I haven't done any OP Cosplay yet, only Naruto (Chouji and Kankuro) and this year again there's no OP on my "To-Cosplay"-list (cause Yakitate!! Japan and Bleach come first) but at least next year or by the end of this year I plan to make two One Piece costumes.

MJ is out in the Persian Gulf, He's making a Theme Park ( Be very afriad).
If I get a wig I can definatly pull it off. I have also thought up a way to make the fists too! And the Marine hat! I think I can "Persuade" My friend into doing Jango. Just need a pinkish white wig and the shirt. I can mkae the Chakrams. I'd need some help with the shirt though.

Someone's kid brother is going as either Johnny or Yosaku for ACEN. But I don't remember which one he is doing. We are also trying to convince same person's kid sister to go as Usopp.

Has anyone here ever dealt with doing a manga version of a character with your own color scheme, only to have it turn out to be wrong or partially wrong?
I'm really frustrated with my Enies Lobby Nami. I like my color scheme, but it seems the skirt is yellow, as people had suggested…but I just didn't like as much as the orange. And an official figure recently released has the skirt as some kind of yellow. To be honest, if I was more happy with the color orange of my skirt, I probably wouldn't care, but now I have a skirt that is slightly off from what what I envisioned...and will probably be completely off from the animated version. I'm not sure if I should leave well enough alone, or try to rush and buy/make another skirt by Katsucon. The ironic thing is my top was made without any intention of matching the manga coloring at all. I just guessed luckier than usual for a change.

@Ginny: I haven't had that happen to me…but then again...I haven't exactly officially cosplayed yet. heh. I would just keep it how you have it. If people question what arc it is from. You can explain it then.
@Devilsfruit: Wow, it seems like you almost already have all of Luffy's outfit. Though go as whoever you feel most comfortable playing. Prereg for acen is 35 for the weekend by Feb 26. And then 45 until um...April something. I am not for sure about at con reg. I don't think they have announced that yet. Do you want the link for the website?

Well, the only convention I ever go to is Comic-con. Cosplaying has a good focus there, as I always see dozens of cosplayers in outfits. (I saw someone dressed as Canti from FLCL.) Although, it's mostly people cosplaying as characters from American comic books, Star Wars, & Star Trek. Maybe you better try a convention that more related to anime. ACEN I guess.

That is EXACTLY how I did it, you just described it in the nice simple words I could never think. It's just a second skirt put over the first, and then cut.
As for the top…I used a bikini top I bought and painted. When I made my Skypiea top from scratch, and whenever I get around to remaking my Alabasta top, I traced around a bikini top or bra I already had, and modeled it off that. Just...be careful, if it is not made properly, wardrobe malfunctions can happen, so you may want to test out wearing it around in doors before taking it to the con.
