We've been in the Soul Society for ages now, and I don't really mind, though I know a lot of people do. I just really want to find out more - especially more about Aizen at this point.

Finally did a little catching up and now I'm up to the 165th chapter. Things seemed slow for a while, but they seemed to catch up inbetween that ten chapter void (a couple of months). It's been a while. I forget some of the characters and whatnot, but they're coming back. SPOILERS I'm enjoying the battle so far between Ichigo and Byakuya.END SPOILERS I can't wait to see what happens on chapter 169, it sounds real interesting.
Okay, I'm up to where Yoruichi saved Ichigo from Byakuya, and I can say one thing about this manga; Ichigo has to almost ALWAYS go through training or some kind of powerup. It's kind of annoying and messes with the momentum a bit.
Yeah, I agree. It kind of reminds me of Dragonball Z with the training scenario (not like it's a bad thing though). I hope he doesn't have to go through another one.
As for where this manga is going (I remember someone commenting on that), I can't see very much happening after the Soul Society arc either. I imagine a powered-up Ichigo will rip through that one gang of monsters who 'killed' his mom. Then after that, some back to normal life kind of scenario and maybe Ichigo will leave his friends behind or something. Or I'm kind of hoping for history to repeat. Maybe…... SPOILERS We'll see a sad end for Ichigo and Rukia, something like what happened with Kaien Dono. Well, that's somewhat what I'm hoping for. END SPOILERS They still also have to explain what's going on with Ichigo and the hollow bit (with the mask). Though, they might have explained that in the newest chapters, but I personally don't know yet.

Bleach is….really interesting
I liked it alot in the beginning
the whole thing about Death and Hollows and things
but after Ichigo went into the um...(don't know name) death realm or soul realm or something....it's just becoming another Samurai story...
at least to meand samurai stories have lost its appeal to me (Samurai Deeper Kyo, Kenshin, etc)
so right now I'm not a big fan of Bleach...at all
not until at least Ichigo gets outta the death realm or soul realm

Does anybody else think of Bleach as tribute to every manga ever?
Think about it….ridiculous amounts of powerand energy (dbz), a detective like person who kills demons/hollows (yyh), everybody is a swordsman (rk), you know how the series is going to end pretty much (saving rukia and eliminating whatever greater power their is)...which is just like (OP/Berserk), and finally the never ending powers up of bottomless energy storage facility that is Ichigo's body (Naruto).

Not so much a "tribute" I think, as much as simply an amalgamation of all the classic cliches. Not that I'm necessarily knocking the series. It takes a lot of work to take so many "tired" elements and use them to make a fresh and interesting series, and Bleach is certainly fresh and interesting despite its roots. Greater than the sum of its parts, if you will.

Anyway, I just started reading this series after watching the anime and I must say I am impressed by it ^^
So let's get down to discussion. How do you think they are going to defeat Aizen now that he has removed the boundary between a Shinigami and hollow? Plus, I think Ichigo is getting there soon through his near miss as a hollow. What the hell is Urahara up to?

.I'm kind of disappointed that Hinamori and Hitsugaya didn't die. I mean, don't get me wrong! Hitsugaya's cool, and Hinamori is a sweetheart, but come on, if you were as strong, ruthless and as deplorably utilitarian as Aizen wouldn't you make sure that those who could possibly be a nuissance to you in the long run really are - uh, i don't know - dead?

Anyway. I'm sleepy head now, so I can't think anything good, but here is one question...
What happened to the fight between Yama-jii and those two (forgot the name) who possess two sword each? Did I miss some chapter?? <- Highlight it.

I think the fight was somoehow interrupted by that announcement from the Vice captain of Team 4?
Oh and I think the last thread about Bleach is actually a comparison among the mangas that had shinigamis.

But if it was interrupted, then they should continue it after Aizen and them left… I don't like their attitude in chapter 180... It's too relaxed... :/

yup, yup. Ukitake Juushirou and Kyoraku Shunsui. They were the ones who were supposed to go up against Yama, that is before the announcement <_<. I know it was a good thing to have found out the whole thing about Aizen, but man oh man, you get all worked up and then…zip.

Shunsui though! He's so entertaining on so many levels, whether he's spazzing out and making moves on his Vice captain "Nana-chan" :lol: or stepping up to the plate for more serious moments… -
I won't mind. Well I guess since they have found out about Aizen, there is a bigger crisis out there than to have an internal fight? And besides, I don't think those two can win against Yamaji anyway.
And I am so confused with the 13 captains & vice-captains names etc. XD

That's my one quibble with Kubo, he always starts too many fights! There were tons going on when Aizen was revealed as a bad guy and now all of a sudden they've stopped and everyone's friends? Although I'm glad this arc is going to end soon (PLEASE END PLEEEAAASSSEEE) that bothered me. Gives me a "Naruto" feel when it gets to be nothing but fighting volume after volume…
It's kind of creepy that Byakuya would marry someone who looks close enough like a relative though, I though Hisana was his sister before his appearance in 179 :lol:
Also, is Ishida still owned? I've skipped a lot of chapters in this arc so I'm not sure if that's been resolved about his powers... that'd suck.
I also despise what Rukia has become these last few volumes, I hope she makes some kind of recovery (*glares at Kubo). She kicked ass before.
I still <3 Bleach though.
Edit: Oh, from the newest chapter… best line EVER "Rangiku: My boobs were gonna fall off.." :lol: thanks ocean!

They were fighting because Shunsui and Ukitake didn't think Rukia should be killed under the circumstances, but Yamamoto felt that the Central 46's decisions should be absolutely obeyed no matter what. When it was revealed that Aizen had just been manipulating the whole situation anyway, there was no real reason for them to continue opposing each other.

Anyway, I made a new wallpaper of Bleach ^^ Not the best cos I realized I chose the wrong image to work on half way through.
You might probably notice the wierd outline of the characters but I can't remove them cos it will remove some body parts from some of the characters who has parts of their body covered by the white outline. (This white outline is the reason why I realized this image isn't easy to work on)
And I was thinking about how I should add in the title for this wallpaper and the idea to add it into the logo came "Falling from Heaven…" ;)

No, no word yet if he's getting them back. He probably will get them back somehow. Maybe he'll even be (gasp) stronger!
Uy, but I guess we'd know to expect that from a shounen anime, especially one that has decided to be a reference guide to all shounen manga cliche's known to man.
- I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way. There's a certain charm that the formula allows. But I don't necessarily mean it in a good way either. Maybe when the arc finally finishes I'll learn how to love Bleach again. :unsure: -
And hey, I actually do like Ishida, which is unusual. Usually, he falls under the "character type" that gets on my nerves, but he's really cool.
On the upside, we haven't seen too much of Don Kanonji. I could never stand that guy.

Yea, I know Rukia's leg has a wierd colour but it was already like that in the scan. Took me a long time to do. I thought of using Urahara's image in one of the manga cover but it didn't work then I saw this scan.

Of course Rukia's still going to be one of the lead female, I can't see things changing even though she's staying. I'm hoping the next arc will be the "Grand Fisher gets revenge" arc, sort of a break before the inevitable Hollow war. Maybe Rukia could even be useful, somehow?

My guess… Urahara did it probably he needed to hide it as soon as possible so that nobody else would notice about the existance, and Rukia happened to pass by the area. Then, he still didn't want people at SS know what he has done, so he trained Ichigo to retrieve / save her.

Yea, when Ichigo left for the Soul Society, I remember Urahara saying "I'm counting on you" and he said something like "It's I who need your help" when Ichigo said that he would need Urahara's help for training.
