7. Romance (yeah, I'm a sucker for it. :o)Basically, I see it as a feel good story with a lot of spontanious comedy. Good stuff.
so basically besides number 4, it's like alot of other anime. I can see why it's popular, just that it is the MOST hyped fansub of 2006 strikes me as odd.

It's just light hearted and fun. The charicters are all lovable and intriging. It's not a complicated story, so you can jump in at any point, yet there is a plot to follow, and things to figure out.
Plus, 2006 was not the most stellar year for anime. OP and FMA beat this hands down. They just arn't anime of 2006.

I fail to see how my statement was a contradiction. No matter how much you claim its a "change up," its still guilty of countless anime cliches, like the "love triangle", sexy character for the sake of it etc. The big thing people seem to love is its aired out of order, which just adds to confusion so you have to watch it 3 times to get it, or buy it to watch it in the right order or whatever. biiiiig whoop.
The "first" episode was definitely the best, I thought it was all downhill after they dropped the home movies motiff.
Oh and yea, its liscenced. Not that that stops it from being distributed.

Yeah, I haven't even rewatched it yet, but I got what was going on without any problem. Just because the episodes are out of order doesn't mean it's impossible to follow the first time watching. In fact, the episodes that should be in order are, they are just spaced out with other episodes in between.
I definatly think this show was the best new anime last year. I've really got to get around to re-watching it.

you try memorizing all those fast motions in a week or so. (with a life) I asume it would be easy, if you did NOTHING but spend a week memorising that dance.

Yeah, I have a question about this show. At the beginning of this series, a cat was suddenly talking. Was that ever explained? Or was it it not part of the manga and was put into the ep. 0 for some fill time?

That's from book 2: The Sighs of Suzumiya Haruhi which centers around the SOS Brigade making the movie "The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru" which is of course the first episode.
It's never actually explained in the anime itself, but there are little nods to the book here and there. Here's the answer:
! The talking cat, Shamisen, is caused by Haruhi altering reality to fit her every desire for the movie they're filming. Among other things changed: Mikuru actually fires beams out of her eyes, sakura blossoms even when it's not Spring, pigeons change color, etc.
This is resolved by Kyon..

The only thing that displeases me was Wendee Lee being Haruhi, that isn't who I voted for in the poll and she wasn't the one winning when I did vote. Frankly, Wendee can change her voice but she is just far too mature to properly voice Haruhi.

Also, I agree with Cr4zy. Her voice isn't bad, but her voice acting isn't to my liking. Kyon's voice was okay, and I thought Mikuru had a good voice.
