Basically I think they're a good match because their personalities are so vastly different, making for fun interactions, and yet they have similar experiences and the same level of maturity that sort of sets them apart from the rest of the crew. Oda has been oddly put them together in many situations and the anime hints things even more, BUT THIS IS AN ART TOPIC!

I'm trying to get into the habit of drawing often again since I'm on break now, and I actually turned out some good stuff today.

Including younger Franky and Robin

He looks too skinny, but maybe that's just because I'm used to drawing the new and improved Franky.

And if you'll pardon some Dragonball, this sketch I made after listening to "Orange Hero" ten too many times. I'll probably color it later.

there were some scaling issues with the bg so Gokuh looks a little on the huge side.

I should never ink anything, my drawings really look best in just pencil like this. I think this is a pretty good start for getting back into my groove.

Even though they were rush jobs, I still kinda like them because of all the fun of the matches, and they've been helping me improve my tablet skills. Ha…no hard feelings if you voted for some of the characters I campaigned against.

I don't understand the "boring" vibe, maybe imitating feels a bit ordinary but your work is very colourful, warm and full of life. Somewhere down the line you'll eventually invent your own creations and I for one can't wait.
