Onepunch-Man (redrawn version)

how dare you .

I shamelessly stole Baroness' sig and IrishLuigi's first gif for use on a faraway forum.
I hope you guys do not mind.
Noooooooooooooooo….well okay. Lol.
-
Btw,this happens to be my first exposure to Murata and I know that he only draws in this.
Is his writing as good as his artwork?Does he write at all?

I haven't heard of him really doing anything solo that was published like a manga or web comic. Silence mention a little 3D comic he made, but I don't think it was ever translated. My first encounter with him was Eyeshield 21. I'm not into sports manga normally but I enjoyed football even more because of it. Helped me understand the rules and stuff. Also Hiruma, my avatar is my favorite manga character evar.
-
I think I can guess what hero name Saitama will get once he advances in hero ranks.
Jump and thier lousy standards would pass up on a comic this entertianing.
One-Punch man is posted in Young Jump online spin off magazine. By the same Shueisha. So there's that.
I fucking love this manga. Personally, I think the gifs we currently have are too slow, so here's my take.
The first one is an improvement. The second one, however, is way too low quality and scaled down.

The only writing Murata has done is for his one shots Minds, Madofuki Park, Blust! and his short one volume series Hetappi Manga Kenkyuujo R (gag manga about making manga). For all of his longer series, Eyeshiled21, Donten Prism Solar Car and current Onepunch-man, he worked only as an artist.

First one… Isn't fast enough!
Second one is a good take.

Battle of century -
Ended with one punch.
-
But can he connect with that one punch?
-
Haha. Good stuff there. Gonna be great when he starts to encounter more S rank heroes and threats.
-
Genos hair got way cooler after Saitama almost punched him.Great chapter.
-
Almost feel bad for more serious, action-oriented manga running that are getting put to shame by this gag superhero manga's fight choreography and art.
-
Movement wise.
You may not notice it, be several spreads move with the eye as you scroll down a single page, and also when click to go on a next page. It actually does take advantage of how a viewer looks at a page on the web.I get the scrolling part but the animation type scenes were lost on me cuz I was reading on my phone
-
I want to buy this manga in book form. Someone should start a Twitter movement letting Viz know that this series is gaining a following.
-
nooo chapter 18 was too short. D:

I wholly agree. It was like…a minute or so long (though they were gloriously well spent). That's my beef with this serie, each chapter is too short.
Regardless each panel was fricken awesome.
-
This is the first chapter that has diverged from the original webcomic. Granted only the pacing is different.
-
This shit is good stuff.
-
@OnePunch:

Lmao…A true fan has arrived.
-
Calling Saitama the apocalypse would be a huge understatement.

It's going to be incredibly awesome (albeit hard to follow through with) if he follows his signature's rules every time he posts.
His posts will be like one singular punch instead of tons of little ones!

I like this. OnePunch Man. Make it so!
-
Shorty but a goody. Every chapter is great. And I'm still surprised by that.
So, Saitama can hold back his punches? I really expected that poke to OHKO Genos.
 wait… I just realized....
Onepunch-man...
can be abbreviated as OP Man.
and he certainly is. That isn't a a coincidence, right?Edit: I'm calling it, his next costume is going to have the letters "OP" on his chest. Or at least he will have an emblem or logo.
-
Every chapter of this manga is amazing. I'm getting a little worried that Genos is going to be evil though since he's willing to do anything for power.
-
I'm slightly hoping OnePunch-Man becomes the main villain on accident.
-
At this rate I wonder where the author is going to take this serie. Is it going to be long and glorious or short and sweet? There are so many ways this story can be handled.
-
oh man
one punch man vs luffy's crew.
one punch man wins, gets the treasure of one piece like, right after. Becomes pirate king, doesn't do shit with the title.
luffy's mind breaks. -
I'm actually looking forward to a goofy enemy that happens to be immune to punches. Something like Fat Buu but without being an actual threat.

'enter kicks' .

Onepunch-Man volume covers
Holy hell.
-
Oh wow. Do want.
-
A big LOL at how the first cover portraits Saitama like a big ass serious hero, while you can see the usual one small in the corner of the second volume.
I really hope this will be released outside of Japan -
The cover of Volume 1,oh my god.
-
Onepunch-Man volume covers
Holy hell.
These have to be some of the most badass looking covers I've seen.
Both are crazy awesome avatar material.
-
…...dies of all the awesome.
-
This seriously needs an english release (and major success). Its good enough to compete with the best at Shonen Jump, if the quality ramains consistent.
-
I love how Saitama is carrying a grocery bag on the first volume cover.
Killing monsters on your way from the grocery store. You don't get much more badass than that.

The leeks were a nice touch lol. Hot damn that's awesome.

! In one of the bonus chapters when he's in mid-training (he still has his hair, although he has a bald spot), he kills a giant bug monster while casually jogging.
! The bug monster wipes the floor with 3 super heroes prior to that. -

those 1-2 below the actual chapters
Not translated, but easy to follow
-
You can add one more to the list of readers.
The premise and gags are awesome, and Murata is just visually stunning.
-
(1. Does anyone know where I can import these volumes online? And (2. Anybody have any idea how many chapters are covered in both volumes altogether?

You may want to wait, if this manga gets popular enough (which it actually is) it'll probably get brought over here.
-
What's with the great covers lately. Love the first one, but tiny Saitama on the second is better.
those 1-2 below the actual chapters
There's only one extra chapter though. Second entry is just an early draft of the pilot.

You can already preorder volumes 1 and 2 at CDJapan. Number of chapters depends on the number of pages, and judging by the pagecount, it will probably be close to 8-10 chapters a volume.
-
That extra chapter was cool. I bet the current translator will do it soon given his pace.
Oh man those volume covers are just amazing. I must have them.

he said he will only translate the first one-shot cause the second one is just an early version of the first chapter, and even the dialogs are almost the same.
the more I look at the covers, the more I fall in love with this manga
-
Remember how I heniously stole images to use on faraway forums?I used em' as avatar'n'sig in a local Naruto forum, and by the end of yesterday, one guy got intrigued enough to check it out.
Today he PM' and tells me that this manga's awesome and that Saitama's a bro.
Just as planned.
Imma spread the word of Onepunchman further in my country.Gonna pester my Skype buddy next!
-
You also have to love how the diving board for this book is not a lofty one: you can just jump right in with no prior knowledge of manga.
To really appreciate it when it gets all spread-y, then yeah reading more manga could be useful, but I could really see this catching on as a series people read to get into manga. It would be a much better replacement than some of the other gate guardians to the manga world. Even if it turns out to be just a viral thing.
