Exactly, that was just mind-numbingly idiotic.
Anyway, not much new info lately.. I probably know everything there is to know about the game by now so anyone should feel free to ask ahead.

Guys Guys!
There's a Metroid game out…
It's awesome...
But it's just another Metroid game.
lululululululul
Iv'e got a strange feeling he's not coming back… Finally got the game pre-ordered, about time!
Alright, just gave the first page a MASSIVE facelift, check it out to get the low down on what you'll be expecting come September 14. For those unfamiliar with the changes and new features and mechanics Reach has brought to the popular Halo name, check it out.
I love me some Halo, I played the Reach beta when it was out earlier and it was a lot of fun, this one should be awesome, I still Halo 3 every now and then still.
Holy shit dude you've got it all there!
Just pre ordered it from amazon. Also, nice first post.
Real well done first post. Doubt you missed any info on that haha.
I already have the game 3/4 paid off and hoping to get it by this friday. Will post pics of proof lol
GuetaMinute just pooved he either needs to be a Forum cleaner…
Or he just REALLY REALLY likes Halo 8D
Haha thanks, I'd be lying if I said I made all of that on the spot..
Copy pasta'd from NeoGAF. I'm a cheap bastard 8)

I won't give up. Even if this is massively hyped by normal people on most gaming sites and forums, it seems this place is just upside-down. (Neogaf had 300 something posts for Dissidia FF while their Reach thread has more than 2,000 lol)
Here's the first LEGIT review by GameInformer giving the game a 95.00. Not bad.. In fact thats an amazing score. http://www.gamerankings.com/sites/512-game-informer/index.html
The review embargo will lift tomorrow or early Sunday, I expect tons of great reviews, the few crazy "More Halo" ones, the extremely rare bad ones, etc. and me telling most of you in your face
And lol at the online medals

"Any disappointment series fans felt after ODST should be completely washed away thanks to Reach. Make no mistake about it - this is the true follow-up to Halo 3. It's also a perfect way for Bungie to part with the series it turned into a phenomenon. [Oct 2010, p.92]

"Remember Reach"
Just for you being such a great guy, I'll post in your Star Wars thread even though I can't buy it. Hah.
I have a retreat on Tuesday, though. :( I'll be back at around 6: 30. FML.

I'll just go back to playing my Ukrainian game thank you very much.
I had heard that this game was fairly good. I can't believe some people actually reviewed it before it was released, though.
Those were just blogger reviews/opinions, not legit reviews. The embargo lifts today at 9 PM PST. GameInformer gave it a 95/100 and G4 a 5/5.
As a new main entry in the Halo franchise, this game definitely rivals the first Halo (considered the best by many), or dare I say even surpasses it. As a standalone shooter, it definitely is one of the best shooters out there right now (going by previews/gameplay vids/shit etc.) and THE biggest console shooter in terms of features and customization that even rivals some PC games.
I know you're into that thing, Kairo, so I would give it a try if I were you.
Mind you, its IGN we're talking about here but the embargo has lifted, and reviews are up

Halo: Reach, simply, is Bungie's masterwork, and if you own an Xbox 360, you'd be an idiot not to buy a copy – even if you're not a fan of first-person shooters, it will still make you marvel at just how good a game can look and feel.
You almost need to look at Halo: Reach as two games, with one being the campaign you can tackle solo, or with up to three friends, and the other game as the multiplayer experience that has been pumped up with plenty of new opportunities for death. Oh, and fun. If you own an Xbox 360 and want some serious enjoyment, this is a must-have title.
Halo: Reach is everything a Halo fan has ever dreamed for. All that was lacking from previous Halo games is here and then some. This is Bungie's love letter to their fans and they've definitely gone out with a bang.
Even excusing the minor flaws such as slight storytelling or framerate issues, is it safe to call Halo: Reach the best Halo game ever? It's way too early to declare as such – this is the type of proclamation best saved for years of study and hindsight, rather than in the immediate glow of a fresh release. But after seeing the perfect last shot of the campaign (in fact, it's so spot-on, that Bungie community director Brian Jarrard confirms that, unlike previous titles, there's no additional cinematic or end-scene for finishing on Legendary difficulty -- everyone sees the same last scene), and playing round after round of multiplayer, I can say that while I admire and respect every previous Halo title, Reach is the Halo that I absolutely love.
Looking at everything provided by Bungie and the potential for user-generated content, Reach is the biggest shooter to ever hit a console. More importantly, the game is just downright fun from start to finish, especially if you're going to be playing online. It is a true work of love from the folks at Bungie and has been constructed to be playable for many years; a fine send off as Bungie transitions to its first new IP in a decade. It is a prequel and doesn't have Master Chief, but this truly is Halo 4. Get this game.
Though past Halo games were filled with repetitive landscapes and circuitous, difficult to follow plots, Halo: Reach does not suffer from these problems.
Halo: Reach is a fantastic package, with several core components that on their own can outclass many other games. The campaign is excellent, backed by solid storytelling and a powerful audio-visual experience. The competitive multiplayer is familiar, yet brand new with a lot more options and a faster pacing. And the cooperative Firefight arcade mode has finally met its potential. Whether you like playing with friends like me or you're more of a lone wolf, Halo: Reach has evolved to the point where it'll make everyone happy. It's a fitting end to Bungie's involvement with the franchise, one that both references the past and injects new life into a tried and true formula. Newcomers and Halo fans alike will find plenty to love in Halo: Reach. Even if you've grown tired of the Halo formula through the years, I'd still recommend this game to you. It's just that good.
Halo: Reach is unquestionably the best of the Halo games, and that's not a small thing to say. But Bungie doesn't just match the best of every Halo game that came before it, they've improved it, streamlined it, perfected it. Gone are sections of tedium and vacuous game design, gone too is the almost cartoon look of the earlier games and the narrow vision of the places in which they took place. In many ways, Halo: Reach feels like a coming of age title, but not for the characters or the world or the universe Bungie created, but for the studio itself.
Almost all reviews are calling it the best Halo campaign ever.
Don't mean to jump the boat here but it truly looks like this is the definitive Halo experience and the best one yet. It also looks like it's arguably one of the best shooters out there. Just saying..
Basically, if you own a 360 and will not play/rent/buy this game, you're practically stupid.
Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/halo-reach/critic-reviews
93/100.
Not bad. Expected better, but the 2 low-score reviews are absolutely horrendous and look like they were written by retarded chimps. There's a lot more to come, though.
Getting this Tuesday morning, boo yeh
I'll have to play it until 7 pm :(
Just found out that I might have to work on Monday and Tuesday…
Not happy about that prospect =\
Did you read any of the reviews, Rican? Atleast the scores and excerpts from them.
There is one problem, though. I know you're big on technical shit, but it appears Reach sometimes suffers a bit from framerate dropping. :((((((((
I heard it was only in big battles that have a lot of A.I. and shit going on, though, so that's a bit reassuring.
While it didn't happen often, I was shocked to see that Halo: Reach does on very few occasions, chug. That is the graphics slow down quite a bit when there's too much going on in the game. The first time I noticed this was near the end of the game when a lot of enemies were around, and we were all shooting off our weapons and something big exploded. But I've since seen it a few other times and in online matches as well. I checked it on a second console and checked in with other players and they've noticed it too. It happens so infrequently that it doesn't really mar the game, but it's not the type of issue I would ever expect to see in a Bungie title.
Framerate drop eh…
Better not be TOO much of a drop.
I did read the IGN review.
Talk about a written blowjob for the game :V
So far, the only few "bad" reviews (real talk?) are pretty much horribly written. Well, there's like 4, 3 of them were just so fucking bad.
Gametrailers, Worthplaying and Gamesradar had terrible reviews.
Anyway, besides the framerate drop which I'm hoping and expecting not to be a major problem, so far the game looks to be the best Halo ever and one of the best shooters out there. I didn't know my hype meter could possibly rise any more considering how big it is but these reviews did it..
LOL Gamerzone criticized Reach for being too different than Halo 3 and removing dual-wielding… Wtf kind of shit is that hahaha
Wait… Gametrailers gave it a bad review?
Their reviews have been spot on for me for the past like 2 years?
93/100. Not a bad review per se, but given the fact that MW2 scored higher.. well, it just really baffles me.
Also, their reviewer tried way too hard on negativity and criticism. Probably had a bad day or something.
When I say bad, it's just a joke. Bad would be below 8. So far, there haven't been any actual bad reviews. I meant badly written reviews as in.. well, badly written reviews\
While I've heard the campaign is one of the best, some mention that the first half is not that amazing. The first 2 missions might not be, but the third and fourth look loads of fun. They do however mention that the second half is intense.
This is a pretty good review
This brings up a problem I've had with game reviews for a while now. Pretty much every review website treats a 6 or 7 as a bad review score. I mean a 5 or a 6 is a average game not that good but not that bad yet if a website gives a game a 5 or a 6 people treat it as if the game is utter crap. Then a game that is complete crap comes out all the sites give it a 7 the score for a good game.
Reviews USUALLY have to point out the cons along with pros Gueta.
Can't be fanboying in a review.
Just watched it, it's fine.
:P
No, I know that, but those reviews are mentioned were just terrible.
One of them called it ODST 2.0. The other said the graphics looked the same as ODSTs. One complained that the enemy A.I. had INFINITE FUCKING AMMO in a fucking FPS… who the fuck complains about that..
Lmao… that is terrible.
IGN and Gametrailers are usually in agreement with me.
So far so good :D
Yeah, so far Meta is 92 out of 100. Started as 94, though. Pretty good for a FPS. Only 4 80-something scores.
But once the game comes out, reviews = trivial, and all that will matter is just how good it is for us, the players. Though from what I've read I just keep getting giddy yet depressed knowing that this will be Bungie's last Halo, but possibly their best one ever.
What I meant is with this type of game no matter how well written a review is if someone gives it a 8 or lower some people just get pissed off, of course there are just bad reviews.
Since I noticed this one wasn't posted.
8.5/10
http://worthplaying.com/article/2010/9/11/reviews/76854/
We all know that a lot of the lower scores on forums etc will be from butt-hurt Nintendo/Sony fanboys who just wanna give it a low score anyways. Not that the same didn't happen for Mario Galaxy or….
I did mention that earlier.
Not a bad score, but the review itself wasn't very great at all.
This won't be a revolutionary universal-scoring game, but I can safely bet that it'll stand as one of the greatest shooters out there.
Still, how is this NOT completely fucking stupid
Another oddity is the way in which the game cheats with ammo. The AI opponents always have unlimited ammo. However, whenever you take one down, you're lucky to get even a half-full clip. It's an odd disparity that makes it seem as though the game is cheating to make up for a lack of decent AI combat routines. The game should be challenging because your opponents genuinely put up a smart fight. It shouldn't be challenging because the computer can just sit there and unload a constant stream of rounds in your face
It looks like they gave the score first then reviewed it trying hard to find cons.
And it's not just me being the Halo fanboy I'm known as. It's just a really bad review.
So far the legit cons are as follows
-Noble Team isn't really fleshed out and hard to feel emotional for
-Framerate drop, which isn't very noticeable and doesn't happen much.
-Fairly short campaign
Besides those the game is getting very positive reviews so far save for 2 80s and 2 85s, which are still great. Meta is 93 as of now. Some of the reviews mention it's not only a great game for shooter fans but a good game for any gamer as well.
Maybe its just me or I aint played enough FPS games. But isn't the ammo thing the same for pretty much EVERY FPS game?
So the computer is supposed to have a limited supply of ammo so when they run out of that they just stand there picking their noses. Or the other way around. They have infinite ammo and you kill them, thus also get infinite ammo too.
Yes, that's exactly my point. They complained about unlimited ammo when it's present in almost every single fps/tps out there. If not, all.
The friendly A.I./computer sucks at driving still, so I guess thats a con as well, but I've heard good things about the main friendly A.I. (your squadmates) and the enemy A.I. primarily the Elites (dino-looking guys) seem to be a big challlenge. Having them with limited ammo would just be retarded.
I would like a game that has realism with the enemy ammo, though. I think it'd be pretty cool if the enemy could run out of ammo.
Eh, with the good reviews I might give it a try. My brother already preordered it so I don't have to spend my money :sideways: .
If you want realism and or A.I. that plays as good as a human…
You're doing this video gaming thing wrong.
It's understandable, but in a sci-fi shooter like Halo? Anyone wanting realism in a game like that can FOAD.
Halo Reach has a Meta of 94.
http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/halo-reach/critic-reviews
13 perfect scores (AAAA)
12 scores in the 90 category (AAA)
5 scores in the 80 category (AA)
Sounds great.
Very nice.
Update: I will be picking up my copy tomorrow night at 11-Midnite Mountain time.
Imma try and beat day campaign alone then join the online fun Gueta.
8D!!!
Since I'm guessing you ain't a huge Halo player try playing it your first time on Normal. I'll be doing Heroic.
Too bad I won't get to play Reach until Tuesday at around 7 PM pacific (10 over there, I think) :(
You'll have to join the online fun with me till the weekend, man. I'll be playing campaign, but I might be free by Thursday, actually.
Yeah dude…
I tried Legendary ONCE.
Never again.
Random Note: I'm glad dual wielding guns got removed... and omg at Magnum one shotting niggas left and right.
"Remember Reach"
Dual-wielding gone = good riddance. I hated playing Team Duals on Halo 3.
And yes, the magnum is sweet. It's no Halo 1 pistol, but it certainly gets the headshotting job done. Has a lot of bloom, though, but it's still pretty good.
As if I haven't put enough emphasis on this, Game Informer reviewed it, 9.5, and said:
Any disappointment series fans felt after ODST should be completely washed away thanks to Reach. Make no mistake about it - this is the true followup to Halo 3. It's also a perfect way for Bungie to part with the series it turned into a phenomenon.
So yeah. ODST no-no, Reach yeah-yeah.
Good to know.
To be honest Halo 3's ending stage DID it for me.
The rest of the time I was pretty "meh".
I've seen Kairo eyeballing this thread a while. He wants it, I know he does.
insert tongue smiley here
Halo 3 was fun for me but the campaign was pretty meh. Atleast with Reach they seem to improve the level/mission design and change up the gameplay every once in a while.
I will say this thou.
Halo 3's multiplayer in MY opinion was the best online shooter experience I've ever played.
Period.
I already have too many games to play. I still need to find my PSP charging cable so I can play MGS:PW after Greg's gushing all over the game.

Really? Well then, I think it's safe to say you're going to absolutely love Reach (multiplayer more so). Halo 3 definitely was balanced, but I found the BR to be too versatile and such a god-like weapon it just made all other weapons fairly boring or dull to use. It made the game boring, as well.
I did not have this problem in the Reach BETA, though. The replacement was a single-shot hitscan long-range rifle which usually only works in mid to long rage situations. It felt powerful and I found myself using all of the weapons all the time, since none were useless. All of them work. I can't say the same for Halo 3.
(And yes, most weapons are hitscan meaning you won't have to lead them like in Halo 3.)
@Kairouseki:

Admit it, though, you know it looks fun as fuck.
