Thanks! Here's hoping a publisher agrees with you…!
Shmeckie's Artacular Explosion of Manliness

Oh shit that is awesome! I love the face and the hand so much 8D
-
amazing just simply amazing
-
Thanks! Here's hoping a publisher agrees with you…!
I wish you good luck with it.
Just wondering how long have you been drawing for?
-
That's amazingly fantastic.
All of it.I love the creativity that you show and what you're doing with a mechanical pencil. It's all quite inspiring and I hope that things go well with the publisher business.
-
I wish you good luck with it.
Just wondering how long have you been drawing for?
Since I was 5. Used to draw with pen, too. Probably why my lines are so fine.
-
Did Stacy leave the original pencils in that piece? Some of the lines look a little light for pen work, and since this was a collab between the two of you, I was curious on the matter.
-
No, that's all pen. I don't know how she does it, but she's very capable of definition and detail with pen. Which works for me, since my style is heavy on the details, so it makes for some dynamite synergy.
-
that's kickass
are you gonna post some more of that good stuff here?
-
More pictures? Yes. More comic pages? Probably not. I need to leave SOMETHING for the store shelves. ;)
-
Here's a piece I had some fun with.
Using some characters for a planned comic project. Specifically, the "Bub" series I mentioned in another topic.
-
Kick ass drawing man
oh btw can I be your assistant? -
Assistant?! …Que?!
-
Nice work. Though the left foot of the demon woman is a little weird.
-
Awesome, I love all the detail right down to how the desk looks as if the face is jutting out
-
VAMPIRE PIRATE! IT'S A SKETCH!
-
that looks sweet, I noticed that your a sketcher like me.
-
Okay, stop giggling, I was asked to draw this. I swear to god this has a purpose. What that purpose is, I don't know, and I'd rather not think about it. Long story short, I was asked by a net pal to do some character designs, and after doing a few sketches of his main female character, I tell him if he needs any more designs, let me know. He half-seriously asks me to draw his character in a bikini. I say I'll do it. Why? Why the fuck not. I'm no prude, and it ain't like she's naked. So…
Not bad for something I drew at 4 in the morning, huh? Usually I get massively obsessive-compulsive in the later hours, and my work suffers for it. It ain't perfect, but at least I'm posting something. I need to start drawing more…
-
Now, now. Why so sensitive? XD
-
Awesome work!! I wish you luck on the journey to publication. :D
-
-
For anyone who missed it in the contest thread thing.
-
Noice.
So, how long exactly did that take you?
-
Epic Kuma drawing, my friend. Keep up the great work.
-
Noice.
So, how long exactly did that take you?
Well, I enqued the entire MadWorld soundtrack in Winamp to listen to while I drew this, and all but 2 songs played during the time it took to draw this. So, however long that is.
Though the inspiration that came when "Look Pimpin'" played may have caused me to speed up a bit…
-
Pfff I snorted when i saw the nun
-
I just realised; I never posted my old Smoker pic in this topic! For shame!
HATCHING!
-
For those who missed it in the chapter thread, my response to the "Crocodile used to be a woman" jokes:
'Cause changing Crocodile into a chick isn't going to remove Croc's badassery…
-
Croc makes a scary women.. x_x; But your interpretation of him as a women is really cute XD I love how cute his/her facial expression is :3 The the angle of the hook is really cool too!
-
croc as a women is kinda hot
-
Shmeck, I just dropped in to say that your art is pretty damn nice. It isn't perfect, but it's a nice form of stylized realism combined with great shading and attention to detail
just sayin'
-
Why thank you there kind surrah!
-
as far as I'm concerned, Female crocodile, when done right, is far hotter than Crocodile as he is.
to which your drawing is awesome, and I give it much loves.
-
I want moaar!
Why don't you give me moar!?For anyone who missed it in the contest thread thing.
Amen to that!
-
I want moaar!
Why don't you give me moar!?Well alright, I suppose I could post some other character design sketches I did for that guy…
They're not terribly polished, but there ya go.
-
Wow. Great art.
hope to draw this well someday. ^^
-
I love your clean pencil lines 3 that is like a once in a blue freakin' moon for me, so I get all starry-eyed when I see people draw so cleanly with pencils.
-
Haha! It's pretty funny to go to the Arts forum and see the newest reply to your art topic is by "kudos to you."
Well, since folks seem to like seeing my stuff, here's another concept design I did:
-
it's like i'm complimenting you every time i post~! 8D
-
mmm, mind if I suggest being a bit more self-sufficient in your conquest for publication?
'partners' (be it inkers, script writers, colorists) ditch and run away all the time… be it a lack of motivation or other various personal reasons
who knows how long before your current inker leaves too?
try to expand on other areas other than your specialized skill (penciling and story-telling, from what I'm guessing),
it's a good way to improve, even if you might fail clumsily at first
having multiple skills is better than just having one, no?but... I'm just advising this in terms of overall improvement
if you're just going for the method where there is a specialist for every step towards the end product...well, I can't really argue against that, because it still workspost some comic pages if possible, I'm intrigued by the said 'story-telling' interest of yours
-
That's why you hire on professionals. Which I have. Besides, just about every American comic book on the market is done by a team. And if one leaves, another can be hired in their place. Happens all the time. Not only that, with the demanding deadlines that pretty much act as God in comics, a one-man project would be impractical as hell. Even if I could, it wouldn't look nearly as good as a team effort.
I'M NOTHING WITHOUT MY COMRADES! [/Luffy]
I dunno if my team would appreciate me going around showing whole pages and such. Not very professional, you see. But, I guess I could show a few select panels as a preview, should it be picked up (which I'm confident it will).
A little setup; the main character is a bad guy, and issue 1 begins with a dyed-in-the-wool hero type coming to stop him (not getting into why) as three other cast members are scheming to against said main character themselves, using said hero.
This is just with the flats. No shading, lighting, etc. Also, they're out of order.
-
A li'l som'm-som'm for the folks that check the Ivankov gender-swap thread…
! Goddess Enel
!'Cause I can be a nice guy…
-
Awesome! Great work on the shadows and shading on the last ones!
It gives of a very atmospheric vibe!
The one where he slowly comes out of the shadows (the main character I assume? ) must be my favourite.
Is just looks scary as hell!Almost as scary as the Enel one…That one makes me feel very confused...
In all seriousness, the Enel one looks damn sweet, I love her bodylanguage!
I just wish it weren't Enel! -
Yes… YES...! Let the akwardness and confusion consume you! Bwa ha ha ha!
-
I done drawed a mermaid!
And I done got creative wit' 'er!
-
Ok. You rule. subscribes Now I can stalk you in peace although is already stalking you in DA << I love how your lines are so clean 3 My pencil lines are rarely clean ;n; That's why I use colored pencils for that. <<; Strangely they stay clean. 'Xept when it's black. Then it gets messy again sigh
That mermaid is so cute >w< You can rarely get creative with mermaids since most of it 'has already been done'. But you got creative alright :P Thumbs up for that. -
-
Cool. I like it because it's not a stereotypical mermaid, except for some reason it makes an insect come to mind more than a fish. That's not really a bad thing, it's very interesting. The pose is nice too. You do some very clean, delicate pencil work.
-
Your stuff is really nice, man! Darn the others for saying everything else I wanted to say, with the "your lines are clean" stuff and such.
-
Love your stuff man! I love to draw but obviously I have no technique… or pulse, for that matter, so I complement with some photoshop here and there. I wish I was a good straight up illustrator though.
Kudos on everything except Smoker, which was half-assed. The rest is amazing. And the panel where your vamp guy appears in the shadows with that one large white eye... very Berserk. The only problem with comparing anything to Berserk is that everything falls short, but other than that, you can't aim for better! What's up with that freak anyway!? Best art quality ever in a manga I've seen.
Also, even though I'm not very good at drawing, I hope you can appreciate a little constructive critiscism. I think all your female noses would go a long way towards making your hawt babes even hotter if they were a little longer and less round. Nowadays that more streamlined look wins over that tiny nose paradigm of the 60s. They're still hawt though.
