I hope the poll will alright.. I took Rap and R&B under Hip hop and hardrock is almost like rock.. And I dont exactly know what trance is, but it is somekind of genre.
I love Hip hop (Rap, RnB), and sometimes I listen to techno, but I like hip hop much more.
No bashing please. 
I like hip-hop, cuban, reggae, soul, and more that I can't remember. Except I don't like the hip-hop with a bad message anymore. I don't understand punk rock or metal, can people tell me why it's appealing to them?
I really like Rock. Its awsome. I can listen to it all day if it was a band that i like.
Clicked on rock then realized there was a 'punk' option. Oh well, I like both of them about the same anyways. B) Although I listen to quite a variety of music…..
Jazz. Not only is it one of the most versatile genres, but it's pretty much the foundation of all modern music.
I like jazz and classic rock fromthe 60s nad 70s.I cant stand the new rock.
errm…by the way ,why theres no pop rock,hard rock,punk rock ? :huh:..but i choosed rock ..cause there ain't any for me to choose of those ..i'd like pop rock and punk rock ..
My favourite bands are rockbands, so I chose Rock. But my music collection also contains Pop and Classical music.^^

Coz, that's Rock? I dont want 10 options with different types of rock… Too much. 
I will hear any kind of music whatever the genre as long that it's good but the ones i mostly prefer are Power Metal and Punk.
jazz… i enjoy jazz more than i enjoy the other genres, altho i do listen to the other genres (except metal)...
i voted rock, because it holds in so many different genres and options, and just never gets boring.
i like punk as well, especially the old bands, like the ramones.
metal can be good too, and sometimes pop is the way to go.
i just like that the kind of music that has groovy melodies and the choruses run like small animals.
which is why i really don't like r'n'b and hiphop, because instead of running like a maniac, it just rhytmically shakes its ass along the way without really getting forward.
and jazz is too.. uneven for me, i can't listen to something that makes me put my whole concentration on it.
Metal is my first love but variety is the spice of life. I love classic rock, classical, blues, jazz, world music, most flavors of techno, alternative, some new age, gothic, industrial, ethereal, old school country and western, some rap (I'm picky about rap - I love it or hate it).
I love music and there isn't much I won't listen to.
I voted rock, because it is the basic genre that covers my two favorites: Classic Rock (Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Zeppelin) and Japanese Rock.
I like rock, but more of metal. Not the pointless kind, like, the good kind….(small voice) What good kind? Aww shut up.
Argh… I don't know :S I'm more of a Film person than a music person and so I'm quite a big fan of soundtracks because I like music where I can see a scene in my head. So I own a lot of soundtracks or songs played in films.
I guess I'll have to say rock, as the majority of non film linked music I like is that

Deep, extreme, doomy, poetical, raw, atmospheric, groovy: Anything's good. I also listen to some good rock bands such as Rainbow, Jethro Tull and stuff but metal is priceless for me. Far from whoever's taste, I think that in the (mostly underground/extreme) metal schene music as art has evolved seriously, more than other forms of music. No flaming other genres!
I like a lot of different kinds of music, but mostly sub-genres of rock. I'm most attracted to progressive rock (or Art Rock, or in other words bands that like to do 20-minute long classical-influenced wanking). Stuff like Frank Zappa, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, Yes, Genesis, etc.. I also listen classic rock. But I also like classical and jazz.
I have to admit I'm just listening to a lot of anime soundtracks right now. 
My taste in music is extremely diverse, spanning from Disney songs to Rammstein, Eminem to…well a lot of Danish groups youv'e never heard of.
As a result, I didn't vote; It was impossible, since "weird, often rude, perverse, meaningless humouristic songs" wasn't there.
Death metal to German rock to Authority Zero to Mindless Self Indulgence. Anywhere in there….I'll listen to it.

I'm fond of rock music myself. I don't like the new-age songs, but I love the classics ^^.
Go techno. Really, "dance" and "freestyle," but they fall under there, I guess. I haven't listened to much trance lately.
But really, I could listen to just about any type. Depends on the song.
In honesty, I love just about all types of music. I'll go with anything that sounds good, in my opinion.
I listen to rock the most, but I still love Jazz the most. Hell, I recently bought the Blue Brothers movie soundtrack; probably the best purchase I've made in a while.
JAZZ ! I am a total jazz nut. I listen to Miles Davis and Charlie Parker all the time, and more recent musicians like Pat Metheny and Charlie Hunter and oooh. So good.

This is a pretty tough question as I think I like music from pretty much all the genres, from Ella Fitzgerald to Johnny Cash to Operation Ivy. Most of the artists I like would be more rock than anything, but the ones I like the most regularly cross genre boundaries. I guess I just think its kind of limiting to say I only like a certain type of music as it would hinder me from enjoying other forms. Maybe I just like variety.
I picked Metal only because Korn and SoaD are my favorite bands, but I don't listen to much else. I listen to a lot of alternative rock and 60's music, and Jazz when I'm writiing. The only real thing I can't stand is country.
you can't say the new louder rock is bad. listen to the instrumentals. try playing them, its insane. now bands like linkin park can go to hell and simple plan (new age, pop punk)

punk music is just as expressive as metal. you can't really appreciate music til you try playing it.

Generally i love Rock music most!!! I love Linkin park, HIM (they aren't clear rock but it's a kind of this...) and many many Japanese rock other bands like Glay, Dir en Grey, Gackt (solo) etc...
