I've got a tablet. I've had it for a good, solid six years, and all of a sudden yesterday it up and craps out on me, the computer coming up with error messages saying the driver has failed. So i download a new driver, and still no dice. If this has happened to anyone help is greatly appreciated. It's a Wacom Graphire 1 tablet and i'm running it on Mac OS10.4.

Hmm… Have you deleted to old driver? You should go have that checked out. My wacom doesn't require anything like that, I took it to the lab the other day and simply plugged it in.

that was the first thing i did. I got rid of the old driver and installed a new one, but still nothing works. I'm thinking it's either the tablet is broken, or it has to do with when i upgraded to 10.4, but if it's the latter it should have happened when i upgraded back in august and not now.

My thought is iffy hardware.
I don't know how those models work specifically, but my Graphire3, when stuffed in the USB port of a Win98+ box, will come up as a mouse, no driver needed. Might be worth trying it on another machine to rule out hardware failure

that's probably what i'm going to do when i get home next week. I really hope there's nothing wrong.
EDIT: HE LIIIIIIVES. My tablet is alive again! I went and called Wacom and they helped me out. Apparently i had to reset my permissions on my computer and reinstall the driver. Now he's all right and back to normal. Hooray!
