! I wanted one of zeons minions to be beaten by them too but I suppose it was asking for too much. These are after all the people Zeon chose to be his bodyguards and they got powerups by him. If it was any other time they may have taken them down or even if Momon had gotten his new spells earlier,but whatever. Even now that Gash's spells are at the max power they can be Zeon hasn't seemed that worried so maybe this is all part of some big plan of his, he did keep most of Gash's group alive even though he could have burned their books and he kept Gash alive until now despite knowing what a threat he could eventually pose. Maybe something like to use the true power of Baou you need two of them and he's going to use Gash's group to make him help summon the true power.
(maybe Brago knows this and is waiting to help when the time comes that he is needed.)

! Well, if they did encounter with Jedun and Rodeaux before he gave the two of them huge power-ups, they might have had a ahcance to take them down and Momon could have as well..Even if they did do iit though, they still would had to deal with Zeon himself. Hmmm…Yeah, I do agree with most part. Zeon could have had the chance to burn everyone elses books but instead just mounting them into the pillars in the Faudo control room. I noticed as well that Zeon seems calm at the situation, and even at Gash's current max spells. But I do agree he is trying to use Gash's power as an advantage to use the true power of the Baou. But if Gash's true power does get summoned, who knows what damage can be caused to everyone else including himself? If Zeon isn't so nervous about his strong new spells, its possible he is using all his friends, as a pawn to unlock this rather powerful true potential of the Baou..

You might be right. I dont think I've even heard mamono in another anime/manga series. But one thing I ask is, "What is the true and accurate translation of mamono?" Its probably they translated it into demon just after hearing the Makai being mentioned in the anime. Or maybe Raiku named them like that probably they do seem like a unique group of people from the Makai than any other anime/manga I seen involving the Makai such as Disgaea..But I dont know for sure but..Maybe he's trying to seperate Mamono from Akuma since to me, those two groups are very different..

I think mamono is usually translated as devil instead of demon. Such as mamono hunter yohko is devil hunter yokho in english. It doesn't generally matter if you use one or the other so you shouldn't really care much about it.

! Seems Gash VS Zeon has began for real but other than that in 256, Kiyomaro was just hillarious wearing him down with his super Faudo-powered demon face ^_^. I just loved that freaked out comic-relief look in Rodeaux when Kiyomaro finally got the best of him with his all strong beast mode XD. So, while Gash and Zeon battle it out, mamono outside of Faudo such as Brago may jump in the fray which I doubt a bit or stall Faudo from going into Japan with his gravity like spells.
Now, for the summary of Ch 256. Translations are to come soon from the LJ Konjiki community. (Not done by me XD)

! And you wonder why Zeon's afraid of Kiyomaro?
! So, Rodeaux was fried half to death and we're all ready to see Gash and Zeon finally have a showdown after over 250 chapters, right?
Nope!
! Although hurt, Rodeaux manages to get himself out of the huge blast of lightning pummeling him and does what appears to be either a super fast flight pattern, or some sort of illusion thing to make multiple images of himself.
Everybody's all "OH MY GOD!", but Kiyomaro just gives Gash an order, while Chita's gotten off her pillar and inner monologues a bit.
! Then Kiyomaro starts inner monologuing right after her. He thinks about how Rodeaux's been attacking and how he's moving, then Rodeaux strikes. But he gets a little surprise as he sees them not dodging, but Kiyomaro's pointing his finger right in to the center of it. Gash's mouth opens, light begins to come out and… It's the 11th spell!
! Due to a series of unfortunate events involving me closing an AIM window by accident, I don't actually know the name of the spell, but it's related to Jikerudo and fires a very large ball of energy that moves slowly forwards.
It hits Rodeaux's spell, but doesn't crash in to it. Instead, it keeps going and pushes Rodeaux's spell right out of the way, causing it to completely miss Kiyomaro. (this is helpfully explained by an inner monologuing Dufaux)
! Rodeaux takes a bit too long in trying to fly away and as he turns around, the spell catches his wing and he's suddenly sucked in to the ball, which stops moving.
Rodeaux tries to break out, but the ball fills with electricity before he can, giving him a nasty shock.
! So what does Rodeaux do? Well, it's been established by now that he's kind of an idiot and likes to piss people off, so he starts insulting Kanchome, Tio and Umagon. With each insult, Kiyomaro's demon face begins to surface a little. Rodeaux begins laughing maniacally and...
! SUPER DEMON FACE!
! Rodeaux's shut up quite nicely. The ball he was in dissapears, Kiyomaro prepares his book and...
! SUPER DEMON FACE 2!
! Kiyomaro Zakerus the hell out of Rodeaux, occasionally mixing a Zakeruga or Teozakeru in here and there, but either way doing a ton of a lot of damage.
Rodeaux is left on the ground, looking rather pissed off and wondering what the hell happened. Rodeaux looks up, and Kiyomaro's demon face isn't gone yet. He stares at him with a fearful expression, then suddenly realizes what's coming and panics as he's hit by...
! SUPER DEMON FACE 3! (Now with 200% more phallic imagery)
! Same thing as before, Rodeaux gets blasted repeatedly by various lightning spells. Now he can barely move, just lying on the ground twitching a little.
Out of the corner of his eye, he notices some movement and he looks up to see Kiyomaro, still demonified and guzzling down Faudo Juice to attack again.
Rodeaux just sorta seems to give and and stares at Kiyomaro with a beaten look, and then after a bit of inner monologuing from Chita...
! SUPER DEMON FACE 4! ASURA VERSION!
! Kiyomaro attacks with Zakeru and Zakeruga in turn repeatedly, until Rodeaux looks like he's practically begging for him to stop. He does stop after a bit, ending things with Teozakeru and leaving Rodeaux on the ground, completely fried and apparently unconcious.
Kiyomaro doesn't bother with the book, he just turns over to Zeon and gets ready to confront him...
But that's for next chapter!

onigumo I have posted the link to getting the raw chapters twice now, even one on the same page. It is under shonen sunday and says Gash. The newest one just came out so go get it.

Daisuke CP9, I suppose I would consider myself a Kiyomaro X Megumi fan since I would probably be super pissed off if he ended up with anyone else. It just seems way too obvious who he should end up with.

! I think out of the people left Brago should be the one to be king. Gash and his friends deem too childish to run a kingdom. Brago isn't evil so he would probably help and he's the most mature one left. I just can't picture Gash being on the throne commanding people. So who else thinks that after everything else is over they'll let Brago become ruler, especially since none of them really care who becomes king as long as it's they are kind.

I do have a few who I want to become the Makai King besides Gash such as Brago and WonRei but a pity he(WonRei) had his book crisped in the hands of Unko Tin Tin. But as much as I love Gashu as a Makai King, Brago is a good candidate as well XP.

Bari had a strong intention for becoming king. It would be interesting to see Brago become king. Then we can't count out the possible remaining mamono left in the whole tournament…

! I have to agree most of the remaining mamono in the tournament are rather childish, but hey. Why do you think 100 mamono children are to be sent down to the Ningenkai XD? And I do agree Bari really had strong ambitions to be a king but all that went down after he sacrificed himself for everyone else after he burned down Keith's book. Also, I do honestly hope no more mamono get sent back to the Makai even in the climax in this arc. All that can hapen next arc or the final battles of the remaining on the Ningenkai. I mean come on, WonRei's gone, Ted's gone, Bari's gone, Momon's gone to the dust, what more Raiku XD?! Heck, back in the LJ community, there were many rants when Ted and WonRei were sent back to the Makai.

! I was mad when many of those cooler mamono such as wonrei got sent back too. At least wonrei got to go out in a very dramatic way and not just sort of leave like bali did. I still don't understand the reason bali left anyway, he may have been hurt from helping gash get through that trap but why did they burn his book exactly?
! If Gash and his group are the children I wonder how the adults would react if the ancient rule that decides their king gets destroyed by one of them. I mean sure by winning this fight you prove you're the strongest but that's only for those that entered the fight, maybe the former king that stone golem or whoever gets mad and they end up having to fight the stronger mamono. This would also allow them to reintroduce the others who were sent back already. But who really knows what could happen next, it will probably end after this arc but you can never be too sure.

! I dont get so much why Gustav burned Bari's book as well. That mamono is as tough as nails and he could have handled all that if he can survive being rampaged by a Dragon mamono. In my opinion, I think the true reason Gustav burned his book was because maybe he thought about Bari himself rather than his ambitions to be king. As he did tell him before he was gone, "You've grown." Maybe the real reason why Gustav worked so hard with him was because he wanted him to grow into a better person he expected his own mamono to be. And I guess the whole sacrifice really showed Gustav his mission was over.
! Also, I need fanfic crossover advice. I am making one of Negima(manga) and Gash Bell considering both are supernatural series. There are 'demons' in Negima as well and I need to somewhat seperate the mamono demons of Gash Bell and the True Demons of Negima the mages always fight. Is it best that for the Gash side, I just use the term mamono and for the Negima side, I use Akuma so things really dont get so mixed up since demons in the other series dont require spell books and are just summoned by mages. Any ideas for classifying both groups?

! Well its not like the battle was going to be over so quickly since it finally started. But Zeon with an electric sword…dang that's cool...in a very evil but cool sort of way.

Finally got a chance to look at the chapter (outside the scans) and…well, I've got one word to say (outside what I wrote on the Konjiki LJ):

! NEPOTISM!!!!!!! This whole tournament is dang nepotism!!!! Well OK, maybe it isn't and more needs to be revealed, but…with twin brothers who hate each other with similar lightning attacks are sent down to take out the other 98....well whomever isn't taken out in the regular tourney, something has to be up! Sure I like Gash as a character, but I think I may start rooting against him to maybe balk his "destined to win" even if Zeon goes down...

! Already mentioned this on the Konjiki board, but while the battle was cool, the only really great scene was where Gash Teozakerus Zeon while he keeps flinging around the sword. (though I wish there was some way to get rid of "the cloak of death" :p And the end…I just hope this isn't some Sharingan ripoff for the humans...but at least the eyes look more like Kurenai's :p

In other news, I am sort of happy we're past the Victoreme arc in the dub. I guess I loved it so much in the manga that the animated version didn't impress me as much (probably due to Victoreme's dub voice being so…over the top. (sure the original was too, but it just fits much deeper.)
