It's the manga that's is entering the final arc.

Oh no sorry, i meant if i should go with the manga or the anime. I want to start gintama. Heard good things about it.

I haven't read the manga, but I would recommend the anime.

It's looks like the Gintama anime will be going on hiatus again after Farewell Shinsengumi arc is done. I won't be surprised the anime will return once the manga is done.

They could go back and cover some chapters they haven't animated yet
But I am at least happy that they are doing OVA based on the Love Poiton Arc.
But if the anime will return after the manga finishes, best guess is maybe mid 2017 is when it returns.

There is a good chance, Gintama anime will return. Since the dvds and blurays are selling really well in Japan.

I finally got into both the manga and anime last month so even though it sucks they are going on hiatus I will have some time to catch up with it.

I really hope we will see the current chapters animated, especially the last one. One of the rare romance moments in Gintama without trolling. Sorachi is getting better and better!

While the content is good I feel that the placement is very awkward. Even if the snake comes up and saves umibozu

Well even if we have a Sorachi version of "How I met your Momi" I think the main purpose of that arc is to explains the effects of Altana. However, your idea of the Orochi saving Umibozu can be pretty nice to see. I know it won't happen, but Sorachi should do a spinoff manga about the young days of Umibozu once Gintama ends.

That was a really good chapter. I did not expect to see Kagura's mother so that was nice.

I loved the whole first half of this chapter. I happy to see that the monster family and especially Kamui had a few happiness moments altogether. However the second half is auguring an end at least as dark and sad as Isaburo's family death…

I just got to chance to watch Gintama 314.
! I didn't see Utsuro looking like Gintoki's teacher coming. And that he took out Gintoki, Kagura, Okita, and Nobume with ease. I have to say this is a good point for the anime to take the hiatus break. I'm interested to see what will happen once the anime comes back once this break is done.

One more episode to go then. So sad and as a reminder that someone seems to be dying every arc now I feel confident in thinking either Umibozu or Kamui will die in this time. This is definitely the Yato arc and probably the penultimate one for the series.

Yes Gintama is becoming more and more like Game of Thrones with all these main characters dying. I really hope Umibozu won't die but it seems the gorilla already buried him. Also I saw the 315th episode and the staff succeeded to make it sadder than the manga. I almost cried even if I knew that Isaburo will die. Only bad thing is that they did not show the hand of Oboro flying. Too much blood already I guess.

I can't remember the last time a show made me cry like how I did at this week's episode. I think the Four Devas arc might come closest, but damn…and I knew it was coming...heck, the first thing I read about this character is that he dies. Overall, the Farewell Shinsengumi arc was fantastic and has become my favorite Gintama arc (after Four Devas, had some problems with the Shogun Assassination arc).
I plan to cosplay Isaburo this summer, so I hope I will be emotionally ready for it now.

It seems Utsuro vs Umibozu is ending with a victory for the baldy. I hope Kamui won't come next chapter and kill him:sad:
Also Kagura lost her fight too. This hand laying on the soil… I hope she did not become one-handed like her father. Great time for Gintoki to appear. -
So this is strange. There is no way Utsuro is dead, he is meant to be the main villain. I feel like the job of taking him out should be left to Gintoki and the boys. I do wonder if this will be a sign to how Gintoki and friends my beat him though.

Edit:! Gintoki saved him! But for how long? :/ What a miserable life, poor Umibozu. He suffered because of his family at least as much as Isaburo who lost his family:sad:

It makes me incredibly happy how Sorachi seems to put every recurring character into the final arc.
! Besides the Shinsengumi as well as the ones we saw last arc (Kamui, Umibouzu, Kiheitai), the only missing ones now are minor ones like Shachi, Hedoro or Musashi…and I hope even they will get a panel or two. Newest chapter has the return of Zenzou, Soyo Hime, Rotten Maizou and Momochi Rappa.

The announcement will be that it will end in … chapters. Straight up like bleach no number, but it will continue until its planned end somewhere in 2017. xD
