Though it will be difficult to track her down in the third day, I mean her plan was so well organized. From recruiting Kazumi in volume 10, Hakase, a tech expert in her side, and a device whereyou can travel in time, it will be such a challenge. Plus some call her a genius for the fact, she's good at lots of things and she has the TOP test scores in Negi's class.

I thought her dialogue (before time jumping) a couple chapters ago implied she would be seen again by the characters on the third day. I mean, remember when she said "We should recruit Negi" or something along those lines? She did, technically…by giving him the Cassioppea, he was able to occupy the attention of virtually his whole class while Chao initiated her plans. What better way to finish an arc without the central antagonstic presence giving a lengthy dissertation upon the nature of her motives?

I ruled that out when I heard Nekane Springfield was Negi's cousin, rather than sister. Such makes sense because Nagi was in his twenties when Nekane was a teen, so their age difference cannot be huge. Furthermore, for a "lone wolf" mage who apparently hasn't forged a single practio card with anyone (even Negi's mother), I don't see Nagi as the type to go flirting with people. Chamo's "Thousand Practio Card" boast is almost certainly a lie; in my own view, Negi's personal charisma is all his own, not derivative of his Welsh background or distinguished heritage.

Furthermore, when Akamatsu introduced Mei (Naru's sister) in Love Hina, he never specified that her last name was Narusegawa, and since Mei reappeared in Negima with a different surname, it's possible that she's a step-sister and not a half-sister. Chao claims to be blood related to Negi, though.

Meh, maybe I'm just predisposed against the half-sibling issue. I guess I just don't see a comedic, light-hearted manga like this having "serious" themes outside of young romance.

Its coming on March this year. The anime sucked, but the PS2 games Konami are very well done. Plus, no bad character desgin.

I'm hoping to see Misora in combat again. I mean when I first started reading the series, I kept wondering "who is she?" Untill I saw her Mahora Tourney working as a mage in training. Plus, she has her own pactio card.Also,from what I heard from sourses, it looks like she'sdoing this because she is trying to fullfill a wish from her parrents before they passed away…

As for the 2 remaining comrades of the Thousand Master, I'm mostly wondering who's the white-haired kid in the picture? Since it was years ago, he'll probably be about 20-25 when Negi encounters him. The huge guy with the sword in the pic...Not sure about him

Misora's parents are dead? I assumed her mage training mirrored the average wizarding family of Harry Potter; magic is a tradition, and as a representative of the next generation, it falls upon that individual to uphold family honor!

…still, I have forgotten most of what I had read prior to the Kyoto trip. I will need to brush up on some things.

Oh, and do not rule out the possibility of another Negima series premiering after the manga has progressed passed a certain point. It will be guaranteed to be of a higher quality (especially because of Negima's popularity!) and I've heard a simmilar situation applies to Inu-Yasha (source: here).

Now, how about Zazie Ranyday?

She truely is a mysterious character. In fact the only time she spoke directly to Negi was volume 9. She's a good circus performer and I hear the rest of her family are also trained acrobats…

As for Takane, she really has a huge phobia against Takana, a droid she fought in the Mahora Tourney and in the Underground canals they went to save Takamichi. Though in the second time there was an army of them. Who could blame her. I mean that droid did rip her clothes out in front of everybody. And in the canals, they blasted both Mei and Takane's clothes away. Lets not forget what happened in the end of her match with Negi.

Back to Chao. You think she is stronger than Ku Fei, I mean she is a bit mysterious and she migt be holding back against Ku in sparring.

Also, about Mana Tatsumiya, I noticed her surname is different in her pactio card.. Maybe that's what it translates into English.
Not to mention she gave Negi a different impression on volume 10 LOL.

About Fate Avveruncus.I'm thinking he might return. Eva didn't exactly finish him off. She intended to but he ran away using an illusion. But I'm sure he'll be easy for Negi to take down. He received many training from Ku and Eva. So if it does happen, it will be a snap. Regardless he didn't get stronger over time.

I dunno; this is a tight spot, and although the people at Aquastar think Akamatsu's "predictable", I think there's a huge number of ways this could end nicely.

Methinks, though, that if Negi gets cursed, the curse would mostly likely keep him in his adult form. That wouldn't be too bad, though, because he could simply take a blue pill to masquerade as a child again…I mean, he's obviously mature enough to act fifteen, why can't he simply look it?

...

Remember that dream Ako had? Asuna seems to have prophetic dreams; why can't Ako? If not, something like this could happen:

Ako's starting to utter "I..l..lo...", and Negi puts a finger over her lips, winks, and says "I know". Hah, that solves everything quite nicely!

Personally, though, I think it would suck if 'Nagi' were not at the concert like in the dream. Bleh, that would be sucky; hopefully it doesn't happen.

Ha! I just reread volume one of Negima; there's a part where they're getting dressed and I could just notice the end of Ako's scar. Awesome.

But I hope this arc introduces Ako as more of a main character, permanently. I hope this isn't the only arc where she plays a "main character." She'd better not go back to a "support role" after all of this is over.

I doubt she'll be among the "we know Negi's a magi" group, of whom could be classified as "main characters". However, Ako mentioned something that might hint of a secret she's hiding.

Earlier, Evangeline mentioned that Setsuna probably dyes her hair and wears coloured contacts. Since coloured contacts make eye shade darker, it's safe to assume Setsuna might have light hair and light eyes.

…so does Ako (Chapter 122). I also notice she has a large scar across her back. Don't Setsuna's wings come out in about the same place?

It was during Setsuna and Evangeline's fight in the quarter finals of the Mahora Tourney. Evangeline wanted to piss of Setsuna enough for her to transform.

I always thought Ako looked awesome, though, unlike most of the other characters… if I picked the characters I thought looked the best/most interesting, Ako would probably be number one (followed by Zazie, then Setsuna.) It's just that her character was never really developed or, at least, given spotlight until now.

Well, from what Akamatsu's message wrote in vol 1, he says all of them are major characters have a unique personality of their own.

True the anime sucked, but the character maxisingles and the music was actually good in my opinion.

Oh, and yes, he was reffering to Ayaka's obsession with Negi.

The character desgin sticks to the manga as you noticed in the image I posted in the previous page about the 3rd game. She does realize that. In volume 9, when all the Mage teachers and students were gathered by Headmaster Konoe, Misora was also there (In her Nun suit.) and it looks like she saw Negi there. She knows but don't worry. She's also a mage and mages never rat on other mages on their secrets.

Asuna, Setsuna, Konoka, Mei, and Takane have found out about Misora being a mage in training. It was in volume 13 in the chapter before Negi fought Setsuna, Asuna caught a glimpse of her Pactio Card and it spelled Misora. When she accused Kasuga of her claim, she tries to deny the fact but Asuna makes her argument to her by telling her the fact she has seen Misora's pactio card.

I have some new info on the PS2 games.

The game will take place in a beachside resort and it looks like there will be more mini games, more tasks to be done and most of all, beachside game equals huge beach ecchi fan service and more akward peverted sutuations on Negi's toll.

The game comes out March 28. I think I'll import it. I really want to try it out.

The girls initially refuse to respect him, then decide he's cute. Most of the students have magical powers, and soon the class is casting spells, fighting vampires and subduing demons.

"Negima!" is an example of a "fan service" story: one that offers gratuitous cheesecake shots to titillate male readers. Panels are composed so the reader looks up the girls' skirts, important discussions take place in the bathtub and various spells blow the girls' clothes off. However, a pack of nubile females pursuing a prepubescent boy may not play as well in the U.S., where some might consider these images slightly suggestive of child molestation.

In contrast to the clarity of the artwork in "Fullmetal Alchemist," Akamatsu's drawings overflow with fussy details that often make them hard to read. The 31 girls in Negi's class look alike except for their hairdos, so the reader sometimes has trouble determining who's saying what to whom.

I actually think Fullmetal Alchemist was one of the most poorly drawn manga in a mainstream book. The character designs are good, but they are drawn serial; the Anime corrected those mistakes quite nicely.

Yes, the fanservice is excessive, but the whole matter is cultural; I don't see female panties distributed out of vending machines, even in the graduate studies building of UCD. I mean, really; I started to ignore the fanservice within volume one; I rarely notice it until someone outside the manga or a character points something out relating to it.

In regard to the characters...many resemble Love Hina gals, but aside from the many incarnations of Motoko (of whom Akamatsu personally favours), most of the characters look different. Heck, Asuna and Chisame are both based on Naru, and they look very different, even when Chisame takes off her glasses.

If I had to pick the arc with a lot of fan service, it would be the Mahora Festival.

I mean it has cute cosplaying, more crazy secenes (like when Negi frenched kissed Asuna in vol 10.), and lots more of what you just mentioned.

Actually, she did. It was durring her fight with Negi in vol 3 when she fell from the bridge and Negi caught her. Oh and they aren't customized.

To get those types you have to request VIA sprite shops the mods hold and run those forums.

One member got a customized one with 3 characters in snow boarding gear.

Though they cost tokens (Or Lunch tickets. You get 2 every post you make.)

The customized ones, you can choose your own desgin.

When I get enogh tokens to get a customized one (I currently have 144 and it costs 250 tokens) I'll request Nagi wearing a CP9 uniform.

They can do that and trust me, the mods sprite customizing kicks ass.

Akamatsu states in his blog at Ailove.net that Negima wont be wraping up so quick. He says it will take another 20 volumes to end it. I'm expecting a good series for a very long time.

My friend was like, "You have it all on your computer, right? So why buy it?"

He doesn't understand... with good manga, you want to own a physical copy! And besides, Negima is done well enough (the translations, I mean) that the company deserves my support.

Oh, Akamatsu seems to have spoken. Looks like 125 will have a happy ending...nice. I couldn't stand it if Negi broke Ako's heart, which was very likely. This is also the end of the Ako-mini arc. Starting next week, it appears we'll either have Zazie or Chao featured.

I found this a while ago on the Answerman column in ANN…

On the Wikipedia article about Mahou Sensei Negima, I read that there were going to be several revisions in the anime, because it was noticed that there were many protests about discrepancies and mistakes on the storyline and animation. Some episodes will be chaged, while some other completely redone! Some time ago, it was announced the licensing of Negima in the US. Will the American version include this revisions?

**The short answer is "yes".

The long answer is that the Negima anime turned out to be pretty polarizing and controversial in Japan; when it originally aired on TV, the fans pitched a fit. The animation was cheap, the character designs didn't look right, the show didn't really follow the manga as closely as it could, and the show exhibited a whole slew of other problems that could very well have been avoided.

Lucky for the fans, the creators felt the same way and decided that for the DVD release, Negima would be touched-up. In many places (and yeah, sometimes entire episodes), the show would be re-animated completely, with a few story revisions as well. As far as I know, the original TV airings were never released on DVD in Japan; the only version you can get are the touched-up editions that meet the creators' personal stamp of approval. There's no reason to believe that FUNimation's release will contain the inferior TV version.**

Ayaka's the most overtly fond of Negi; she started hitting on him four seconds after he entered the (then) 2-A classroom. Her obsession is even close to a lolita complex.

…but, blood? Nosebleeds usually come around when someone is embarassed about seeing something they find erotically stimulating. Notice Takamichi and Negi don't get nosebleeds, but the "perverts" in Naruto do.

Therefore, Ayaka was turned on by that costume. What makes it funny is that she's apparently totally straight; I guess we don't really know the depths of her issues. :laugh:

One funny thing is she's usually a Shota-kun, but when it comes to Kotaro, it looks different.

I guess the impression he gave her in volume 8 by crashing into her at the door and calling her an oba-san (In AQS fan scans) really must have made her dislike him.

Chizuru…She's scary at times...Especially when she keeps trying to do a folk remedy on Kotaro which is....Ummm, sticking a green onion in his..You know..Despite all that, she eally has a good motherly instinct among others and mainly Kotaro. As for speculations of the Nightmare Circus, a show Zazie invited Negi into in the beggining of volume 9, almost everyone in Mahora Academy and AQS forums is desperate and hoping for that to happen next after the Ako affair is over. Also, some say she might be the one next to find out about Negi's mage powers. After all, in the class roster, her club activities mainly involve magic stuff but not real serious mage stuff.
