@SympathyX:
Honestly… softmodding is the easiest thing ever. You dont have to know anything about hacking.
All you need is an SD card and download and extract an archive of files to it.
It's somehow even easier than it used to be.
Do not waste your money. Seriously. ESPECIALLY for just one game
Agreed - as long as you follow it to the letter, it's not too hard - there are some very good websites around - Depends on your firmware, but it's even more straight forward now than it was back in 3.2e land.
@Maikeru:
I am not softmodding when I have no idea what I'm doing, especially on my sister's Wii.
It might be easy for a lot of people, but that doesn't mean it is for me.
It's not a waste of money for me either. For one, I do not care about money.
Secondly, I will use the TV for things other than playing the games.
The Wii will come in handy if I find other games I want.
I have enough money to spare on a few items.
I'm not saying it's for everyone, and I for one (though I'd love to work for Nintendo) am thoroughly against region locking as it's not only silly, but limits their profits considerably -
Please feel free to do as you wish, I know that I was hesitant to mess around in the inards of my console for a long time, and I swore that I would never once hack a console -
If you have the money to buy a european wii, then seriously, go for it. It's a great way to support One Piece, and to make a statement to Namcobandai that people are interested to actually buy the game. I had already bought Unlimited Cruise Ep1 and Ep2 both Japanese and Pal versions to show my appreciation, but under financial strains I had to sell them - I still have the ISO's on my machine.
A second point (though probably not something everyone will want to do anyway), is hacking does allow you to mess around with the music of certain games - I'm planning on doing a full walkthrough of Ep1 and Ep2 PAL versions with music from the anime, since I've been schooled on how to do this by Jinjo402 and a few others.
But, as I'm sure just about everyone will agree, Maikeru Shinigami, I applaud you for wanting to pay for the games and ensure that you play them as they were intended, and for supporting One Piece.
