Yeah, she looks great but not for that price unfortunately. How did POPs manage to get so expensive anyway? I've been wondering for YEARS. It can't just be inflation because these things used to be $30-$40 each, and $60 at most for big ambitious ones. Now they're well over $200 on average. There's been some quality increases too of course, but I don't think what we're getting justifies the now 4x (or more) asking price of what we had originally. What happened?

I clearly remember Marineford Newgate being around 100

The Neo and Strong World versions of the SH crew in around 2007/2008 were pretty cheap. I recall even Sailing Again being pretty affordable. But yeah they're expensive now but the quality is arguably better. Considering the likes of HLJ or Amiami never get stock makes me feel that they're just being treat as limited items.
You can actually go on Amiami and see listings for a lot of the releases. Neo Luffy, Nami, Zoro and Sanji were around 3400 yen each. Neo Chopper was 1550 yen.
Interestingly some of the older releases aren't worth a ton. Strong World Ace and Shanks are cheaper than they were on release. As is Law, Lucci and Benn Beckman.
I recently paid 6200 yen for a nendoroid of Fubuki from Hololive. Excluding shipping…

Yeah i got some older POPs really cheap last year, between 4000 and 6500 Yen. Mostly villains and Usopp. I think Mandarake still has them listed with pretty low prices.
Some of the newer ones tho … I pre ordered the Wano Nami figure when it was announced and i think the price almost tripled over time. Probably also because it was limited but other figures also just got more expensive.

so i'll pass once again.......Been buying POPs since before Franky or Sogeking were produced. They did used to be like $40. Franky was the first one with extra alternate pose parts and a real chain. After he was released the line started getting more expensive little by little. The figures started getting better sculpts and paint jobs and increasing in size and complexity with alternate limbs.

Nope, they seemed to normally be $30-$40 before 2010. Then they all of a sudden started to skyrocket in price afterwards.

must have been using some discount sites or something then,
because i started collecting the POPs with the first batch of re-releases that came out in sep. 2007.
and i vividly remember those cost around 45 euros each. -
Where can I preorder POP Yamato?

Awesome thanks. A bit more than I would like to pay, but I dont know why the figure isnt showing up at the regular spots.

Haven't bought anything in a while Japan still isn't shipping to Canada. Happy to see this community is still going!

Hey guys. It's been years since I posted anything here, but with the recent OP merch revival following the end of Wano/Netflix Live Action I've been getting back into it. Anyone else still collecting? The new SHF line is turning out to be a lot of fun!
-
The only OP figure i ordered during the last 2 years is a Gear 5 Luffy which was way too expensive. But i really wanted a good scale of Luffy in my collection ... It's not released yet though.
I'd probably buy a few more if other companies would release figures but ... Megahouse and all. -
I've been picking up a few things here and there. I've been loving the Look Up series of figures from MegaHouse in particular.
Gear Fifth Luffy and Yamato release this month, and Kaido, Big Mom, Sanji, and Nami all release later throughout the year.
