinitely, 'cause twiddling my thumbs till Friday afternoon will sorta suck.

The thing thats hard about this, is the fact somebody; a normal forum member usually translates the spoiler and posts it in the thread. With this they'd either have to post in another thread/forum or send it via PM to a mod, and rather how soon that mod will be on is unknown.

Yeah, I agree. The chapter 413 spoiler thread was a riot but the chapter 415 spoiler thread rarly has any flamers. e1n is not good at thinking that way. If I was them I would ban flamers forever as a warning in the future, not "OMG! 5 users out of 1000 users in that thread are flaming! Lock the topic NOW!!!" That is like bombing a city meant for terrorist when there'er are olny one terrorist and majority of the city are not terrorist. That is like punishing a child for making a small unimportant situation. That is like arresting everybody in the ball party over a 2-man fight.

Think Ocean, think e1n, locking the topic won't make agitators go away, same thing you can't just spank a child one time to obey.

I don't think we do temp bans anymore, there is a strike system.

While the idea of punishing only those who cause the problem sounds ideal, the trouble is that often what happens is one person says one thing that may not be a big deal and certaily not something that is ban-worthy, then all of a sudden it starts a chain-reaction of responses, and not all of them are really bad, but they're all part of the same mess. It's not easy to pick out who is really responsible. Also, that means that you're requiring a mod to sit there and babysit. Maybe that is our job, but we can't always be there. And for me, my preference is to not even open the spoiler thread, I don't like spoilers.

But don't worry, we'll try to figure out an agreeable compromise. ocean doesn't want to spoiler thread to go away.

That and that it's incomplete information, and almost always people are like "wow, that was good, so it didn't suck so much as the spoiler made it seem!"

Just remember that I love the spoiler thread as much as you guys do. And I could be the only staff in APForum that doesn't want to see spoiler discussion thread to go away. I started the trend back then. I fought EvilGamerX to allow the spoiler thread on this forum back then. (I wasn't even a mod and EGX really hated the spoiler thread. You can dig up the thread; I believe it's still somewhere buried in Manga board.)

Even though you were behaving this time, it is true that there were some off-topicness and bashing. Bashing of any kind is prohibited. It's just easier for people to know what they've done wrong when the whole thread is closed, rather than individually be warned. See, same set of people are doing the same thing over and over. Peer pressure works better than we take some other action.

If you want to keep the thread alive, please don't repeat this. If you see anyone who doesn't follow this rule, report to mods rather than replying them. Replying them just make things worse.

After reading everyones posts I have to agree that my sugestion is a bit extreme but there were people that suggested even extremer actions

Ban or Temporary Ban isn't a good solution - that would lead to more troubles and sometimes mistakes

Maybe warning the person about the wrong deed committed would be the option to take

Someone said that One Piece might be dying I think not rather the opposite the more fans, the more contrary opinions there'll be (that sometimes leads to flamming wars)

I also like the Chapter Spoilers threads

The main problem that is happening is that fan are starting to read between the lines and making huge assumptions on what happens on the Chapter based in a summary spoiler

Normally the Chapter is very good and most people go back to satisfaction mode

About the voting polls well it's tough to see your favourite character score bad but that just what happens (everyone got diferent minds) don't go bashing japanese because of it

Also it's not only Japanese and Americans that like One Piece there also the European fans so that a huge variety of favouritisms

The sugestion is conform with the voting or try voting when you can

Also I beg that the Chapter Spoilers threads continue because it's always a good thing to know a tiny little bit of information about the up-coming chapter when your a huge fan and can't wait to see what Oda will present in the next chapter

And uhh, Joey buddy, would you quit second-guessing the staff ? I like the spoiler threads too but we do what we do for a reason; we're not just here to make you cry whenever mummy takes your boo-boo away. Yes, sometimes, it's better to be harsh so that everyone gets the message. If we just ban the key offenders then who's actually going to notice them gone – unless they're someone prominent like BF or Carter ? (Neither of whom I can see getting banned over spoiler discussion, but that's beside the point)

The pictures and text are still there, so don't worry about it. OH GOD I CAN'T DISCUSS ONE PIECE FOR THREE DAYS UNNNGHGHHHGHGH. The chapter will be out soon, so... chillax.
