Just ordered off Mandarake but they just sent me an email confirming it, havent put anything in to pay for it yet. Is this normal?

I guess it was only a confirmation order that they received your order. From this point it is their decision if they will give the item to you or someone else who ordered the same item (at about the same time). ^^
You will get another e-mail with a payment request if you are the chosen one XDThe first e-mail will always be "Thank you for your order"

Mandarake actually has physical stores, the items online are all in-store too so it's possible even for someone in Japan to walk in and buy what you were trying to order.

As far as I remember if you order something on mandarake that item immediately becomes "sold out". So at best you could only be unlucky enough for someone to physically buy it while you're waiting for the online payment request. And even that would only happen if they don't have a system where they can check the availability of the items they sell right there on the stores.
I had one very bad and one very good exchange with Mandarake:
The bad one was having my order cancelled by them just because I asked them if it was ok to ship the figure to an address that wasn't labeled as my main address on paypal. It was just a matter of preference and they just… BAM!!! Canceled it and told me to make the order again, obviously someone else grabbed it before I could! F*ck you mister.
The good one was ordering a 1/8 Miku figure with a damaged box. They must have somehow messed up because the box of the figure that arrived had the box in mint condition. So yeah, I bought her for 1000 yen less with no damage, yay. They probably had no damaged Miku's so they send me an undamaged one to honor the order? I hope so, otherwise someone who ordered a mint Miku got pretty dissapointed. -

If I'm not mistaken, they only check for online orders at certain times of day (opening and closing time maybe?). So if you ordered in the middle of the day Japan time, they probably wouldn't check for orders and go gather your items until the end of the day.

Optimally all of those stores should share an online stock manager so that in case a client shows up at Nakano store (for example) and they don't have what the client requests there, they can check if another of their stores has it in stock and ask them for it.
Over here we have a single store which only manages the online order status at the end of the day, but whenever a figure is physically sold or ordered online the stock goes down. Did you ever have that issue with mandarake?

I thought that too at first but there is not even the tiniest wrinkle on it. I mean… it could have even gotten damaged a tiny bit during shipping, but not even that! It arrived in 100% perfect condition, as if fresh from the factory.

That would be ideal, but I believe that they're systems aren't quite so advanced. They seem to operate individually of each other. Also, since they have only used items, if a client requested an item and it was out of stock, even if another store had it it's possible it wouldn't be in the same condition.

sweeet. HUGE amount of parcels arrived today. Got my Samus (the big sexy one), Great Deep set and Attack Motions.
Great Deep was ok. Got Robin and Chopper but bleh. Not Shirahoshi or Bonney. Got Drake, Franky (kinda yay since I shoulda gotten him), MOriah and Sengoku. So if Anyone wants to trade them for others in the lines (I stll need both Nami versinos) gimme a shout.
So it was true then, the rare one from this set was bonney, the common of this set are : robin franku chopper sengoku moria and drake. What a difficult tasks to collect secret, and bonney+shirahosi as they will be in a different set. As usual I'm waiting for your photos and review cyber. Even for the samus :D

It might be a little hard to find it now but it's surely worth the money.

Shirahoshi & Beckman POP arrived today from HLJ! Another SAL record, shipped on 12th arrived 23rd! SAL only taking a couple of days longer than EMS these days makes me happy :0) Anyway, didn't really want Shirahoshi, but my daughters eyes lit up when she saw it and she cried when I took it away so decided to give it to her :) It's now displayed (MISB) in her room ;) Hoping she'll be a big One Piece fan when she's older :)
No time to unbox Beckman yet, but expect photo's in the next week or so. Thank god there are no new releases this week! I need some time to save before Brook, Robin & Usopp are released ><

Yesterday i received Grandline Ships - Thousand Sunny from 1Up. You have to put on close to 150 miniature stickers and assemble a few parts. Tweezers are your friends! Was alot of fun and took me 2 nights to complete. Of course it has nothing on the Chogokin….but i do love Banpresto and collect all the Grandline lines so i had to get it. Getting my hopes up for Moby Dick and the rest of this line. :)

I receieved my set and only got the 6 commons, no Shira, Bonney or Bon Clay. I'm happy though, just wish Bonney wasn't the super rare, I was really happy when she was part of the set. Oh well. My favourite is Robin and Sengoku is pretty cool. I really don't like Chopper though its all hat.

I got Vol.24. It's pretty decent. I have to collect WCF because it's hard to get a collection of many different One Piece characters at a decent size (MBH is too small XD). So yeah, I'm getting all further volumes as well… all I hope now is for Strong World to get a re-issue... but that probably will only happen in my dreams XD

^nice gomugomuno!! Ehehe That's really great to see it with the original art. For this set I only got Lucci at the arcades (they did have a lot of the others though). I really hate it when they put black lines on characters faces. I agree with cyber robin, I feel the effort was put into the special set, since Shakki is really great as is handsome Duval, with little to no paint errors.

My fave is ShuShu in that line. So simple yet the way they made him was just so perfect. Love the extra dog food too. Amazes me how they can put extras in with him but not with South Bird lol

As adorable he is I don't see the worth in the price. (quick to release tho btw) shoulda been included as an alt version of the regular one this month as an incentive to buy the reissue.

Thanks to that pic somehow I decided not to buy the CP9 set. I hate the thick lines on the eyes.And maggie, your Shakki pics just made me considering buying the WCF fans polling set.

I think bootleg must look a bit ugly so people would know that's a bootleg. So the lack of effort is understandable. Otherwise, they can't sell the real one. :p

Btw POP Shirahoshi having a re-release yesterday right? I think I missed it. But she's sold out anyway (AmiAmi, haven't check other). A bit expensive with 9240 JPY retail price (before pre-order discount).
