He looked similar to Kurama too.(Kurama is my favourite too). ;)
Favorite character? Quoll Lucifer and the rest of the Ryodan. What can I say, I'm a villain fanatic.
Who thought Bisuke's true form was shocking?. :)
Not too shocking. It was pretty friggin goofy, actually. As for my favorite character, Kurapica followed by Hisoka. I like Killua and Gon as well.
I like it how Kurapica uses his girlish looks to his advantage, like when kidnapping Kuroro. But yeah, some of the scenes in the anime take it too far.
He's smart and looks effeminate but is personality couldn't be more masculine.
I must be the only person in here who thinks Kurapica doesn't look a bit girlsih
though i love One Piece, Hunter X Hunter easily comes second.
what can i say, It has a great story, great character development, good music and Kurapica & Kilhua, nuff said
My favorite Arc was where Kurapica took his revenge, and my favourite characters are Kilhua And Kurapica, especially Kilhua, he's so cool, even more now with his thunder attacks!!
does anyone have a site or something that has a summary of the events from the end of greed island to now cause i cant read it with its horrible artwork. Seriously, in what other line of work would you be allowed to hand in half assed stuff like that and keep your job?
Well, Togashi is able to keep his job because he does this series alone, with NO assistants touching up his work, and the art has gotten MUCH better as of lately. So, here's my advice: endure the so-called "Bad" art for a little bit, read the actual words to get the story, and when the art picks up, you will have no reason to complain, AND you won't need a half-assed summary that really will tell you nothing.
I agree with that "endure it." I actually didn't give the manga a chance when I first saw it because of its art. I've been watching the anime latey and liking it, so I decided to get the first volume. The art could probably be considered bad, but really, I don't mind it anymore.

Your won't be disappointed, It's a real masterpiece.
The manga art really turned me off in the beginning as well, but so many people said it was awesome so I figured it was worth it to keep reading. They were right, so keep at it :)
If there is a reason you MUST go on with Hunter x Hunter other than the good story, look no further than the super cool Killua.
With his lighting attacks, he can put all those wannabes to shame.
Kurapica is just as cool, and his revenge against the spider arc was a blast.
i did go on with the story. I stayed until Greed Island but his art got so much worse. He should get himself some assistants cause whatever his excuse is, it does not make up for the fact that he makes sub par artwork. I just dont understand why he had these same pressures before and his artwork was good but now his stuff is horrible. I heard that the graphic novels have touched up artwork so it may be a ploy to boost the sales of the graphic novels
When was it all about the artwork? yeah it move's the story in better detail but it doesn't make the story…I have read manga's with superb artwork that fully lack in story
i wouldnt mind it if it was always that way, but it has clearly deteriorated for an unexplained reason.
Something I heard recently… wasn't he ill for some time and still doing the manga during that?
The artwork has improved greatly lately, so something like that could be an explanation.

No, see, that's the thing. It's ALWAYS been like that. You just THINK it's deteriorated because you like read the books (or scans of the books) for quite a while, and then, upon catching up, started reading the Jump chapters. Since the art has been retouched for book releases since the beginning, you don't notice the difference until you get past those releases.
really? i just have read the scans that i found on ckmoney. I just thought it was always like that
the art has improved after teh ryodan vs ant battles, when it went back to gon and killua again, its gotten better, yes, although compared to the art in the ryodan arc this one doesnt come close, but at least the art can be er…understood or soemthing...
at any rate, the story is awesome, best thing i ever read...
the shonen jump artwork sucks but the volume artwork is good. but i don't like how the things are going on. i think togashi starts to be out of ideas and is going to make it end quickly after the shitty ants arc. as he did with HHY.
because the currently storyline is nothing compared to the genei ryodan arc or greed island. it's just a matter of fighting power against stupid foes (the darts man in 239 for exemple)
i hope i'm wrong and togashi will put something really enjoyable in the following chapters.
Right now what togashi is doing is showing how evolved the charecters have become. Like gon's fight with the owlbear and the bat. How would gon react to a two foe's at once.1 that use's sound wave's to disrupt concentration allowing the other to attack. We learn that gon has improved on tactics than hitting the situation head on like he use to do.Now for killua's case for the siblings and there power of the dart board witch I for one thinks kicks ass. We all know that killua is a tactics master not as much as kurapica is but he's still good. What togashi is trying to show is that how will killua react to an enemy that he cannot see or touch. These kind of things that make HXH enjoyable.
Alrighty, I've finished the G.I. OVA of hxh and I must say I love the series now ^^ Read up to chapter 216.
Anyway, I just wanna ask, is Kaito dead for good? I was starting to like him and I am quite fond of his ability when I saw his head lying there. XD

he's not dead for sure. but he sure is in a bad shape. gon is looking for a way to make him return to the old kaito. let's hope he can do it.

Nefasasdasfasgfahgasj (erm, the cat-like Royal Guard that you're asking about) has a mind control power of some sort, along with being super fast/powerful like all higher-up ants (her in particular, though). We still don't really know that much about her.
I use to know her name but I completely forgot since it's way to damn long for a fecking name.
Busts out the Hunters' Guide
According to the katakana, it's Neferupitou. Given that this is Togashi, however, the actual way it's pronounced according to the katakana doesn't necessarily reflect what her name is SUPPOSED to be. See, for example "Kuroro Rushirufuru" becoming "Quoll Lucifer".
Also, that's not catgirl…that's a cat MAN, man.
I've said it before regarding HxH characters, and I'll say it again.
THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT IS A GUY!

Goddamn Togashi! Genders don't even mean anything in HxH, apparently.

Good old Togashi, and his inspiring of sexual confusion in young men!
I'm so jealous, why is it, that everyone is always one step ahead of me?. I'm still struggling to finish OP here. :P
hahahahahahaha, then how did that cat-woman (I'll assume that she is a "she") resurrect Kaito? Wierd eh?
Anyway, from one of the covers, I read that it is possible to deduce that Kurapica is a male. I hope to see him and Leorio back in action soon ^^
Nef's power isn't really "mind control", per se. What he does is to create a giant programmable "puppetmaster" that can be programmed to carry out orders. He reassembled Kaito's body, and put it under the control of his ability.
yikes. Now I really wonder, how Kaito will get back to normal. I don't see any sense in introducing such a major character and have him die so soon. (I am still holding to the hope that he can be restored)
Perhaps the King has a special nen that can do that? shrugs (other than absorbing the auras of those he eats)
Well, since nen often becomes stronger when the user dies, I'm thinking that likely if they kill Nef, the result of his power will cause Kaito to be "permanetly" be rebuilt, but since he won't be around to control the puppet master, Kaito will be live normally, so to speak. Or something. Maybe he'll just fall apart and we'll have a good long cry, but that'd suck.
i just read chap 240
hey, togashi, it's ok, we understood that killua was super strong so why not stopping these meaningless battles and come into the action again!
i hope next chap will kick ass but i know i'm just dreaming…
I just recently read Hunter X Hunter.. for the first time. :o
I read the English one since there is only one. It's really cool
Gon and Lorio are just about my faves.
Don't think im a noobie to this Hunter stuff now B)

Everybody's got to be a "noobie" at some point, so don't worry about it! Just enjoy the hell out of the series, since that's what it's there for, and you'll be OK in my book!
I just loved how killua took care of those sibling pure pwnage
I wonder if they'll have a new TV series/OAV after the Ant/Chimera arc is done?
they'll probably do lotsa editing considering the arc is pretty violent so far (the black boxes when heads/limbs get chopped off)

i hope they'll do it. but the editing won't be that bad, because the first arcs were kinda violent too, and i didn't see any choking editin.
i think the anime will make me enjoy 10 times more the chimera ant (which bothers me right now)
indeed. I have seen G.I. final and I must say the animation is far better than the first. I do hope that they will start another series after this arc ends…
Anyway. has the artist said anything about the length of the series?

not at all but i hope he won't mess it up as he did with yu yu hakusho, i mean a shitty end, just because he's tired of the shonen jump rythm (which seems to be he's biggest problem).

Togashi said in the very first book that he wanted the series to run for at least 20 book. He's no actually a ways past that mark, but the hope is that he won't give up or anything. I could honestly imagine him trying to wrap things up very quickly after the current arc, though that would be somewhat disappointing.
theres still the whole nen removal issue for Kuroro, so I think we still have a ways to go.
at first I didn't really like the Ant/Chimera arc, but now it's starting to get interesting for me.
And there's the Nen ability of Leorio, Kilula's sister aim in joining the Ryodan (about finding his brother to get back her full family or something) and so on. And also, to find Gon's dad. So I don't think the story will end very soono, probably as long as OP is gonna get.

ALSO a guy.
Though yeah, there is quite a bit to go in terms of content. All we can hope is that these things get the spotlight they deserve.
