Alright! That's cool! Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike -Fight for the Future-, arguably the greatest Street Fighter eveer, is coming to PSN/XBL this year.

Captivate 2011 is going to start tomorrow and I know the embargo is suppose to last for a week (April 12, 2011) but I made a thread just in case someone leaks some good information regarding the game, because I didn't want the Super Street Fighter IV thread to be filled with awesome 3rd Strike shit.

Not only that, we can discuss 3rd Strike shit here and probably play each other before the re-release via GGPO and some other new online play crap.

The best part about Hugo is that playing him enforces absolute practice with the game's mechanics, at least for me.

I think the only weakness of 3rd strike is the questionable cast (Gill, Urien, Q, Twelve, Necro, Remy). A mix of the SF2 cast + best of the alpha + best of 3rd strike would have made the game perfect.

If you care more about the gameplay this is the game for you. It is pure hardcore. It is the anti MVC3.

For the record, Street Fighter III has my favorite Street Fighter cast counting original characters per iteration.

I really liked everybody and I thought it was awesome that they wanted a grappler-rushdown main character. It's too bad Alex was neglected immediately after.

I fought an A-ranked Makoto one time in SSFIV. This dude was really good, timed all her moves correctly, pulled off a lot of combos that I hadn't seen before, clearly knew what to do and when to do it.

I beat her with T.Hawk.

Then I felt kinda bad afterwards.

I think Makoto is actually really good in Supes, it's just that you can't really play on instinct or reflexes. If you can't get inside your opponent's head you're pretty much fucked.

It's her playstyle I dig more than anything though, which is probably a big reason I'm so looking forward to this game.

Also everything about it just looks undeniably delicious. There's plenty of fighting games I love but I really get the feeling this one will just click.

One of the challenges requires you to re-enact Daigo's legendary parry followed by the combo he used to finish off the Chun player.

Apparently there WILL be DLC, I expect at least 2I and NG stages and music.
Character-wise? At least 2I Sean (MAYBE 2I Ibuki, but then we'd have 2 Chuns @3@).

ATM Tiers look something like this-
Top: ChunLi, Yun, Ken, Makoto
High: Yang, Dudley, Urien
Mid-High: Oro, Ryu, Gouki
Mid: Ibuki, Hugo
Mid-Low: Alex, Q, Remy, Elena, Necro
Low: Twelve

Swap one or two characters between High and Mid-High, and Mid and Mid-Low and you'd still be right.

To be honest, this trailer was terrible. They should have showed footages of the hardcore parry system. They should have used the original intro theme which was much better.

The trailer made me dizzy with the zoom and unzoom on the lyrics.
