Revamping the Shichibukai = Seven Deadly Sins Theory

With Moria's introduction and his obvious laziness, we have a little more to work on with this:

Doflamingo: Envy
Crocodile: Greed
B. Kuma: Wrath (?)
Moria: Sloth
Mihawk: Pride
Jimbei: Gluttony (?)
Unknown: Lust (?)

Kuma and Jimbei don't particularly strike me as the kind to be lustful. Doflamingo in his own right is very envious of dreaming pirates, Crocodile was very Greedy and went to extreme means to obtain an entire nation as his own; Moria is obviously very slothful, considering his personal motto and his constant sleeping; Mihawk is very arrogant and Prideful, whether he has the right to be or not. We haven't seen much of B. Kuma to make a judgement, but we do know he is a huge man who carries a bible. That's all. He doesn't particularly strike me as lustful, though.

Whale Sharks are filter feeders and eat a TON of food, so Gluttony makes a good guess for him.

Perhaps it's just coincidence, but who knows? I mean, put in the right context, it would make sense if the Shichibukai DID represent the 7 deadly sins. Part of finding One Piece could be the Absolution of Sin.

Well, it's true that the seven deadly sins can be applied to just about anything, but it's interesting seeing them applied to the Shichibukai. :3

I don't really see how it would affect the story however, though those are some cool analogies. I don't remember seeing Doflamingo as envious of pirates, just as a general jackass; but I only watched the anime of that part… maybe I'll read it sometime. ^^;

A lustful Shichibukai would be awesome though, they'd piss the hell out of Sanji. XD;

I kind of fail to see the relevance of this to anything. Oda has always made a point to show that the Strawhats follow their own morality and sense of justice. Indeed, most of the "seven sins" are already represented much better in the Strawhats themselves. Why they'd have to subject themselves to an external moral code in search for Absolution escapes me. It'd defeat Oda's creed of "do what you think is right".

Actually, I do really want the final Shichibukai to be a woman. Just… maybe more of a wrath type.

Anyway, as for the current disscussion on whenever or not we will have a female Shichibukai I am thinking that there might be one, unless there is going to be a "captain" type of Shichibukai. But nonetheless, I really want to see a female one. Doesn't have to be lustful, just somekind of badass of the opposite gender.

Personally I don't think the Seven Sins have to do anything with the Shichubukai.

Obviously, on ANY character, Oda has put at least one sin, and hell he sure took it far.

I dunno if it even has to do with the Seven Sins, I won't be surprised if Oda has those 7-8 traits in his mind to put on every character's personality.
While at some it can be a quirk, like the SHs, at some others it can be pretty serious and fatal, like the Shichibukai [get a damn shortcut for that word already!].

I don't wanna get all party-pooper on yo ass, Ace, but I have to disagree with your intepretation of the sin of "Pride" is. Actually before I do that, can you elaborate on what you really think it to be? That way I can form my argument properly.
