Not majorly of course, but I feel that they do have a few similarities. Mainly I find that Usopp and Sokka have some shared character traits. Also in the art style, Luffy and Aang have similar facial expressions. There is also the unique creatures and animals that inhabit both worlds.

The way I saw it is that it was like rap. Theres not a rapper alive that wasn't inspired by tupac, just unheard of. Though my freind wants to make his own cartoon but is not interested in reading One Piece.
Not that I hold american cartoons in high regard but im sure if you draw cartoons than you've heard of Oda and tried to learn from him. Though now all you have to do is pop some x and draw what you see…. so....
