Bleach already took that spot.
Death Note….maybe another Paranoia Agent.

No am pretty sure Death Note is going to be the new inuyasha while bleach closely behind.
Paranoia Agent was ok.
They should put up Captain and the kids.

Paranoia Agent is too good to be popular, while Death Note is bad enough to be the next sensation with the 13 year olds that make up the Adult Swim audience.

blood+ taught me that all of the world's wars and tragedies were orchestrated by a covert organization of vampire jews
edit: seriously how can you not laugh at things like this:
Yeah I have to agree… It's hard not to laugh at Blood Plus... It's always been B movie quality. Like something they could show on Mystery Science Theater 3000 every week.
October 20, let's see
get drunk way out in the woods around a giant campfire with about 15 of my closest friends
stay inside and watch death note
that's a tough one not
high five
Meh, popularity is a hard thing to judge. They thought Bleach was the next big thing and yet it hasn't been renewed as of yet. And WS/AS isn't really promoting Death Note outside "we got this series so we're going to air it"…compare that to their own shows and the crap they get from the networks. (not counting Futurama, that's still classy though I got all the DVDs) Combine this with recent events on the daytime segment of CN and you sort of think they don't care anymore about action or anime cause it doesn't give them money.
I will propably watch few episodes, just to see what some scenes are like in the dub.
I like the anime, but manga is so much better, and I don't usually watch dubs, so I will not be rewatching the series in english.
On a sidenote, I hate Blood+. It was promising at first, but it failed on pretty much anything.
5 more days! Woo Hoo!

Have you been to the AS board? Sometimes there is so much Bleach threads its crazy. Even the weekly episodes discussions gets several pages.
I know that hardly proves anything, but the only other anime that did that was Inuyasha.
I doubt any 13 year olds will watch Death Note. 13 year olds watch Bleach. Death Note would either bore them or not interest them.
I always thought Death Note was popular because Naruto fans would read it and deem it God's gift to manga and the best thing they will ever read in their lives.
Yet their favorite character is Misa. >_>
I mean the most common answer to why people like it I find to be "Because they don't fight with their fists…...THEY FIGHT WITH THEIR MINDS!"

Thankfully I have never come across such idiots.

Theres tons of people who go around saying "DEATH NOT IS A HIGHLY INTELLECTUAL, UNPREDICTABLE, PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILL RIDE!!!"
Everything those people say is usually hilarious.

They are based off the children of a famous German Jew Banker.
I really need to watch this show now.

You know it. Death Note is the new Beowulf.

! Kill off L
I think the person who wrote it either wanted to piss off people or decided to lenghten it for no reason.

What is this "Friends" you speak of, young lady?
Oh wow.

lol yeah, the Rothschilds.
But this is the part I was trying to highlight:
Martin Bormann
Age: Unknown (apparent age: 45)
Nationality: German
Occupation: Head of the Party Chancellery
The third Goldsmith Brother, Martin Bormann appeared briefly in an old photograph from 1943 in Episode 12 and in the Blood+ manga. In real life, Bormann served as head of the Nazi Party Chancellary and as Adolf Hitler's private secretary. He is regarded as one of the elites in the Third Reich. He is presumed to have been killed sometime between late April and early May 1945 during the apocalyptic Battle of Berlin. It is said that as he tried to break through the encircled city, he was shot and killed by soldiers of the Red Army. In this fictional account, he was killed by Solomon (Episode 12 and Episode 37 Solomon's conversation) in Germany under Amshel's order around the same time of his presumed historical death. Why he became a chevalier is never revealed.
And RASPUTIN WAS A VAMPIRE TOO

I cannot comprehend the reason to make a really good manga suck at the end for a few bucks. The series has to end anyway, might as well end it the GOOD way.

We're not talking about the ending in specific here, we're talking about the addition of a whole second half.
It ended exactly how it should have ended.
I think it's funny how people complain about the ending. It's like all their deep, seething hatred for Near made them love Kira unconditionally.
I thought the ending was perfect, it was the six volumes of even more aggravatingly over done drama that ruined it.
! Light groveling at the knees of Ryuk as Ryuk laughed before killing him off was great. Him and Light's dad were the best characters in the series I thought.
You mean there are Death Note fans that don't think that? That's news to me.
I'm somewhat of a fan
Although the series would have been much better had it ended after the death of L.

Meh, I would have preferred evil triumphing over good.

Thats what I meant. The entire second half.
I honestly found no point in Near and Mello.
Although I wonder how the end would have turned out if Near and Mello were not to exist.
Since everyone's openly spoiling the big plot twist, I'll spoil too…
I actually thought killing off L was a great idea on Ohba's part. It's the last thing everyone would expect, and it perfectly with the balls-to-the-wall "anything can happen feel" that the story had at that point. Plus, it's just too tempting to make the bad guy win in this situation and see what he does with his victory.
I DID have problems with the second half of the manga(yea, Near included), but I don't think it ever jumped the shark and went for too long. It certainly could have been done better, but at least the ending lived up to the hype. And I still killing L was worth it.
@Natty:

I loved the idea of an organization training a replacement for L. It made perfect sense to me. The problem's that Near and Mello sucked. If L had been replaced with a good character, everything would've been, imo.

The final volumes been out for months, it's not a spoiler.

Yea, I had no problem with L.'s death, it just should have ended there.
Near and Mello were lame as fuck, if Light was gunna die, the real L. should have been the one to bring him down. Not some transvestite addicted to chocolate and a kid who wears pajamas and plays with legos all day. And then theres nothingness…...
Though having not seen it, I heard the movie ending was more interesting: L still died (albeit on his own terms), but still was able to catch Light and Ryuk getting his side of the bargain. Somehow from what I hear of Near and Mello, it just seemed tidy and neater.
Meh, I would have preferred evil triumphing over good.
This wasn't a battle between good and evil. It was a battle between two childish psychopaths.

L was a psychopath?

No, Light was evil, and no matter what his reasoning was, Near opposed him, thus making him the good guy. Not all good guys have to be "I MUST PROTECT EVERYONE!!!!!"

The movie had a much better ending.
Yes he was. He himself stated that he was very much like Kira.
I think that was just in terms of stubbornness and enjoying the game they were playing. L was pretty harsh when dealing with Misa, but it seems pretty silly to me to equal him to a manipulative, psychotic mass-murderer with a god complex.

This is true, the movie ending was the one I would like to have seen for the manga/anime.
Another thing that pisses me off about Death Note is Misa. No woman is that dedicated to man. Hell, I would kill myself before I did that for another man. Misa, in my opinion, was a scapegoat character.
The manga ending is awesome
I love all of the butthurt teenagers that whine about it
@Natty:

She was a crazy. Just like Kira.
Her character made the game much more interesting, IMO. She was essentially another member of the Cult of Kira.

The only funny thing about the manga ending is Light's swimming lesson…that and comparing it to the anime ending where they screw stuff up.
@Cap'n:
And RASPUTIN WAS A VAMPIRE TOO
Honestly, that sounds way more believable than the rest of the plot summaries I read.
Oh yeah, Death Note. Light begging to Ryuk was the best part of the entire series, and almost redeemed the second half.

People can be obsessive. Misa happens to be a very extreme case.

He was a highly impulsive man who would do almost anything to catch a criminal, all in the name of 'justice'.
The opposite side to Kira, but still on the same coin.
I like how so many people refuse to believe that the entire series was just setting up Light's fall
I mean it was pretty obvious from the beginning
@Cap'n:

First we had Ryuk telling Light what happens when he would die, then we have Ryuk openly telling Light that he'll be the one to kill him one day.
I mean, honestly, people.
Whenever one makes a deal with the devil, particularly in fiction, they will most likely get their due. Doesn't mean we can't follow them until the end.
I think it's cool how L actually helped develop Light's potential as a criminal mastermind. In the beginning, he made a lot of stupid mistakes, caught more than one lucky break, and you see him having to improvise all the time. It's like L's constant pressuring brought about his own death.
