Rubber Soul - Robber SoulWhile I was gone, I read all of part IV. Pretty good, but not quite as good as Part III. Okuyasu was my favorite and he had a badass stand, but I was sad he didn't get a lot of action. Rohan was pretty awesome too, probably my second favorite. Killer Queen was a pretty cool stand, though it's last power, Bites the Dust, was pretty bullshit. I also really liked the Italian chef and Pearl Jam, as well as the hobo with the tower stand "Super Fly." I thought the villain was pretty good, particularly because I did research on serial killers and his origins/personality are pretty much that of the usual serial killer. And it was pretty sad seeing Joseph so… old. :(
Part V is pretty awesome, out of the protagonist stands I either like Sex Pistols or Purple Haze the most. I also liked the Grateful Dead stand, partially because I'm a Deadhead. But now I'm caught up with Higher Voltage and trapped in a JoJo Purgatory. :(

I'm pretty sure they didn't but I don't know, I haven't played the game myself. Plus, I have no idea why they'd change the stand names.

the reason why the names in english have to be changed is because all of those artists have their name copyrighted/trademarked. naturally it's only trademarked in english (in a lot of cases) so there's no problem with using the name in japan (katakana). the american localizers/translators are changing the names to save them from copyright infringement laws, not to piss people off.

Yeah, there was a law made recently about using celebrity names as characters when Spawn creator Todd McFarlane made a character in Spawn who was an evil mobster named Antionio Twistelli, inspired by the name of hockey player Tony Twist. This caused Mr. Twist to get all pissed off that his name inspired the evil mobster Twistelli's (Allthough I don't know why, it technically wasn't his name but a different version of it.) and sued McFarlane for millions of dollars..and won. What does this mean? Basically, they're wont be any of the original names for the stands and characters in Jojo. Most of them will have to be changed.

As for the dog thing… I'm neutral, but I have no idea how they'll do some of Iggy's fights. :P

I wonder if after Araki finishes SBR in Ultra Jump, he'll come back to Weekly Jump and do an 8th Jojo series or if he's planning on ending it with SBR. I really hope not. I'd like to see a brand new Jojo in the style of Jotaro or Josuke again.

Yeah, most people who I got to read Giorno's story thought it was a bunch of Shonen-Ai up until they got to some of the fights and story lines. I'd say that the reason most people think this is because Bruno and Giorno look kinda like some new age gay ravers…and Guido has girl eyes.

I just got GioGio's Bizarre Adventure for the PS2 and so far am like it but am stuck at the 10-3 stage when you fight Oasis. Am trying to do the Secret Factors for the stage but am still geting beat by that guy, anyone have any tips on beating this stage?

Getting the secret factors in the fighting game are a bitch. Just because like, 8 of them revolved around that cheap Dio. I still haven't gotten New Kakyoin.

I know and I tried it but I cant do the 10-3 one, I dont get it. When I do it I always mess up the last part of the secret factor and have to restart the stage.

The intro by Araki explain what happent in part 1 and 2. All the graphic violence we all love is still their with no hints of editing, So far all the names and stands names are intact. But all the sound effects are….. STILL IN JAPANESE! Yep it seem Viz finally understand that they dont have to translate the sound effect anymore. But this might just be only for Jojo but Ill wait till the other jump vol come out, but anyway it looks like Viz release of Jojo will be good.

Sweet, hopefully it stays that way when they reach part 4. It would be hard to imagine Echoes any other way.

Ok, I've been a JoJo fan for a long time, but only for series 3 (because a few years ago I started with the Dreamcast series 3 game, and then watched the original oav series, then found the manga, etc. - series 3 was the easiest to find basically).
But now I'm getting more…I've got all of 4, but haven't read them yet.
So, finally, I'm going to try and read the rest.

Sort of figured that out when I came across that torrent that I posted the link to in the Manga thread but it'd be a bit troublesome to redownload the translated version of a chapter I already have combine that with the fact that the torrent is a bit sluggish than the other one which carries the series in raw format and it becomes even more troublesome (please don't IRC my ass Gilrules).

It probably has to do with the fact that I'm at my apartment though. For some reason, when I'm at home (with reliable 56k instead of whatever "supposed-to-be-super-fast-but-isn't" connection I have here) I'll try it again. I've had this happen to me before...where perfectly good torrents won't work at my aparment, but work fine at home.
Anyway, I'm trying to get series 1 and 2 mostly. I got a few chapters some years ago when Ignition-One started (it Ignition-One wasn't it?) but I'm missing more than I have.
Oh, and about IRC...I've used it once for One Piece, and it worked (thanks to the IRC guide on this forum), but I'm reluctant to try it again. It seemed easy enough, but I might be missing something important, and I don't want to end up looking like a fool. Mainly because I can never get the !rules thing to work...and if I don't know the rules for each specific channel, then I'm afraid I'll get kicked off or something.
