No, this a "We hate the fucking cat" thread and I intend to keep it that way.
Ogata and Sugimoto are my 2 favorite characters. Enjoy seeing them tear each other apart
Yeah, Ogata is my favorite too with all his creepy psycho character. Still doesn't mean I don't want to see him getting what he deserves after all he's done.
9 lives lost in the train to hell

This train ride surely has been proven something else. I thoroughly enjoyed it so far. As a matter of fact, the entire final act is amazing. We spent years getting the skins to find the gold and then when we finally get to it the finale really is just pure amazing chaos.
I'm betting we end the series around chapter 320s.
I mean, the psychotic episode is right in character for him, but I felt part of it was to rob our co-protagonist of her first homicide. Which is fair, but lessens the whole thing a bit.
Regardless, it was really entertaining.
Fellas, it's been a hina hina ride but the train to hell reaches destination in 3 chapters.

Not a surprise but still a bit sad thinking about it.
3 chapters seem just so soon, now I get why suddenly everyone was dying one after the other.
really seemed like 5-7 chapters could do the work, but 3 is just so…short...
Shit, I saw people saying that "Sachi" can be read as 31. So ending in 314 could mean Sugimoto dies.
NOOOOOOOOOOOODA!!!!
Never expected him to come out of this alive tbh.
! Dale is proud of the pocket gold trick.

AAAA
the end is really tele-novela like! we have Sugimoto's hand apparently slipping of from the sword, Asirpa is probably in the line of Tsurumi's bullet, Tsurumi being BLIND BY THE GOLD is really poetic
damn that's a good climax
Don't really get the explosion flashback but that doesn't stop me from finding this chapter amazing.
Consider me a non-Japanese fan who's not happy about it.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooda
That was one hell of a ride.
I fully believe that Sugi will end up alive. I don't care how dim it all seems now, that's just what needs to happen.
Man, the final battle taking place during a train ride is something so 90s ADVENTURE MOVIES that I can't help but to keep a huge smirk on my face. It was joyfull till the end. Also, I think EH Scans need to be commended as well; their work seems to be pretty good when it come to translation, and their notes at the end of the chapter were really instructive and broadened the horizon of the series. Noda is a pretty good mangaka, and EH Scans were the ones that let me get to know this. I'm grateful!

Same impression here… The fact that the piercing sword got stabed in the floor made me doubt it, because I thought it would be difficult for Sugi to get free. But maybe the clash … Noda knows.. But, yes, my feeling is, in the end, Sugi will confirm he's inmortal...
I like the eyes of the chapter, full of deep emotions and drama. From Tsuru's shocked eyes, to Tsuru's deep sadness, to Asirpa's deep anxiety, to Tsuru's horror evil, to Sugi's deep love and care…
I actually didn't expect him to make it out alive ever since his fight with Nikaidou. Don't care either way as long as the outcome is handled as well as everything else so far.
i read the chapterin the end. It was not my favourite from the train arc. Whatever choice is made, I think i will be happy. It was a great ride and it will be a great reread
Hina Hina, boys.
! Nothing crazy this chapter. Well except that Shiraishi escaped into Boutarou's dream.
Last chapter raw: [第314話] ゴールデンカムイ - 野田サトル | となりのヤングジャンプ (tonarinoyj.jp)
It doesn't end with a bang, but it suits the series. I don't seem to need much else from it! Looking forward for Noda next series (as plainly stated by himself), and the tonkobon corrections/new pages.
Yes it is a bit of a hasty end without the feelings of the last few chapters. Maybe it will be better in the full volume from what is written in the afternote.
Will we have a Shiraoshi sequel ?
Yes, it's a bit hasty… The 'action' tag of the series would deserve some panels to see how Sugi was able to survive in that situation, but well, he simply survived.
The romantic guy in my would love to see Sugi and Ume entering in the second part of their romance. But it seems Sugi went for the ainu way of live with Asirpa, because sure he at least made himself the question.
As for the rest it's a nice end to me too.
Looking forward for sequels or new Noda's series. Great author!!! (I didn't know he has a wife nor wouldn't guess it at all).
Let me share this pic from twitter:
We see or is implied in the last chapter that Shiraishi jumped in the water to get Sugimoto.
It's not a bad chapter in itself but I really HATE if the last chapter just skips ahead in time without actually concluding the action from the previous chapter. I really like let's call them "aftermath" chapters where we're able to see the immediate reactions of having just resolved conflicts. To me seeing the characters emotional reactions the exact moment they realize is finally over is not something I like to skip, it's actually the thing I'm looking forward the most. I'm the type of reader who considers this their payoff. A timeskip completely ignores that.
That being said, final chapter works. It's not a bad outcome or anything that ruins the great ride that we had so far. It's a worthy conclusion. If just feel that we'd have had a least one more chapter between the previous one and this one.
I drag this back from the dead for a hot take:

In a dream, I imagined One Piece having an as epic ending as Golden Kamui...
