I can't believe how long this thread has slept. time to rise and shine, buttercup.
I just finished Great, by Ryan Armand. It was, well, great. As he admits, it started as a silly, make it up as you go along sort of thing, but then it became something wonderful. Just when you think the comic is really reaching a resolution, it throws you a loop. Just like life. Which is appropriate, because the comic chronicles the life of one Barney Phipps, with all its ups and downs. It's funny, poignant, and expressively drawn.
Seriously, check it out. http://www.kiwisbybeat.com/great1.html Also, Minus, but the same author, is also completely amazing. Ever seen one of those stories where someone has "magic" and it seems like they can bend reality just about any way they want? and you wonder what the ramifications of complete power would be? then I have a story for you.
This is probably my favorite single webcomic strip ever:
At first it's funny because the girl adorably thinks she has a chance, but she's gonna try anyway. It's almost inspiring. Then, if you read the webcomic, you'll realize that she doesn't just think she has a chance, she is going to knock that meteor out of the park. She is literally in complete control of this situation.
and the ending… holy shit, that ending. If you believe in an afterlife, then this comic will make you think about things. If you don't, well, you'll still have things to think about. I don't know, just read it, is all I'm saying. http://www.kiwisbybeat.com/minus1.html
