I went to Anime STL this past weekend, and Travis was one of the special guests. Me and my friend asked him a couple of questions concerning his role as Ace:
If you don't feel like watching the youtube video, I'm posting the Q&A below.
My friend asked if he had already dubbed Ace in Alabasta, and he said that all his parts were already done. In the tone he was saying it, it sounded like it was done awhile ago. We also asked how he became Ace and if he was enjoying his role, which it sounds like the part was basically given to him (although he did have to audition).
After the Q&A panel I spoke to him one-on-one about the Ace/Blackbeard fight later in the series. I didn't want to spoil it, so I said that he [as Ace] does meet him and fight. Travis said "Man, I've already watched that fight. I can't wait!" He then took a picture with me in an Ace pose (though I had to remind him how it went ^_^):
(I left my sunglasses on the table; needed to get a good spot in line).
Aside from that, there wasn't much One Piece covered. Other info revealed was he's playing the Hulk in a new Marvel series, and thus I suggested he audition for Sloth in the new FMA series. It needed some explanation though, because he didn't know the sins were different.
If you have questions on things that might've been said, just let me know. In total, I spent about 4 hours with Travis this weekend, so I know a LOT :P
Edit: Oh yes, and like Vic has an Orochimaru voice, I got Travis to give me a Cell voice :). Though on the Youtube video the screaming fans make it impossible to hear anything past the "Thank you for the warmup Vegeta"
Edit #2: Real spoiler; concerns the manga
! I should also mention I told him the current Arc is revolving around Ace's rescue, and he said "Really? I can't wait to see that, but it'll take SO LONG to get here." Ain't that the truth >.> lol
Edit: #3 I was rather far at the back of the room as you can tell, so here's a couple of videos with better sound:
0:24-1:05 Have you dubbed Ace in Alabasta?
2:56-3:32 How did you come to the role of Ace; are you enjoying it?
