i dunno who gave isshin the charm but he was trying to make ichigo hold on to it, well he probally wanted to give it to Ichigo so when Kon was in his body then he'd be able to sense him, cause Isshin said to Kon that he knew what was going on from the very start, like when the went to soul society.
They hafta explain how he somehow lost his shigami powers cause he said he was powerless to save his wife at "that" time, or somethign along the lines of that.
Thats probably cos he was in a gigai for 20 yrs and probably wasnt able to save his wife back then..

it looks like it, we saw a bit of Chad's past in the anime when he is fighitng the flower dude, but its probally one of those pre manga strips that the author did before he released belach

Honestly, I'm happier about the possible return of Byakuya and Renji than Isshin having powers or anything.
As for not being able to save the mom, I'd say that he was just stuck in the body at the time, and couldn't just get his strength back for a suprise attack.

I honestly think Isshin was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He made a big deal about Karin and Yuzu, in terms of why he's so protective of them, so he very well could have been looking after them when Masaki was killed.
Besides, Masaki could have had spiritual powers too. And if she did Isshin probably thought she could take care of herself, i.e: Know when a Hollow is near and run away or contact him.
Actually I'm pretty sure Masaki had spiritual powers too. How else could she have protected Ichigo from a Hollow that normal people can't see?

Isshin wasn't even around at the time, so there's no way that could be the reason. And him being stuck in the body back then but not right now… Well, you know, it's possible, but much too convoluted a situation for Kubo to even consider.
I don't think there even is any further explanation. Isshin wasn't around that time to protect her, and he regrets it. Kubo seems to bring it forth as simple as that, and I think that's exactly what it is. Otherwise it would have been mentioned by now already.

That would make sense, I suppose, except I believe he included their target with the ''three''. Urahara being the target is debatable, but it could very well be the case. Aizen would probably want to take him down considering the knowledge he has at his disposal.
That is, of course, if these latest baddies that have shown up are, in fact, an advanced version of Aizen's Hollow/Death God hybrids, and not an other group entirely. Which would annoy me.

Whoa, the animators really max out the onsen fanservice in episode 47.
So glad to see the Shirou/Momo/Gin/Ran fight animated. It's one of my favorite manga parts. Gin's eye is freakier in color!
