And is it a name that will please fans of the original? It may have no pun in the name but if it was something like "Super cool crazy monkey eyed monkey Masira and the grand compass!!!!" then it can be just as bad.

I can understand not releasing the VA's, because someone might get fired, but episode names 2 weeks before it airs is just silly torture.

I honestly think they've finished at least 8, and will have the full 13 for the DVD done by the end of October. Still don't think we'll see said DVD til' 08, though.

Well when they said back in July how they had about 5 or 6 done, that probably means they'll all wrapped up, Uncut and TV Edited versions, ready to air. With THAT in mind, I would say probably about 10.
Now considering Colleen said her line about goats which was all the way up there around Episode 170, and how the process goes (recording lines seperately) I wouldn't be surprised if they were nearing 30 with most of the lines recorded and just needed a few tweaks, post-production, and the necessary editing that'll be done for TV.
Also good we have a concrete date now. Weird about the titles but whatever, No Puns, I'm okay with. Hell, it's not so much the titles themselves that got me, I actually just like the triumphant fanfare in the episode title with Luffy announcing it (it just wouldn't really work with their short punny titles 4Kids made)

Not sure what episode, but it's in Skypeia. Near the middle? I'm pretty sure he appears after Going Merry is on the sacrificial altar. Why do we need VAs' for animals? Thy should just stick to the original one, but I have NO objection.

It's been said before, but I'll say it again.
It costs money to keep the original VA for the animals.
Its can be cheaper some times to get people who are already doing voices or already on the payroll to do voices for animals, instead of paying the Japanese voice actors for their voice.

Could you tell us how many letters and spaces the title contains?
Considering it's Just an episodes title, It kinda baffles me as to why you guys are apparently sworn to secrecy on it.
I mean, if it were a VA or something I could see, but it's not like the episode title is a HUGE deal to FUNi… but I guess companies can be weird about that stuff sometimes

ROFL~! I actually agree. I don't care and am alittle disturbed that anyone does about how the titles are translated. As long as they're not the stupid 4kids puns, we're pretty much ensured, direct translations or something similar to the literal translations but changed to sound kewler in english. Either is fine. I hope at this point, ppl rly dont expect Funi to be completely changing titles if they went far enough to get ALL the original names okayed for dvd release.
As for the official date being confirmed. Damn. I was still hoping CN would just cave and tear the 4kids episodes off the air MID ARC because of fan outrage and anticipation. I just thought it would've been sweet for them to go "crap..you know what? Y'know what?! We can't even air this -censored- anymore! Just throw on the new dub and call it a day!"

So they dubbed about 20 episodes..that doesnt seem right but…oh wait nvm~! Someone mentioned @ the Funi panel that they started dubbing background characters way before they even had the main cast yet!

Toon Zone is a big animation website that is often visited by officials in the animation business. For example, for a time, writers for the DCAU shows like Dwayne McDuffie would visit the forums to give some exclusive information and comments. They are also given exclusive interviews with people in the business and schedules from 4Kids, Williams Street (the guys in charge of Toonami and Adult Swim), etc.

Because the title of the first episode is actually "Ultimate Showdown? The Boy from Leaf Village vs the Man Who Would be Pirate King!" Beyond dubbing the show, Funi was able to get the rights to produce a Naruto crossover episode to create more buzz about One Piece. The two groups square off, epic battle style. There is of course no conclusion, so as not to piss off any Naruto fans when the Straw Hats obliterate the other side, and to leave it open for future crossover episodes.

You do realize that they don't dub in order, right? That should have been obvious when Colleen said her goat line when they only had about 6 episodes done.
It's all very nice for the US having an air date, but when will air in the UK is what i want to know. We don't even have Toonami anymore (it was renamed to Cartoon Network Too).
So sad.
Maybe the Naruto marathons were a help after all. They gave Funi a chance to complete more episodes so they wouldn't put their dub on hiatus.
It's still annoying though.
