Private trackers can be bullshit annoying to deal with. What.CD and its kind are fine for getting stuff, but maintaining a ratio is impossible if you want to just do things naturally.
I have a ratio of like 100.0 on BakaBT, a site that only wants you to register an account, that runs with completed anime series. I have uploaded like over a terrabyte's worth of data, because I just leave what I download up and for a long time and do not leech very frequently. I share and I am a good member of the community, by the ration standards.
But on What.CD, a private tracker where I do the exact same thing, nothing I leave up ever goes anywhere and the same goes for waffles.fm. I have like 0.45 on both sites and I really do constantly try seeding for them. The idea of private trackers is fine, but they basically get fucked over by their exclusiveness because of how they basically demand you download popular stuff, or something you do not want, to try and worm your way in to maintain a ratio. I even found obscure enough stuff to upload that had not been uploaded yet, like they "recommend" to try and get your ratio up. But they were so obscure nobody ever downloads.
So I only ever use them for stuff I absolutely cannot find, because otherwise I would get banned for not being a "sharing member". The only "private"-ish tracker I have ever used that worked was Demonoid, because it is both possible to seed and get your ratio up and they do not use that stupid "low ratio = banned" setup.
It is stupid.
