So there allways seems to be controversy surounding On Ea, Im just curious whats your opinion on this company? My personall opinion is that they are a evil company that buys out other companys out so that they can put their label on games that had sucsess. So discuss!

They make the Fight Night series, which is cool. I couldn't care less otherwise.
-
I'm not a fan but what can I do. It's just a matter of time before they lunch their own console…

I really wouldent be suprised, all sports games.

What's this thing I hear about EA taking over video games or something like that? I'm just not to clear on the whole 'buzz'…

@Mr.:

It's mostly because EA bought the rights to the NFL franchise a few months back, thereby making it so if anyone else wants to make a football game, it has to be a fictional league.
You know, all of that crap that usually is associated with Microsoft back when they made the Xbox and bought Rare and when other big companies don't screw up.
-
i'm not too fond of EA myself. Especially after the multitude of lawsuit filed against them for overworking their employees and interns.
-
I have no opinion but my friend works at EA. I get free video games to play from him, so I like it, I guess? I agree that they overwork their employees though. My friend didn't come home until past midnight for long time…
Company buying other company is just a normal stuff... There were so many companies in year 2005 that bought other companies... They're just doing their best?
-
EA rocked in the Drive days with Road Rash 3 and Fifa 96. But honestly I've barely played anything of theirs since their mad grab for cash when they acquired the Bond license. :glare:

No no no, they buy stock in like every game company in america, sooner or later they will own more stock than the company, then they go on to another company and the cycle repeats itself. Soon they will have a monopaly on the gaming industry
-
I don't know what it is, but I never was fascinated very much by sports games…James Bond games are REALLY good (From Russia With Love wasn't as great as I expected it to be though...), but I feel that EA shouldn't have bought Bond...
-
If there was anything that EA shouldn't have done it was make a sequel to Goldeneye.

Yeah, standard business fare. I highly doubt they'll have a MONOPALLY1 though
I don't really have an opinion on them, I don't really play sports games or licensed stuff. Medal of Honor's pretty fun, though. I do get annoyed with everyone saying they're TEH DEVIL just because they bought some small company.
-
Yeah, because I don't think there would be many people that would say the same thing if Nintendo did something like that. The main objective of a company is making a profit. If every company trying to make a profit was EVUL!!1!one for doing that, than this would be an evil world.
-
I personally don't like EA, as it seems that every game series they buy seems to turn…crap.
I mean, we had Bullfrog, which had greats such as Theme Park, Dungeon Keeper and Theme Hospital, when EA bought them they had Theme Park World and Theme Park Inc which were terrible.
There was also Westwood, who gave us the brilliant Command and conquer series, once EA bought them, we got the craptacular Generals series. After that I think they dropped that series.
James Bond: Meh, the only one I liked was goldeneye, which was made by Rare. most of the ones after were crap.
Medal of Honour was fun for the first few games, after allied assault came out the series seemed to get worse.
The Sims: I didn't mind the first initial game, but once EA got hold of them we have the seemingly infinite games we have now. No word on a new Sim City either.
The sports games are all meh, I don't mind the games themselves, I just hate the fact that they release a new one EVERY YEAR!
Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter: meh, crap games, crap films imo, no comment.
And that is why I hate EA

This world is evil already :glare:
And.. yeah
Need for Speed is crap by now (who needs tuning?), so are FIFA 05, 06 (doesn't work at all), the managers (they take out features.. just to add it a few years later as somehting new O_o) and so on. -
Ea's fine by me cuz I rent the games.
-
The only big thing I have against EA is that they killed Origin Systems when they bought them out…which in turn, nixed the Ultima series of games.
Dangit. ULTIMA!!
-

Goldeneye for the N64 or Goldeneye: Rogue Agent? Rogue Agent wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, but in my opinion, the best game EA's had ahold of is James Bond:Everything or Nothing.
-
All the football (Soccer) games are pretty much the same every year. They put the same crap in and package it differently, like wrapping up a christmas present in different wrapping.
-
Evil company run by corporate assholes… But they make good games. Kinda balances out in the end, eh?
-

:dito:
and EA hockey on megadrive was kick ass too.
but as every company that became too big, too fast, they quickly prefered making money over making good games.capitalism will kill art, remember that.
-
like nba live 2006 man i was so disapointed with that game. it had no major imporvements from 2005.
-
A lot of people said that about Madden 06.
-
Well apparentlly Activision has all rights to SpiderMan and the X-Men up until 2017 so I dought EA will be making a crappy sequel to Rise of the imperfects.
-

They totally reinvented the passing system, I mean it sucked, instead of passing to a reciver you had to "look" for one. It really destroyed the game
