Oh, right. Thanks…
I just don't get how Devo appears to have been sliced up several times over, but is still alive. Heh.
At least he gets shish-kabobed...

Yeah, Devo's stand is really that alien-looking creature. You can see it in a picture, and it also appears in the fighting game (when you turn the stand on I think…can't remember).
And I don't remember where I read it (was it earlier in this thread? Or some other place?), but somebody said Araki chose the new names. Dunno if that's true though.
While searching google, "Soul Sacrifice" appears to also be the name of a Santana song or album or something. Not sure if that's where it was taken from, but if so, then at least it's still a music reference.
@gilrules2000- thanks bro.
no problem freeman
Am I the only one who was disappointed by the OVA I had to stop watching once I got halfway through episode 3.
was it the 2001 ova or the 1993 (ithink) ova? because the former was just thrown together and the latter is the shit. It may be old school but it is much much better
When was episode 1-3 produced? And since I have no intention of watching the remaining episodes how much do the remaining episodes differ from the manga.
it depends which 1-3 you are talking about, the 2001 ova was produced then and the 1993 ova was produced then. How's the quality of the video? if it is sorta shitty then you have the old one, if it is pretty good then you have the new one. If you have the new one, i would suggest not watching the rest because it isnt worth it. It was a hack job mostly because they tried to cram way to much into an ova. The older ones stay pretty faithful especially the dio vs. jotaro fight. If you dont see at least that episode you are not a jojo fan. :)
If you dont see at least that episode you are not a jojo fan. :)
I'd be offended by that statement if only I were reading Josuke's Bizarre Adventure at the moment.
by different I meant like in certain events i.e.
The fight between Kakayoin & Jotaro takes place in the nurse's office in the manga.
In the OVA the entire fight takes place in a forest outside the school.
so then you have seen the new ova, that is what i am getting at. Things are changed for the new ova. They arent changed as much for the old ova. Im telling you, forget what you saw and see the old ova.
Why did they not make it into a full series? Jojo's battle with Forever is one of my favourite fights.
i dont understand either. If it was popular enough for four or five series, at the time, why was it not popular enough for a series?
Yeah, the JoJo OVA stuff confuses a lot of people. Because the new OVA series takes place earlier than the old OVA series. I still don't have the United States DVDs, so I have a question. Did they release the new OVA episodes first, so the storyline was in order?
And I love the old OVA series, because it's the first JoJo thing I ever saw (some really low-quality VHS fansubs that were at my comic book store many years ago). But I think it's quite well done.
Just to clear things up, the old OVA begins with GEB if I remember correctly.
Finally got in to this series when I had been meaning to for a while. Quite a fun week of reading who knows how many chapters of manga and having little to no life whatsoever.
Got a question… How far is Part 7 currently in Ultra Jump? (not the translations, but the most recent chapter to come out in the magazine)
they are upto chapter 13 but it is 33 of the series (the first twenty chapters were in shonen jump but they switched it probably cause of the length of it. There are three chapters in volume 6)

Yeah. I used to complain about price, and now the DVDs are hard to find. Ah well. I'm sure of that, anyway.
they have the dvd out for the old ova (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BCE8WI/qid=1147227687/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/002-4777354-9000814?s=dvd&v=glance&n=130)
I think i read some (dont quote me) where that araki really wasent fond of making anime of his works because he did not feel that it could truly represent the dynamic style of his work. Although for some reason he is in full compliance with making games of his works.
The third series was made into an anime due to sheer popularity and Jump coerced him into agreeing to it.
That'd be interesting, and not very suprising. Though, as a fan, I gotta say, it makes things a little easier. JJBA and HnK art styles really don't flow too well, so seeing them animated can enliven a scene sometimes.
Okay, thanks for answering.
So… one more question. Is it still going, or has it ended? Heard both more then once from different sources.
the series is still going on with jojo's bizarre adventure series 07 - steel ball run
OK I'm at Vol. 21 of the manga and man this shit is tighter than I thought, I'd say Anubis is my fav. character, although the sword's design itself doesn't seem Egyptian…..and why were all the Stand Users in Part 3 all on Dio's side?_?
BTW, what's that 'famous' catch-phrase Dio says before he activates Sa WORLD-o!?
he says"
ZA WARUDO!
Toki yo tomare
and then when he is done he says
toki wa ugokidasu.
The reason all the stand users are on the bad side is because the good guys have a good team and they dont need more people, while dio's side needs more and more people cause they keep losing.
If you thought it was hot now, wait till the last fight, hust wait…
^Thanks, BTW I actually saw the 1993 OVA, well the last 6 or so eps., and I'm just curious- why didn't they use The Ripple to beat Dio? Why didn't Josef at least tell Jotaru about it?
Jotaro doesnt know how to use the ripple and it would require training to learn it and they didnt have any time.
Joseph did try to use the ripple to fight dio but dio realized what joseph was doing and stopped time. He then proceeded to kick his ass.
^Oh yeah it looks like the OVA didn't do that, the manga did, sorry. Anyway I've FINALLY finished reading Part 3 & Pet Shop is my fav. character :P.
who is pet shop again? i read that part ages ago
@gilrules2000:
who is pet shop again? i read that part ages ago
That Falcon with the Stand that creates Ice. Iggy vs. Pet Shop was a great fight.
oh yeah, i liked pet shop but i liked iggy more.
^IIRC, Pet Shop is a hawk, falcons don't live in Egypt or the Arabian Penensula IIRC.
can't read because it ISN"T ANYWHERE ON THE NET
not on Mininova
and all the links ive got have been dead / downloads down
I finally started reading again.
! King Crimson? More like THE WORLD JR.
oh yeah, he can forsee events in the future and negate their effects, right? or something like that. His stand's explanation was wierd. The world was still cooler
I liked how the translators explaned it.
If time is like this:
…................................................
/ is when King Crimson activates, \ is when it ends.
........................./.....................................
if you're walking down a hall, and get to the / point, you'll still walk down the hall, but won't remember what happened between it and .
King Crimson is still experiencing the piece of "deleted" time, appaers to move faster during it, and can use it to see how someone is atacking him.
Though it's technically different, in the end it's pretty much The World.
oh, i see. The time is deleted for everyone else except for crimson but the actions continue. The only difference between king crimson and the world is that in the time stop/deletion, the other person continues to move. So far form what i know of post series 03 villians, Killer Queen>King Crimson
few questions since I can't find Parts 1 and 2
1. Do they mesh, IE do you have to read P1&2 to understand 3+
2. if yes can somone summarize Parts 1 and 2
no, you dont have to read parts one and two in order to get the subsequent parts other than this: The protagonist of the second series is in series 3. He is Joseph Joestar, father of …. whatever Jotaro's mom's name is, another characters father (in series 04) and grandfather of Kujo Jotarou. However, i would highly recommend reading it simply because you can get a different feel of jojo in those first two parts, outside of the stands. Unless you can use irc, however, youre SOL
where on IRC TELL ME NAO!!!!!!!!!

Fine, jeez. I cant believe you dont know about #lurk on irc.irchighway.net. You can get their packlists on gotlurk.net. It is volumes 1-12
bows
and no I didn't know about lurk but now I do
that is the manga library to end all manga libraries
still no Saint Seiya though…..:(
I finally caught up to the current chapters. Notorious BIG is probably the most powerful stand so far and Spice Girl seems kinda useless, but I might be wrong. I can see why King Crimson can be seen as The World 2 but I still think it's a great stand.
still no Saint Seiya though…..:(
what does that have to do with the manga library i mentioned. I dont know about saint seiya but this is one of the greatest series ever.
I know (6 volumes later)
while you are on lurk downloading manga, get more JJBA and why not get some other stuff like cough toughsteelballrunMr.Fullswing cough …..v_v looks at sig
Well, I got a better explanation on King Crimson, and it's actually a bit different from The World.
King Crimson actually messes with the time flow and erases pieces of time, When Bucciarti would attack him, he would just erase the time period where the attacks hit him; this is why he didn't attack Bucciarti until after the time erased, his attacks would be cancelled out too.
