I'm not sure where I dug it up. That was years ago, beyond an ocean swarming with viruses.
Hiroy Descriminates Art once Again ver2

lol okok, I'll just look it up XD
-
What's up with all the rabbits I been seeing these days?
Edit: Not Star Ocean 4.
-
Your style only keeps getting better, Hiroy. Good stuff, as always.
-
I do like the colors, and bunnies have their own charm.
-
Ooooh~ I really like how your style is evolving, Hiroy. You can totally pick it out from a dozen other pictures. <3
Haha~ It's the year of the Rabbit. Plus there's a new manga in Shounen Jump called Oumagadoki Zoo, and one of the main characters is a man cursed to look like a rabbit.
-
Ah. Year of the rabbit. So that explains all the Playboy bunny outfits worn by the wrong kinda characters on Pixv.
And thanks everyone. It's nice to know I'm improving. I don't notice myself unless I open my old sketchbooks.
-
Crack art.

I wonder what it means when my mind went entirely blank after seeing that image…

Sexual confusion is normal human reaction. Don't worry about it.

Hahaha~ I wanna try that someday. It looks like absolute fun. <3 I think my favorite is 1 and 3.
-
Ha! You've actually got a pretty bitchin' art style…!

Thank you for the picture again Hiroy hun <3 It's so darn cute!! ^^
Also I adore the different styles pic. It's simply awesome!

3 was a different experience… I never thought I'd see her in a Japanese school uniform. Just a reminder. You are on the next batch. I just need a confirmation on someone before doing it.

It's getting there. I just need 6 more years or more.

Ooh? I am? Awesome! <3 The wait will be worth it~
Haha, I guess it's different for you huh? xD I'm used to drawing school uniforms. But I haven't made any characters so far that would fit one… 'sepcially since most of my characters nowadays are fighting charas...

Haha, I know how you feel. 13 years and I still haven't gotten myself a concrete style yet.
-
I've never made it to your art thread before, which is apparently pretty sad, your pretty damn good Hiroy.
I think I actually watch you on Deviant Art, I've at least seen some of this stuff before.
If your ever interested in a trade or something lemme know, I really like your stuff.
-
^edit: I'll let you know. You just reminded me that I have an art- trade that was overdue for 5 months X_o… Maybe I could finish it this time since I'm a tiny bit better now compared to then.

Fighting? Heheh. Syn is a fighter too, and referencing school girls from Ikki Tousen/Battle Vixens(as terrible as it is) fits the bill.
Style is something that I think should come naturally while studying art seriously. It's like taking lessons one bit at a time. Some progress faster than others. Some have a lower attention span and lack of long term memory like me.

Hahha I know how it is dude, I'm still in the middle of that art fight thing Mryllok and I started god knows how long ago, and sometimes I go months with out adding to it cause I get frustrated that I can't seem to draw what I want, but it's really helped me improve, so hey no complaints there.
-
Style is something that I think should come naturally while studying art seriously.
Not really. My style changed gradually due to the influence of different manga I read, to serve certain specific purposes. A bit of an interview on Oda.
Q: I was going to ask about your art style. Do you have any particular artist's style that influenced you?
A: I created my style back in elementary school. I think everyone has a period of copying someone else's work. For me, it was Kinniku-man and Fist of the North Star. But I think the effect Dragon Ball had on me was the biggest. I must say that I really drew a lot of Mr. Toriyama's art, so I think I still carry on that habit to this day.Q: But you have your own distinct style.
A: It's a style that I created on purposed. It wasn't something that came out of me naturally. I just wanted to draw in a way that other people weren't drawing in. For instance, I had a hard time making all of the eyeballs really small. In the beginning, it was difficult, and the right eye and left eye would be shifting from one another. If I looked at Wanted! right now, I can tell it's rather shifty. It was, after all, the first manga that I drew after switching to that style. But as I drew it more and more, I liked it more and more as well. That is why I went through with it, no matter what anybody said. For that style, when the eye shifts even a few tenths of millimeters (rika's note: a millimeter is 1/25 of an inch!) it gets in the way of expressing emotions. When you want the character to see straight, you really have to draw the eyeball in a position to make them see straight. You can fudge it a lot if you have big eyes… It's fun because you can't fool anyone with eyeballs that small. -
I still need to do this, but I'm just so lazy XD (was tagged by neko waaaaay back)

I agree totally with what Oda says in terms of creating your own style.
For a while I was fixated on my old style and one day I decided enough of this crap and set about doing things with a bit more realisticness to it. The more I played with it and made it my own the more I came to love it.
The eyes are my favorite part <3 -
I was more thinking about the process of establishing a style. Like for example, you draw chracters in a certian way for an intended purpose(comedic, realistic, ect). While the idea seems perfect as first, the style would gradually improve as the creator learns new and better ways to use it in action.
But yeah, I get the idea. The biggest thing I noticed in Oda's style was the zoom effect in where he would push proportions dynamically up the the "camera"(even though sometimes it looks off to the trained eye). It's still fun. Soul Eater has an intended style too and it really improved over years.
-

Yeah, fighting. xD My characters evolve with my interests. But so far I have three concrete characters and two pending designs, and a whole bunch of different ideas for characters. I'll have to draw them for you guys some time~

I do have my own style, it's just that it keeps changing, again, with my interests. If you compare my earlier work in my thread to the stuff I have now, it looks completely different. But the style I have now, although not concrete, is something I created on my own. I like it, but I want to better it.

Newspaper stuff agian

Haha! That guy in the background looks like Zim. xD
This is so cool! All the detail looks amazing, and the main two characters are hilarious. Is the language the girl's speaking that… dotted one that blind people use to read? I love the frustration on the man's face. He just wants his coffee!
-
Lol nice XD
Nope, definitely not braille, braille doesn't have curvy lines.
I have no idea what kind spraken she speaks :I -
It's called "Alien Language". Well, that's the name of the font. It uses a combination of curves and dots. I never questioned if the dots were based off braille though…
The aliens are sorta based off "The Tallest" from Zim. Not on purpose though... It sorta just happened and I said "Hell, I'm on deadline".

I made a little comic for Valentines day.

lolz awesome one
great work hiroy

Testing a new format to make quick skethbook mini-comics. Been reading a couple of these lately and felt like trying the layout myself.
-
what foul-mouthed girl. she'll be perfect in a sket dance gag.
-
That reminds me. I gotta finish Sket.
And yes. She's actually based off this younger cousin I once had. Interdependent and rude. Not very bright, but smart.
-
"Not very bright, but smart" < le wat?
Also, I agree with the teacher. :P
-
Like Naive. She knows things but isn't considerate about where/how she uses that knowledge. That's what I meant. Like she blurts things that makes others feel uncomfortable/offended/dumb without really knowing that herself. Of course, she does tend to understand when someone confronts her with the problem. She was quite an interesting cousin. I wonder how much her attitude have changed now.
-
Haha, Hiroy, I love Syn's last line. xD "I looked up to you! Now I can't because everyone has to look 7 inches lower than that!" Awesome character. You're pretty good at mini comic format Hiroy! You should do them more often. c:
Also, I love your SW OP pic in the previous post and your new avvie. <3
-
Glad you like it Sai. There's going to be more. Hopefully "tons more" if I don't get stuck or carried away with an idea/arc. Thanks.
-
Oooh~ I'd love to see them. Are you gonna do them in a style similar to Azumanga Diaoh, where it's a series of unrelated stories that make up a bigger story?
You're welcome~ <33
-
Hm. Good question. I can't say all the events would make up one single plot as I don't really have one in mind. The arcs I have in mind is more character centric within an event or place. If anything, the big story is Syn's life in this place(I have not named this town yet) before eventually moving away.
Before, I had this one idea in where there's this really tragic reasoning(with vague buildup) behind the move, but it wasn't consistent with the overall mood of the comic. That, and the writing made me ask myself far too many questions. I guess murder/death plot-lines aren't really my forte.
-
Hm, that makes sense. It doesn't have to have a single big plot, and it's always fun to see the different little plots. Ooh, what other characters are gonna appear in your comic? I'm curious~ <3 Is the genre just humor or is there something else?
… yeah, I can't really imagine a character like Syn being in a story involving death. Haha. xD
-
Hiroy, you've got to update your comics more often. I friggin love Syn too much to live without her constant mood-lifting ways <3
-

I certainly understand how she feels.
Good comics BTW. -

Genre? Mostly humor with some drama, and hopefully a bit of sci-fi. There are other characters.

Front row starting with the girl with glasses. Liu, Tia, Syn, Leo, Dab, Evi and Richter. Oh, and the spaceship. The designs are from a few months ago and I made some changes since then. Most of them should make their appearances shortly.
@Mokenda: I'll do my best to lift your moods :) Wait! That's Syn's job. Not mine.
@Sea: Thanks.

Oooh~ I can't wait Hiroy! <3
