Multiple USB Failures.

I was looking for some OP images for the Wiki about a week back, when I decided to clean out the dust in my computer case. The computer froze but I reset and things were back to normal.

Since then, however, anything plugged into my USB ports fail to work. They're not even detected, but Windows doesn't do the "detected new hardware" or "missing hardware" infoboxes. Heck, I even deleted the individual port drive programmes, reset, and they were reinstalled; but they are still undetected.

This means I cannot use my recorder, my printer, or my DVD Burner jack, which I mentioned wasn't working in an earlier topic for this forum. Any suggestions on what to do, other than getting a new motherboard or reinstalling Windows 2k?

Check if the connections, especially on front- or slot-mounted ports, are tight. I did that on mine last time I reassembled it.

I had the same problem. It bugged the HELL out of me for MONTHS.

Ends up some card in my computer was loose. I just put it back in and everything worked fine.

Well, I had a similiar problem like you. But the only difference is, 2 months later my whole motherboard crashed. So it should either be a problem with your motherboard(god bless you if that happens) or your USB devices are malfunctional.
