Komamura got suckerpunched halfway across town. Iba's standing right next to the guy who did it. Why the hell wouldn't he fight?

Anyways, the difference between Shikai and Bankai Ikkaku is stupidly large. It's been shown more than once that the Bankai's where most of his strength lies. He's not like Kira or one of the others, with some fancy ability he can rely on in the meantime.

That said, good chapter. I am both pissed that Ikkaku's manly pride made him lose, and happy that Iba gets to something other than look cool.

Also, yay Yumichika flipping out.

It should be apparent that the reason Ikkaku lost was because he refused to use his Bankai because he didn't want the other Captains / Vice Captains seeing it and forcing him to leave Squad 11.

Komamura's punch was really awesome, and I'm always up for a Komamura fight and development, since the ever-awesome Kenpachi vs. Komamura and the whole thing with Tousen and Komamura. I really hope Ikkaku does something else though. He's on captain level, it would be nice to see him get up after Komamura beats Po, and do mortal damage to an Espada or something.

Not always about strength, yo. Maybe Iba's release has something that can counteract whatever the hell Po's bobblehead release does.

...I was wondering, is there anyone in Soul Society with a Shikai that's even more "hax" than Yumichika's?
Aside from Aizen, of course.

I mean, he can beat a Bankai with that thing under the right conditions.

For Yumichika, I'm sure there's some kind of limit on how much spirit energy he can absorb, which means people like Yamamoto or Kyoraku wouldn't have any major problems.

The only one I can think of that's close to it would be Soi Fon's Suzumebachi. Since once you're hit twice(which considering how good her hand-to-hand combat abilities are) in the same spot you're dead. Then again, that's exactly why if we do see Soi Fon fight again she'll be overwhelmed and forced to go bankai. I can't even think on what hers can do considering her shikai is basically a two-hit kill so how exactly would that be improved upon.

The sad thing is the same can be said about Aizen…which sucks...

These fights have all sucked, though. Most of them are RELEASE, I WIN. 69's fight was especially bad – they never even explained why his shikai is "hard to predict" or whatever. It just is. And it's only a blade on a chain.

I figured it was because of the name, Kazeshini (Deathwind, for those of you not versed in Japanese), that it moved like the wind and was therefore impossible to predict its movement… maybe I'm reading too much into that. I didn't mind it, it was simple and effective enough.

Well, Aaroniero arguably had an incredibly broken release, but he died before he could even use it because Kubo would rather stroke Rukia's cunt and make a dramatic plot point.

So… I hope these Fraccion battles end up soon. And its pretty obvious that Barragan is the No. 1 Espada if he has all these ridiculously powerful Fraccion who are on the level of Vice Captains. After Po is defeated I wonder where the series will turn. It could go to the fight matchups against the Espada and Aizen and Co. escaping from the fire and the Vizards arriving, or Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra.

Any three of them could be #1 Espada, really. Barragan because he is the obvious choice, Stark because he's the least you'd expect due to being lazy, and Halibel because she's under the radar about the whole thing.

Kubo could just pull any of those names out of a hat and make it work, honestly.

I dunno. It just seemed when Barragan made that fuckawesome chair and took charge of things when Aizen and Co. were gone he would seem like No. 1. Not to mention his crown. It could work as him just being the 3rd Espada that has always wanted to be a higher rank, or was the previous 1st Espada and doesn't want to let that position go, but it would be a bit of a letdown if Slut # 43 or TRADITIONAL LAZY BASTARD IS THE TOP TIER was the strongest.

Yeah, but Barragan also put up a I'MA BIG MAN, HUFF HUFF GRRRR front when he took charge, which reminded me of Nnoitra and how he was trying to act like something he wasn't.

If he was #1 Espada, he probably wouldn't even bother going "YOU'D BETTER NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT."

As much as I'd like him to be #1, I'm guessing that he's #2 and feels that he deserves to be #1.

EDIT: Or yeah, he could have been the previous #1 and was bumped down by one of the other two. Didn't think about that.

Yeah, if Gin and Tousen were Vaizard, someone would have noticed or said something by now, especially Urahara.

I just really wanna see Gin's Bankai, really. And Nanao's Shikai. That's about it. Aizen's Bankai is probably too broken for words.

Aizen himself said he wants that power so hollowfication would be a fitting last power-up after Ichigo has beaten his bankai. After that they'd need a whole new arc just to take him down.

In my opinion, the whole reason the Arrancar serve AiToGi is because they managed to get stronger than all them WITHOUT Hollowification. That, or Aizen's Bankai could all have them under some kind of ridiculous spell. Maybe since Aizen's shikai does super-powerful illusions, I can imagine his Bankai easily doing massive mind control. Gin… I think his has something to do with snakes... and we know Tousen's, of course. Honestly, though, Tousen's is kinda useless at this point in the ballgame: most of the fighters can easily use their other senses in place of their sight and hearing.

The Arrancar work for Aizen because his rule will bring about a world where Hollows are not persecuted and are given more power. Aizen is powerful enough to accomplish this goal, so their best bet is siding with him.

Personally I wished Iba would fight and reveal the name of his Zanpakuto but I think this is Kubo's way of saying "the preliminaries are over", using a character whom we sort of know both Shikai and Bankai for. (OK, we don't know the full extent of Komamura's Bankai but we did see it released against Kenpachi)

There are some characters who deserved death and should of gotten them like rukia for example.

That chapter was a tad bit dissapointing IMO, I was expecting more of a challenge from po even if komamaru went bankai. The good thing about this chapter is that we got to see what komamaru's bankai looks like head on. All I remember from seeing it previously was when he fought against kenpachi and only a arm was shown.
