My favorite is Tokyopop. They don't have as many good series as Viz, but they do a much better job with the ones they have. Second is ADV, but they don't really have anything good besides Chrono Crusade.

its not my favorite but you forgot clamp
-
Clamp isn't a company.
I'd say…..Viz. Just because of titles like these:
Rurouni Kenshin - great translation, monthly, sidenotes, good price
Vagabond - speedy, color pages, high qualityI need Dr. Slump and Hunter X Hunter…..
-
I like Tokyopop and Viz about equally. Viz has great series, and Tokyopop has Lupin III and Sgt. Frog.
Oh, and you forgot Dark Horse.
-
Of those 3, I'd go with Viz, easily. They do a great job for the most part, and though a few of their series don't turn out so hot, they do a consistently better job than Tokyopop in terms of translation and editing work. ADV doesn't do a horrible job on what I've seen, but they're so slow and they license so much crap (quantity over quality…the ADV way!) that they just don't deserve the top spot.
Honestly, though, I'd go with Dark Horse overall as their Studio Proteus division does a really excellent, though they're bogged down by flopping and slow release schedules, and with Digital Manga they did a great job on Berserk and Helsing, though the translation of Trigun/Trigun Maximum is HORRID.
-
Gotta go with Viz and Dark Horse… they do a good job with my favourite titles.
-
Gotta go with VIZ
-
Tokyopop's pretty good… and even though they haven't done a lot of manga, Del Ray did a good job translating Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and XXXholic :) They include nicely printed colour pages, and a lot of interesting notes at the back.
-
they all aren't as good as the originals but I'd have to say Tokyopop because they do the best work on Quality AND Quanity.
-
Tokyopop, a little too much quantity over quality.
Viz, Terrible, they've lost all my respect with the recent edit flood. I havn't bought 18 volumes of DBZ for you to start editting assloads and pussying up the language with "DARN YOU CELL!"s and don't get started on Hercule.
So I'll go with Dark Horse.
-
I picked up FMA volume 1 today, so I gotta go with Viz.

your poll is a bit restricted to US residents.
in france, a company called mangakana does a pretty good job on mangas. there are also tonkam or pika that work really well.
but glenat often mirrors the mangas to make it easier to read for europeans, it sucks. but it looks that they won't do it anymore.
