Wow..this was unexpected. Do Japanese companies usually do this?!
The only thing I've seen close was Takehiko INoue's site which has Eng,Chinese, and Japanese versions..
What do u think the purpose of this is? At the very least now we can bombard them with pettitions to license One Piece to Funimation or something,right?

i think Drum island is considered the start of one piece maybe

so 1st season would be Ep 1 - ROugetown
and 2 would be Drum- End of 4Kids Dub?

I'm surprised some of you people are so surprised. Toei Animation had an American website back in 2004, they just totally revamped it. If you read the "Future of One Piece" thread I've posted about how I've actually called their L.A. office and was told that they're working on a new website back in February. But then again I'm just assuming things, so I don't mean to sound rude.

Anyway, I'm also distressed about them using the 4Kids names, but I also find it weird that they refer to "Devil's Fruits" in the "About" section of "One Piece". Also, they list Jems Sportswear and Trends International, Inc. as "One Piece" merchandisers. First time I've heard of that.

So what do you expect me to do, obsess over their new site? They've got like… 5 shows dubbed in America, and the best one has a terrible dub. It's stupid to assume they'll dub One Piece themselves, because at least not to my knowledge, there is no English company of Toei. Also, you'd think a company that's been animating the same show for over 10 years would be able to get some words right. I know it's Japanese, but Oda has spelled their names numerous times.

They're using the 4Kids names because… Well, it's the version that's out in America right now. And it's the american site, therefore it's gonna focus on the said shows airing on America (or about to).

Also, 4Kids spells out Sanji's name as "Sanji"... Not sure where Toei got "Sandji" from. XD

Well they did produce the dub for "Bobobo" themselves. That was almost a full year after their failed R1 DVD line.

To me the site's like a long-running popular magazine. They put a lot of effort into the content and presentation, but after all that time they can't help but slip up on a few simple things. There's still sections that haven't been uploaded, so let's hope they update where updating's needed.

You beat me tothe punch. I'm pretty sure they haven't 'pulled out' tho. Especially since they have a site and an american company. Also I heard the SD dvds were decent, not great. SD just doesn't get enough of a push to sell well. And it IS a rly old looking show. If they;d just continue releasing the manga. if only Raijin hadn't made bad business dicisions and..okay to much ranting..

And for the record I think they're saying zoro is shy because he runs away from Tashigi..

That was obviously just some rabid fan's dream. Even if they did get sued, the case would probably be dismissed from court, and even barring that, there's no way one lawsuit from some no-name otaku is going to topple the entire company.
