I think the problem here is that most people feel insulted that someone finds watching a saga of One Piece troublesome to the point that they'd try to milk everyone else for it. A bit of disrespect to Oda and the OP fandom, isn't it?

East Blue Episodes covers 3-4 chapters per episode.
Everything starting with Enies Lobby covers 1/2 chapter-1 chapter per episode.

This weekend in Japan they aired an episode of a show called 'Real Scope' that showed how the OP anime is made, with the story boarding, animation and voice acting. It looks like it had some fun stuff, like how Buggy's voice actor likes to adlib lines.

Heh - I've noticed that there are a few "Main" Voices in this Forum group that seem to do all the arguing.
It's not about winning an argument or convincing someone else here of your point of view it's about knowing who to ignore and what responses to give. Otherwise you end up in a circular argument which to be honest is fun but boils down to 2 views that will never agree until the Author gives the needed finality to the subject.
Like Sabo being alive - Till Oda shows definative proof of one way or the other people will argue - hell even if they show a tombstone people will still want a section of the book showing Sabo being pulled out of the water and a doctor ripping him apart for cause of death. Even after all that someone will say he was turned into a Cyborg.
The one good thing about One Piece is NO ONE other then Oda knows how it is going to end. Or what is planned and what is not planned, there are many plot twists that can happen from here on out.

Some stories are so poorly written that people know whats going to happen from the start to the finish and end up being bitter about the whole experience.
But it is 2am in the morning here for me and I am at work so I'm sorry I will be unable to provide you with any sufficient examples of that claim.
If instead you could read it as with One Piece it is fairly unpridictable a majority of the time and at this point we're not even realy assured what will happen outside Luffy making it to One Piece …. and even that might not happen if the Author felt that way.

One Piece is one of the only anime I know that adapts the manga almost precisely. No filler crap is put into episodes and that makes the episodes a lot more enjoyable.

I have never sat with a manga on my lap and watched the anime to compare and contrast the two so I can note down every minute difference, but I feel that it is better done than the others I have seen.
Sure you have specific filler episodes, but most of them are placed in between major arcs for the most part. Yes you had some odd filler material in the middle of Alabasta and Ace stayed longer, but it was only a couple of episodes. Aside from that I did not notice any major differences between the Manga arc and the anime arc, and I still feel that the crocodile v. luffy thing was very well animated and almost identical. Where as in other popular anime you have major battles that go back and forth over and over again and last much longer than need be, it seems that the major battles in the One Piece anime are done just as they were originally written. Maybe it gets worse later on, I don't know.

Maybe a reason some people don't like Oda's drawing style is because his characters aren't filled with bishounens. He can make villains cool without making them look like models.

I get what you are saying. Some stories are rather predictable for better or worse, but One Piece definitly keeps me guessing. I have no idea where Oda plans to take these characters over the next several years, but I look forward to it.

But see that is where the problems are created.
I know the communities created by forums are unique and all their members develop understandings and expectations of each other. These forums I have been a lurker on for a while before I started posting but I didn't bother so much with the posting or learning who was who - I was watching the anime and didn't bother with the Comics - something I have fixed and since read and re-read all of them and now been going through the SBS from the WIKI site.

I have a feeling that this has something to do with the fact that Nami's eyes were colored pink recently in the movie.
It's not that One Piece is ugly, it's just that all other animes try too hard to look good.
I've also seen every episode of the Naruto filler saga, and I've forgotton well over 90% of it. On the contrast, I usually just read my One Piece volumes rather than re-watching episodes, but whenever I'm feeling up for some animated One Piece, I usually choose one of the fillers. My favourite is the G8 arc, but the Memory loss arc is pretty entertaining too. Anyway, I'd choose a good filler over animated canon material with shitty animation. At least most of the fillers had nice animation.
You say this but I know the character back stories from the flashbacks, i watched the episode where ussop joined the crew and the series makes perefect sense to me. There are just a few general things that i don't understand: usually ones that don't effect the series greatly.
I presume then, if luffy's dad is Shanks then his Grandfather is Gold.D.Roger?
Yeah because the flashbacks of the first 5 crew members and the Kuro arc are totally what make up the first 59 episodes of the series. Yup, there's nothing new or special in those that would help you to understand shit that should be obvious.

I've read through the countless arguments of why Nakama is not that much of an important word and why it's worshiping needs to be stopped - I fell for it's romantacism in the anime but when I learned more about it I accept its meaning and even though I like the word to mean more then it does I know it doesn't and got over that.
I guess I am just more open to the Anime being used as a tool by the author to further embelish on sections of the manga he was unable to do at the time - the fact that there is evidence of this is something that seems to irk you so much that you are prepared to ignore it all and debase anything but the original works as gospel.
I can't stop you from making fun of or looking down on the followers of the anime but well it only means you are looking down on the author you favor so well because he loves the anime as much as his own work and laughs and cries with us all as we experience it.

You know I think you and I have completely different ideas on what we believe the phrase "Directors Cut" To mean - you are applying it liberally and acting like I believe Oda sits there and has meetings and oversees final drafts and the like.
It's not - I really do not mean to use the word in that sense I mean more as in he influences things in the anime - little things like rough draft sketches that the anime Directors can use in the anime instead of 7 mins of people breathing heavily (which they have done I know)

At the end of that thread I list a couple of examples - I'm not saying I think 100% of the anime if cannon I say that the anime can be USED to show events that will be upcoming in the story later.
So yeah Daddy the Father being the only example, the Rayleigh one is not embellishment, it's just Oda telling them where an Easter Egg is and that they shouldn't ignore that.

Now what I don't get is what you even find significant about these few examples. They're pretty much meaningless trivia. Niether Daddy the Father or Rayleigh have anything to do with the mangas future.
The recent stuff with the seperation is literally the only example I can think of, and even then it just shows Oda giving the staff examples of what he had already planned for the islands. Like telling them Usopp was actually in a giant plant. The main sin here, is the freelance assumptions you're already acting like we can make from this.
For every plant island there's a hundred more Zoro steel cuttings.
And nothing about this in any way shape or form makes the anime Oda's vision. Nothing puts it above the manga in terms of what is really the real OP experience from the mind of the creator. You yourself linked to Oda laying down that law.

Exactly - please understand I am not trying to convince you that the anime has not made mistakes - it is evident it has - but as it has continued I think both Oda and the Anime Directors have learnt that in order to avoid further embarresment that they communicate more to make the Anime as accurate as it can be. Because altering canon things to seem somewhat congruous with filler is an ages old filler tactic you can see in Dragonball too.

I'll be honest I will be hard pressed to find it for you in the 30mins I have left before I finish work. Not that you're asking but I have work again tonight so I will be sleeping then doing other stuff before coming to work I can try when at work tonight but it would all be assumptions as there is not much in the SBS's but I will go through them all again as I remember a few other things that caught my attention.

I have read that yes - it was all meant to be only 5 years or something right? but it just keeps writting itself or expanding as he goes with it. I mean the volumes are able to expand up to 21pages or more??? So the cases of him requiring to give the anime much would be lesser to an extent.
However after the arc is finished - before it is animated he "may" want something included - that is when he can go to the animators and have it done via them. Instead of trying to include it in the manga - it is unlikely this happens often though.
