Just picked up the first dvd set of the fantastic Yawara. Thought I'd give a quick heads up that Animecornerstore have a limited number of dvd sets, so anyone else who likes the series and like me, doesn't live in america should get it quick, as AnimEigo themselves don't ship outside of North America due to licensing issues. It's already bloody expensive enough as it is, I hate to think what ebay'll do to it.

Isn't this like the 2nd thread for this series?
Hmm gonna go look up more info on this DVD set… -
I did do a search, didn't find any other theads. It's basically comedy/romance, about a girl forced to practice judo her whole life by her grandfather, who used to be one of the best in the world.
The set itself is an animeigo release, so basically no dub just subs, and a booklet with loads of explantions on japanese honorifices puns, etc used in the series.
The craziest thing is that this is the author also did Monster - two more different series I can't imagine, yet both are fantastic.

I've seen the first 20 episodes of this show in fansubs. It is truly a fantastic series. Real charming characters with a really good storyline.
P.S. Jigoro rules you all!

^English fansubs or Spanish? If there are english ones plz PM them to me.
-
As I recall, Live-evil did the fansubs, so it shouldn't be to hard to track down. They dropped it a few years back, but they subbed more then enough to see if it's something to your liking.

The fansubs I watched were the ones from 8 years ago from a VHS subbing group. I don't know if they've even put them online.
But why don't you show a little respect for Mr. Robert Woodhead and buy the DVDs?
