The only irk about part 5 that got me was the whole requiem thing going on
sides GE Requiem looks a full grown stray cats
i dont know if anyone posted this before but are they trying to make Dio a semi good guy in steel ball run?

also I must point out now that I've read through 6 volumes is that anyone who can use pepper as a weapon and still be badass makes a series awsome in my book
only six volumes? you need to finish the second series in order to appreciate joseph's badass-ness
I always felt that Joseph got shafted in Parts 3 and 4, and it really annoyed me, because he's my favorite character. He pretty much got the weakest Stand, though the psychic photography was cool.
Then again, my favorite Part IV characters got pretty shafted too (Okuyasu).
Oh, I started Steel Ball Run. I love how Araki makes it obvious that Gyro and Sandman have Stands, but doesn't tell anything. Kind of cool to have a main character you know pretty much nothing about.
I dont think that gyro actually has a stand yet but i am not upto date on the series as a whole. I dont think that many people's stand power has been activated yet seeing as not that many people have pieces of the dead body (i believe that is how people get stands).
If anyone got the shaft at any time, it was Joseph in part IV. In part 3 he has a much smaller role than in part 2 but at least he wasnt a mummy like in part 4. Just dont include him when he is like that. I dont like to see my joestars in such a puny form.
I didn't mind Joseph in Part IV that much.
Oh, I didn't know there was a plot device that gave people stands. But I thought that from how the steel balls spin without him moving his hands, and what he did to Johnny's arm when he grabbed it, I figured he had a stand that gave him the ability to spin shit good or something.
Well, Sandman definitely has one.
so i'm threw 9 volumes and I must say it does keep getting better and better and i'm actually used to the art style now so its all good
Hmm… I remember hearing something about Gyro's ability being somehow based on the Breath thing from Parts 1 and 2.
Is there any validity to that, or is it just a rumor/theory/lie or something? Also I believe that lucky guy had a stand, didn't he?
Well, I'm not really far at all in SBR. I'm just making observations.
I'm not very far either… just heard it online somewhere.
Now that I think about it though, I also had heard something about his ability having a stand name so I dunno.
The steel balls are the source of his powers or i should say, they are the medium through which any power he may have is used.
Aight! I'm at Part 5 now, but am waiting for I-1 to scanlate up until then before I continue the series & I must say Part 4 ROCKS! It's currently my fav. of all the JoJo series. I'm rather curious though-
Is it OK to read Steel Ball Run if I haven't read Part 6?
Pet Shop owns all for free…...if he were still alive.
Part 6 and Steel Ball run have little to do with each other other than the fact that apparantly (i am not sure myself) there was a stand user that created the parallel universe that steel ball run takes place in.
Also, Ignition-one isnt scanning the rest of jojo, trust me i have asked them about it. Just get the rest from highervoltage.
I really enjoyed Part IV, but my problem was it seemed too non-cohesive and all over the place, at least until Kira comes along. Even then, it didn't feel like Araki had fully thought everything through (that Groundhog Day stand was pretty dumb). But I still really liked it, even though Okuyasu really got shafted.
Part V is pretty awesome so far.
Okuyasu got shafted for koichi, for koichi. I liked how his stand evolved but the hand was a cool stand that didnt get enough face time along with okuyasu.
Even after all i have read in series 5, series 4 is still my second favorite of the series. I just like the case of characters and the villian was really good in it. He wasnt after some absurd goal like world domination but a more normal one like living normally…with a few murders thrown in the mix. Also, his stand is killer queen. I wish one of his attacks was "the show must go on" because i love queen but that huge shout out was enough for me.
I really liked series 4 also. I liked how the whole serial killer with a stand thing was done. What better stand for a serial killer than the ability to erase evidence (by exploding it)? And I also liked Kira's motivation. He wanted to keep living his life and satisfying his urges (without getting caught). But I also liked that Araki didn't try to give him some tragic past to make people feel sorry for him or anything.
I also thought Josuke was a pretty cool main character.
Okuyasu did get a pretty cool scene near the end though.
I still need to catch up on series 5 though.
I do agree that Kira was a really well done villain, and Josuke was a great main character, if only for his ability to kick ass with a healing Stand.
Maybe I was a bit harsh on Part IV. It does have a really good and colorful cast. Those two loser stand users suddenly shrinking was really weird, though.
Does part IV have Stands named after movies?
No, Part IV's Stands are pretty much directly named after famous American/western musicians/songs/etc.
"Bad Company," "Killer Queen," and "Boy II Man," for example.
I always found it hilarious how more upfront about getting names from pop culutre Araki started to be in Part IV and onward. Sadly, this means that Part IV and above will most likely never come to the States (unless Viz changes the Stand names, which Araki would never allow).
Yeah, that was weird how those guys shrunk. At first I liked the puppet guy because he was really creepy, but then he turned into a joke.
I do agree that maybe Araki didn't think all of series IV out at first. There was even a time in the series where it seemed like Kira was going soft, but nothing really came of it. It was kind of explained later (by saying something like Kira was undergoing changes or something, I don't remember exactly). I think Araki probably changed his mind half-way or something.
It seems like it was just continued because the fans wanted it to. It seemed like it should have ended in part III, because of the defeat of Dio.
It would've felt kinda weird if it ended after Jotaro's Bizarre Adventure.
Well, true, but it seems weird seeing all these new characters. And there doesn't seem to be a "Joestar" connection anymore.
That said, I haven't really read IV, but you know, I liked the whole "journey across the world" setup.
Although I like the journey across the world thing, I enjoyed IV's setting as well. It was cool to see Araki make a fictional place and add "points of interest" that related to what happened in the story.
There's definitely a connection of the Joestar bloodline in the main characters, but it does stretch it a bit - especially Giorno, you have to add 2 and 2 for that to make sense.
I think Araki always intended to continue the story, looking at the ending of part III. I'm really glad he continued the story, Parts IV and V were really creative (though I do think that Araki didn't think Part IV completely through at first). I liked Part IV's "wacky adventures around town" feel, and Part V's mafioso action.
My favorite Part V character so far is Mista. He's pretty funny, and Sex Pistols is a badass stand. Other stands I liked were Grateful Dead, Mr. President, and Purple Haze.
Paapuru Heizu!
That stand is fucking crazy. He cant even control that s.o.b. Although, for some reason i am not a huge fan of series 5. I dont know what about it but i guess i have to read it from beginning to end to get a better feel of it like i got with the first four series.
just got done the fight with ACDC and all I have to say is HOT DAMN this is awsome
ahh, acdc, wham and Kars, i remember them fondly. You still have yet to get to the real meat of the series although the haman sections kick ass.
also the fight used intelligence and more than brute strength to win.
well back to lurk I go for more
Where do you download Series 2 from?
#lurk on irc.irchighway.net (go to gotlurk.net or .com and read the faq on the first page)
I can not recommend (if you are able to use it N not unwilling to learn it) it more highly
Or you could track down the the raws or the Scanslations (from Ignition-One)
try finding a place called JoJo Higher Voltage on yahoo and vist their forums you should find something there.
where do they host part 2 on the forum or on the site? ignition-one doesnt host their downloads anymore either. I see irc as the only option.
There was a torrent file that I think I DLed from that place that had
Johnathan & Joseph's Bizarre Adventure translated by IO but I can't remember exactly where I got the file from.
I forgot about torrents. They have a torrent of it on boxtorrents(both part 1 and 2) but i dont know if you guys have access. You dont really need to register to download anyway if you find a boxtorrents torrent. I hadnt and managed to download a 11gb file.
Of What?
(Jerry Tell him to stop calling me crazy.)
It isnt particularly relevant but it was of G Gundam. Most of the stuff on boxtorrents doesnt interest me but still, it is a great service
So jealous, the amount of space on my computer is laughable.
So I get it I-1 stopped at around Chapter 120 or such? Man that sucks :/
Anyone know a faster way to DL the chapters at HigherVoltage that are in Rapidshare?
BTW anyone got any info on the Bandai JoJo game? All I know is that it will be based off Part I (& it had better be a good game).
For everyone's information, i highly highly highly highly doubt that Ignition-one is going to continue with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for various reasons after bringing up the subject with the leader.
Rapidshare is what it is i guess and all i know about the game is that you pose to get haman power back and that it should be coming out soon enough.
Since I couldn't find it in this thread–exactly where can I download the OVAs? Subbed, hopefully.
damn, you are gonna have a tough time with that unless you have access to boxtorrents which you can sign up for now i think. They have the first and better ova.

ME WANT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh damn! That looks nice, finally a Jojo game with the hamon users instead of stand users for a change.
I just noticed that Bizarre is spelt wrong in the title (of thread)
It's probably because of the upcoming OVA of Part I.
I'd like to see a new game for Part III, maybe Part IV, but I doubt it.
yea, a new part III game would be cool but that won't happen. A part iv game will never ever happen despite the fact that it kicks ass.
Neat pics, now get me a trailer & I can add it to my 'to-buy list'.
…yeah a Part 4 game would rock.
BTW anyone know where I can find coloured artwork of Part 3's characters (specially those from te DC game?)
so um hate to be a noob, but where can i find the manga now? both links i found at the beginning of the thread werent working.
Thanks.
(also, the volume covers would be awesome if theres a .rar/.zip of them somewhere)
edit: just cant find part 1 and 2 now ><;
Got Lurk?
