! Well, everyone who jumped in time were Candidates, no?
! Nope. Everyone who was a Candidate on the Ajira Plane was sent to the 70ies. But everybody except the Others were effected by the Time Jumps, including Rose and Bernard, Vincent, all the redshirts on the beach.
-
! How do we know all of those weren't candidates though? Sure most of them were nameless, but there were about 70 survivors (at the time of the time jumps, only about 20-40 were left alive IIRC) and 108 candidates, right? It's feasible that the survivors were all candidates at the time?

! There could be a case made for this, but…..Vincent was a candidate too? The dog?? I don`t think Jacob was that desperate xD And why would Rose and Bernard then change to non candidates later on? Nothing really changed for them or in their personalities to warrant that.
It
s really great btw, imo, that we can still have discussions like this two years after the end of the show. Discussing and developing crazy theories was always one of the funnest things you could do as a big fan of the show and it
s good that they left enough room open for different interpretations. It`s exactly the way it should be. -
! Not sure about Vincent, but Rose and Bernard took a stance of neutrality by that point. It's possible that once they did so, they no longer became candidates? As for Vincent… I dunno. XD
-
! Isn't anything the person is carrying or touching time travels too? So the dog could've been touched by Rose or Benard each time jump. Just sayin. But I honestly believe they were writing it as they go by that point and just decided to throw them in for sake of it. Plus, why the fuck did they appear in the purgatory to pass on with the rest of the cast even though they have clearly stated they wanted nothing to do with them.
-
They wanted nothing to do with their war battle thing.
The island was still the most important time in their lives.

Guess who's late to the party.
But seriously, finished the series a few days ago, and I really liked that ending, particularly that very last scene. I had to ponder about the whole series overall, while some things were left vague, and some other things were answered. They just needed a little digging on my part, and in the end, I'm pretty darn happy with how things turned out. Speaking of 'digging', I wasn't aware of the epilogue of Season 6 that included Walt until a few minutes ago.
And I find it hilarious that essentially any mystery involving Walt can be summed up with: "Because he's special." And I'm ok with that, given the context of the show, with a magic island and whatnot.
One thing on my mind, though. I assume it's safe to go without them spoiler tags, right?
The purple sky at the end of season 2. So Desmond activated the failsafe switch, which means it activated the nuke underground, right? I've been lead to believe that the nuke didn't actually blow up in 1977, and the hole was clogged with random pieces of metal, and the hatch was built on top of it all. While I'm sure that if a nuke was blown up in the 'present' timeline underground like that, it would've had a bigger blast radius then we saw, but you could chalk it up to the island's magic for absorbing a lot of the blow. So am I to assume the purple light was probably a weird light from the nuke exploding?

Also, my thoughts on the haters' reactions to the ending of Lost is essentially summed up by one of Joker's last monologues in Arkham City. If you've played the game, you know which one I'm talking about.
I'm not gonna post a video though, because I know some people here haven't played the game, and the top comments give away a huge spoiler to the game itself.

Ok, this hasn
t really anything to do with the Rewatch, but I am rewatching the series right now. As you may know, ABC released a lot of Lost podcasts while the show was on, featuring the producers of the show Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse answering fan questions. The guys are pretty entertaining so I sometimes listen to their podcast after watching an episode. So, it
s my first time listening to the ones for Season 6 and then, holy crap you guys, they have a question from an English teacher from Japan called Greg!! Oh man, I think thats so amazing. Its our Greg! I
m sure he knows about this, right??
