Well, um first impressions aren't that difficult to decode in this series, but okay.
And as far as the Tankui thing goes, we have that joke with Chopper, and Tanuki are known for transformations, great physical strength, and they're know for wearing straw hats (however seeing as how the main character wears a strawhat it would be foolish to repeat that design) regardless Chopper wears a hat and is a member of the Straw hat pirates. As far as the testicles and drunkness goes, those themes are non-existeant in Chopper however, you could replace Sake (and testis possibly snicker) with Rumble Balls and that would fit the theme of a Tanuki's habit of becoming drunk and causing rampages which Chopper does; the control of such state just changes over the time-skip.
Its strange that people are so determined for jokes and themes to be repeated, like its a necessity or something.

His signature is wrong, and Oda never really make the devil fruit type hard to figure out there's always a clear answer based on the first time the fruit is used. For example every person that has a Zoan fruit transforms upon reveling they have an ability even the Mythical Zoans who have paramecia/logia like abilities do this. For example,when Marco is in Kizaru's explosion you can see his silhouette which is winged, validating that he has transformed. Kinemon has nothing like this.

Both of them absorb seemly infinite amounts of matter. Making Numa Numa and Yami Yami the only two logia type devil fruits at this time that can absorb things instead of allowing things to break them apart or pass through them.

I thought you didn't need to change yourself into the creature to be able to use its special powers, but maybe is more logical to think they can only use them once they have transformed.

Just because Kinemon doesn't know about devil fruits doesn't mean he is inept in the use of his fruit… He lives in the isolated Wano Country which is based on Feudal Japan, so to him his fruit is magic. He might be one of the most experienced Zoan users we'll ever see. Who knows. It's all pure speculation at this point.

There is absolutely no reason to think he would have to transform fully or partially into an animal to utilize an aspect of a zoan fruit. An ability associated with the Hito Hito no mi is enlightenment. When Chopper's in his full reindeer form he doesn't lose the mental capacity of a human just because the rest of his body isn't using his power. It has in fact been shown that individuals can be affected by and use abilities granted by zoan fruits without the physical transformation. Those of you thinking he's not a zoan for any number of reasons are being absolutely idiotic.

He sliced the pacifista without using a named attack.
He basically played around with Hyouzo, who we could arguably say was stronger then Hody pre-power up since he managed to block Gear 2nd Luffy and poison him.
When Hyouzo was awakened the same way as Hody with the pills, and Zoro beat him easily, without getting touched, and sliced his swords in half.
Zoro as well trained with Mihawk, who is a Shichibukai as well, so we could assume he would be at least used to dealing with attacks and defense on that level.

Well, at the moment I'm not sure how to prove to you, Zoro and Sanji aren't "Mihawk level" despite the persons that trained them. Personally, I think to take on a Yonkou most of the crew would have to be near the fighting force of a Shichibukai, vwhich could be why Luffy said he wasn't worried about Law trying to betray him.
Apart from that lets focus on Law for a moment. You feel Law was portrayed as Shichibukai level. Could you explain what made you feel that way?

Honestly, I think what's needed to protect an Island is a name. A name that inspires fear to low level people primarily.
Kind of the way Garp put up a sign that he was protecting Windmill village.
I think if he stayed on the Island full time he could protect it, Like Crocodile on Alabasta. But I'd wager even Mihawk would have a problem protecting an Island like Fishman island which gets constant traffic by pirates without always being there himself.
As far as the Shichibukai go, I think it's plausible to say there below in strength compared to an Admiral. At some point the crew has to be able to surpass an Admiral type of strength on the way to defeating a Yonkou.
I'm not sure story wise, when you would see Zoro surpassing Mihawk, I think we would normally assume it would be towards the end. But that could change.
