It doesn't sound very natural. There's too big a pause between syllables.
Usopp is one of those words that technically has two syllables, but you say it like it's one. You cut the "ooo" short and skip to the "Sop".
At least it's not as bad as the Singapore dub, where he's called YOU-SOP. But then again, the Odex dub has a bunch of weird quirks, some of which are just hilarious (in a good way).

Before people start to complain, you should really figure out exactly what Luffy is saying originally and see if there are different ways to translate it. His phrase could very well mean many things. It also could be a problem of lip flaps. Since they managed to put in "Sounds complicated, Chopper. Can you help him?" in there then "So it's a mystery disease." might have used too few lip movements.
They could always just start using "Sounds complicated" as a running gag for the US version.

Watching the FUNi dub after 3 years of 4Idiots is like going to Disneyland after spending the summer playing Game Boy in your kiddy pool. Yeah, it's JUST like that.
Anyway, my hope is that once FUNi dubs up to 206, they'll go back and dub the other eps before continuing on to Davy Back. That way the voices will be fresh and believable, and no ones voice will have time to change in any real way. Compare that to when DBZ redubbed the first eps. Not only had the actors voices changed substantially, several actors had left the studio entirely. I'm desperately hoping to avoid that debacle.
Also they better write a whole new script and not just take the 4Shame scripts and tweak them a bit.

That's actually the way I say it unless I want to avoid sounding pretentious then I say it the "english"-y way. I basically just mimick the way that Luffy's seiyuu pronounces it.
Uh, considering Ussop's name is suppose to be "Uso" + "Aesop", I'd say the dub is pronouncing it CORRECTLY. Neither the Japanese or English pronounciations are wrong as Aesop is pronounced differently in Japan.

Funimation has the rights to dub every One Piece episode made. It's just that they had to do 144-206 first, because that was Cartoon Network's order. As for 1-143, Viz holds distribution rights, but not dubbing rights.

Yep, it was Pioneer who owned distribution rights for the first two seasons. The whole One Piece situation really does mirror DBZ back in the 90s.
No, Kidmark has the First Season of DB, Pioneer (now Geneon) had the Liscense to S1-2 of DBZ
big difference between the 2 situations though: the DBZ License has run out already, FUNi has Redubbed and rereleased those Seasons, but the DB License, as far as I know, will NEVER expire, so you will NEVER see an Uncut DVD release of them. Unless you live in Austrailia

Yeah, the episode was good but a bit messy. Just a ton of inconsistencies. Sure, they were meant to be there, but it looks sloppy sometimes.
