well i think its logic is call endless eight so 8 episodes ??

Except that "Endless Eight" is essentially a double pun. On one side, it's an endless repetition August, which, as we all know, is the 8th month of the year, and on the other hand, what is the symbol for eternity? An "8" lying down. The name has nothing to do with the length of the arc. Heck, in the novels, this was just one single, 30-page chapter…

...Which makes this even more infuriating than it already was. Honestly, if you ask me, this arc started out cool, then it crossed the line and became just plain annoying, then it crossed it again and ended up becoming kinda interesting again, and now it's crossed the line a third time, reaching a point where I can't comprehend how anyone could possibly consider this a good idea.

So, episode 8 just aired, and I'm sure that everyone would like to know… Did it end? I went and checked the comments on AnimeSuki, and the answer seems to be...

Also, I thought of something… In Japan, the success of an anime is decided solely by how well the DVDs sell... Is it true the second season of this show reused the same episode for the last several episodes and called it a new episode every time?! I have to know. Something that stupid cannot be true, even for this show.

Almost. They've actually reanimated it from scratch every time, and none of the episodes are exactly the same, but generally… Yeah, they've had seven episodes in a row of Endless Eight, and there's gonna be another one next week. (Which, hopefully, will be the last one.)

I agree completely. I mean, it would be bad enough if they were just airing the same episode over and over, but they're actually reanimating it completely every time, which means that they actually made 7 near-identical episodes… Who's profiting from this, anyway? They're not saving any money from it, they definitely won't be getting an increase in ratings, (though ratings don't matter the slightest for late-night anime like this one) and I don't think anyone other than the most extreme fanboys would actually be willing to buy 8 episodes of this nonsense… It also makes this "second season" practically unlicensable. If anyone can find even a single good thing that could come from this utterly retarded idea, I'd like to hear it, because I certainly can't find anything.

Afro Samurai's budget was $1M/episode, and while the animation was top-notch, everything else was very low budget.

Haruhi is expensive on all fronts, so it's very easily comparable to AS in terms of price.

Well, having read the novels, I knew fully well how it would end. I'm just surprised at how insanely epic they managed to make the action of asking someone to help you with your homework look. I don't think anyone was surprised that that was the answer. I've seen plenty of people who never read the novels who stilll managed to guess, quite correctly, that Kyon finishing his homework would be what ended the loop.

We need to be a bit more tight-lipped in the future. Book IV's antagonist won't be a HUGE surprise by any stretch of the imagination, but I would hate the moment when the feces fly into the fan to be spoiled for the innocent in this topic.

Well, I have to say, I was very happy with how it ended. I've been a huge fan of Endless Eight from the start, and I think this episode completely affirmed everything I loved about it. I loved how this episode was more in the style of a Hollywood epic, and, like such a blockbuster movie, it had to have a decisive, action-packed ending.

Oh man. So wonderful. You have to give Koyami some credit. People called things like Evangelion and Seinfeld groundbreaking shows, but no plotlines and bizarre no-budget Gainax ending - those were nothing compared to a stunt like this. I just wish it had gone longer.

I have no idea how they plan to top Endless Eight, but this episode was pretty decent. I just hope they haven't been scared away from taking risks on other genius ideas by all the complaints.
