I'll name her Serenity. She's so cute.
Who, me or the cockroach? and lol at the fact that Hiroy is getting more people in this art thread purely because of the chance of seeing HiroyXcockroach fanart.

The roach of course. If it was you, I'd just be flirting… which is something I do unknowingly anyway.
and how on earth did we start talking about pepsi again?
I don't know, but right now I'm watching the history of Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper, with some misc. cokes in between on History Channel right now.
How coincidental?
Dr Pepper is awesome.
@Uncle:
Dr Pepper is awesome.
Totally agree~
Well, looks like we have Dr. Pepper People, Pepsi People, and Coca-Cola People. Hhhmmm
Doc Pepper is just watered down cough medicine.
I'll strangle you.
Last time I checked, cough medicine didn't have 23 flavors. >=(
Doc Pepper is just watered down cough medicine.
Truely, we are never on the same side. D:
And no, those packaged red Coolaids are watered down cough medicine. I know. I had to drink it.
I can agree on the Kool-Aid. I like the Lemonade flavor one.
I never liked them at all. Blech.
I'd rather drink Caprey Sun (or whatever it's called) before that.
Hey kool-aid is cool. It's in the name. >=P
The craziest shit I've ever seen, to this day, is green kool-aid turning the water purple and tasting like red.
Edit: Incidentally Hiroy, have you ever considered publishing Synful Syn? Maybe in a newspaper or in an actual comic? Or are you never planning to?
Then you never tried Lemonade flavor then… or actual lemonade.
Oh my God.
Hey, I like lemonade.
I just hate Kool-Aid more.
@Uncle:

Not these things.
!
I'll drink the mix, but these things? Never again
Hey, I like lemonade.
I just hate Kool-Aid more.
They taste exactly the same tho.
@Uncle:

After being taken advantage of in the production of ASK3 in the college paper, I decided to create a story for myself in the time being. Synful Syn was the end result in several other stories I had to choose from. So the answer is.. uncertain. Definately no for a newspaper since there are certain artistic standards I'll never live up too, but book? Big "maybe".
Whoa whoa whoa! Someone here hating on Kool-Aid? D:<
I like Capri Sun. I wish I could have those Big Pouches, but mom always insisted it was too much. Lemonade is good, but only if you have one glass at a time. It's starts to taste bad if you try drinking a lot in one sitting. :X

holy shit Kenny, toss me some of that.
They taste exactly the same tho.
Hey, I said I'd drink the mix. Just not those packaged things.

But, I already said…!! Oh forget it. lol
I don't actually like Capri Sun, but compared to the red nightmare that is the Kool-Aid packaged drinks... this is why I prefer to carry around a water bottle.
How do you feel about the bottled Kool Aid, Sai-chan? Choose your words carefully….
Oh oh. My bad. I never drank packed Kool-Aid. They seemed more expensive than just making it yourself. Plus you can add other sour juices in the mix too.

I'm alright with it. As long as it isn't those packaged things, I'm fine.

Then you sir, are very lucky.
I haven't made Kool-Aid in forever. :I

In any case, it's a really cool series. Whatever you decide to do with it, I hope I can continue to follow it.~
Though whatever you decide, I feel I should tell you that I think it has a lot of potential. Ultimately, I feel like writers and artists naturally know which works they want available to the public and which ones they want to keep closer to their hearts but should you ever decide on making the series mainstream, know that I'll support you fully.
It's a lesson I feel I've learned recently… Publishing as a process is easy enough but actually going through with it, I feel like people need support. But, ya know, in this case I truly don't know what you want to do and I have no business making suggestions where they're not needed. Ultimately, I just feel Synful Syn has a lot of potential.~
So that's all I wanted to say.
Edit: And I've never actually had packaged kool-aid.
Thanks Ken. You gave me alot to think about while I row this long river stream towards the ending. Honestly, it's kinda hard to see anything beyond me living here in this house and constantly updating comic pages. And I'm also really uncertian about how I'm going to get this or any comic out there… I can deal with critics and stuff, so I'm not entirely afraid. Just uncertain.
@ Sai-chan Then I forgives you. Bottled > pouch.
Also… where can I read that comic?
Ohoh… Check page 1. I have almost all of the pages up there.
Alright then~ I'll definitely give it a read.

I've been going through the process myself lately of thinking about getting something published. There's a few people here on AP that have actually already published things whom I sure you already know. I had an idea to start a website first before making paperbacks (for a comic). There's a few tricks you can use to sell your work electronically and then as you accrue funds, you can move up to physical copies. I personally don't trust publishers at this stage simply because I've never gone through the process before and don't want to change a lot of things, so I was going to self-publish. Plus, there's always the chance they'll fuck you over.
Novels would be a different story but for the comics, that's something I'd prefer to publish on my own. Anyways, even with having all my cards on the table and really having nothing preventing me from moving forward, I feel like I've been stuck in one place for a long time now. Really, I'm just not writing anything. The ideas are there, the support is there, but it still doesn't feel like it's an actual, physical opportunity. I thought I needed something else but I really feel like it's just a matter of sincere support.
Not to say the support I've received isn't sincere, but just being reminded without even having to bring the subject up ("Hey, your series is awesome!" "Yada yada yada" in random conversation) makes me feel like I can actually do it. It's that necessary "push" to try and pursue something you've put on a pedestal all this time. Crossing the border of dreams and making it a reality.
Though of course, the final decision is all on you. The only thing that truly keeps something from being published, is the writer themself.
Alrighty, I've finished reading the first arc of your comic. I love that paranoid alien guy. lol This definitely caught my interest. The only thing I'll criticize at this point in the story is that you have a couple of typos. There are also some slightly awkwardly worded sentences which can easily be fixed by switching two words around. So it's all minor stuff. I also love part seven, where Syn's mom is staring at her from behind. How did you decide on the names for the characters?
"Couple" meaning 2 typos right? And errors. If you can get them for me, I'll put editing those mistakes into consideration. And I know you didn't bring it up, but sorry bout the handwiriting. The whole comic started off as this project that I'll ever so improve on and getting used to writing out the words to keep this "personal feel :)(sorta like Empowered where everything other than effects is hand made).
As for the names… Hmm. Some are admittedly coincidental, but they all have their own little special meanings behind them. I remember telling Sai this... I'll dig up that post right now. Thanks and I'm glad you like it. My favorite is that part too actually.
As for everyone esle, the comic would be out in a few hours. I was in the mood the write some story threads that happen right after these events and spent quite alot of time on it ._. I have to tell ya. It's satisfying.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Hahah! I still kept them because liked the puns behind some of the names. Like:
Syn=Sin
Evi=Evil
Liu=Lier(though she does not lie)
Dab=Bad
Leo=Lion(though he's a coward)
Tia=Tear(always crying when her heart is torn out…)
Richter=There's a muscle in the leg called the Band of Richter.. He dreams to create a band, but does not have the strength or willpower to do so. Oh.. and he's more fat than muscle.Fria's name is based off the Norse God Freya/Frey, and one of her prospects/followers name is Syn. Her personally isn't based on the Norse myth, but Syn's is a bit coincidental... they match almost, but I never intended it.
Found it. I was talking about the chracters that appeared in a sketch dump… Some of these aren't introduced yet.
I'm surprised you haven't read this before, Mari. o3o
Oooh~ In a few hours? Cool. :D I just finished drawing a comic page with Jiyu; I'm gonna draw a second page to it too.
Okay, I'll re-read it again. And actually, I thought your handwriting was good. There was like one panel that felt slightly cramped for words (the one where Evi's dad is talking about Syn's dad). But it felt neat and simple, easy to read. If there's one thing I get picky about, it's hard-to-read fonts, and you did a good job.
Let's see, in part 2, Syn says "shceme" instead of "scheme." Just noticed in part 3, you wrote a "y" instead of "g" when Syn says she'd rather die before paying. In part 4, Evi says "piont" instead of "point." In part 5, I think it would flow better if the the be and even switched: "I'm ashamed to even be in this trash-heap […]" Part 7, should be "liar" not "lier." And in part 8, "Syn**,** my dear," because it's an appositive.
Awesome Sai. Looking forward to that.
Awesome Sai. Looking forward to that.
So am I~ I'm actually contemplating coloring it. I haven't colored anything in forever, and my colored pencils are getting (metaphorically) rusty.
Alright. I read and copied your post into Notepad Mari. It seems easy enough things to fix. Thanks alot! There's also notes of other things I had to work on too as I gained new habits as I moved along.
And.. Evi's dad. I crammed his panel on purpose because he's like… a chatterbox and is always saying alot of unnecessary things that make people feel uncomfortable. If I had a thinner pen, he would have said more XD
Edit: Damn.. Google really did fail my on lier and liar. Or maybe I failed. Silly mistake...

You should see my Primsacolor markers. They have been in my case untouched since that thing I made for Christmas a couple of years ago.

Sounds like me, lol.

Dammit all, you lucky jerk. xD I would totally use 'em if I had the money. My colored pencils are actually prismacolor too.
I was just a bit discouraged from using them. I don't know what came over me.
No problem. Anyway, I hope you don't mind if I continue to proofread it?
lol Sai-chan, it's so true. I can also be a real chatterbox when I'm around certain people. :ninja:
D:
Who the hell discourages creativity and art? This is something I can't stand. You know Walt Disney's father hated art and anything like it, and always discouraged him from drawing? And if it wasn't for his aunt and a lot of persuasion, we wouldn't have Walt Disney Studios and all those great movies like Bambi and Snow White and Fantasia today?!
@Mari: Once I talked about One Piece to someone for a full two hours. Beat that!

Notes is notes. I'll gladly mind.

There's alot of factors that discouraged me. Like… First and foremost.. My deleter paper went bad and I could not make a good line without spidering. This happens since my home is has no air-conditioning and it gets really humid... Paper wears really easily in these conditions. I can always import some more, but I never think about it when I get money. They are a bit of a hassle as none of my methods for storing them properly worked. Bills and other things get in the way of my art budget as well. It's also another reason why I took a minimalist approach with the comic(Pilot pens, Sharpies and printer paper).
Alas, I'm still drawing and I beleive things would get better. When I get a job, I can probably put aside some money to fix my air conditioning AND afford to pay for it monthly. And that can encourage me to import paper and buy ink again. I honestly miss doing traditional stuff in the manner I once did ._.
I'm pretty sure you can use printer paper when using Prismacolor markers. That's what I use to draw on all the time, and that's what my sister used when she first got her Prismacolor markers. o3o Well, that's if you can use the paper. Does it mess up in the heat, too?
Printer paper absorbs alot of ink from Markers. That and I tend to mix it up with wet media like white ink + water.
._.

I have but one thing to say to you, Sai-chan: The Fangirling Thread. Or did you mean actual face-to-face conversations? 030 (I also can talk endlessly about OP to my sadly non-OP fan friends). In that case, I can talk endlessly about Ashby with my irl BFF.
… well then. xD Do you have any sort of art stores nearby? Because there is a variety of paper out there you can use; watercolor paper, (which is fun to draw on btw), thicker posterboard (not the plastic-y front side, but the back), 15x20 Illustration Boards...

It was a face to face convo. I once talked on the phone for four hours strait~
I guess I have no other choice… I have to get atleast one marker drawing done this year befor Sai pesters me about it again. I'll definitely look for some alternatives in the art store... when I get money.
Hey, I'm in Advanced Placement Art! I'm allowed to pester people about making art!
I've done paintings, pencil works, layerings, juxtaposition, mixed media, pastels, pen works, all from 9x11in stuff to 18x24in stuff!
I wanna see those actually… well. What you consider best rather than random studies.
I might if you wanna see 'em. But the best pictures I have of the bigger ones are kinda… well, not all that great. But I have them all uploaded to my photobucket account.
Expected, but I'll like to see anyway :) My sister went to an art centered high school and made a ton of things I'm envious of.
I'll do it as soon as my other computer turns on~ (it froze and I had to turn it off)
Few hours… I wonder if the lived up the the quota of "few". Anyway, new page.
Toddles Todd. You had enough exposure for now. Taking up the titles. Cuffing people. Spouting profanities. All that stuff a kid likes having. Something good came out of this though.. Some Syn and Leo chumship building is what it is.
The next one "might" come this week… If I can sketch out and refine 3 addtional pages before the week is over.
Poor Todd. I mean. Red.
So they finally learn each other's names! How cute. Is Leo shy? xD That's adorable.
Also, Leo doesn't have handcuffs on in the second comic~
He was twiddling his fingers as a distraction. They both have no handcuffs on currently.
