Wow, respect for your work but I think I have to inform you about scanslating the early volumes.
Back when I wanted to scanslate the early chapters with Rush weĀ“ve been told that it is a bad idea to do so because the official manga publishers are very aware of the scanslators community and tolerate it only so far unless they donĀ“t work on chapters that havenĀ“t been licensed so far.
For instance Viz wouldnĀ“t make a move against somebody who scanslates chapters from Enies Lobby because they themselves are far behind. However if somebody NOW decides to redo the early chapters then they would move against that.
IĀ“m not bullshitting you, IĀ“ve had talkbacks with many people about many reliable people about that at MangaHelpers and you can even ask oceanizer about that. This is what ultimately break the neck for RushĀ“s One Piece releases because we all along planned to release the early chapters using the Log chapters as raws so that we can get colored versions of the early color spreads. We didnĀ“t do it because none of us would have liked to have legal problems with a publisher. And if thereĀ“s spanish official releases of One Piece (which would mean at least the first volume is out) then I rather suggest to you for your own interest to rethink working on those chapters.
IĀ“m not trying to influence your work. IĀ“m very grateful for your releases but I just wanted to inform you about a little matter that you might not be familiar with. Hope you understand.

Oh well. That is always the problem. Many fansubs would be forbidden if we see the legal aspect (like dattebayo)! But they do it. They do it for us fans. The internet is full of illegal things ^^ In the anime/manga scene the license is the biggest problem. If the fansubgroup would stop just because of the license, we won't get the episodesā¦ ;P You can't be always legal ;P

There are, by Planeta. They have translated volumes 1-38 in no time (they started recently) so I guess the manga is selling really well. And Planeta is nothing like Viz, it's the 7th biggest editorial in the world, with a yearly revenue of 2 billions, much bigger than Viz so it could be worse in your case. Anyway, looks like you dont care so good job, I will check them out later.

A fansub is not comparable to a scanslation because a sub leaves the original voices and just puts text while a dub erases all the original vocals.
A scanslation however is in many cases exactly like the official translation from a publisher. And yes, companies made moves against other scanslation teams thatĀ“s why they stopped publishing early chapters.
IĀ“m not telling Piratas what to do, IĀ“m just giving them some info on something they maybe didnĀ“t know anything about yet. If Planeta is really that much bigger then Viz then they probably know even more about the scanslation community then Viz and will therefore probably know how to deal with someone who works on a project that is already out by them.
I just wanted to let everyone know. I think that people involved with this should at least know with what they have to deal.
