@Freeman-12:
errr No (Vol. 1 was better IMHO)
I think it's just as good. Highlights being the Hulk issue, the Cyclops issue, the special, and the UFO two parter.
The Cap and MI 13 series will actually be ongoing.

My copy of the 20th anniversary editon of Sam and Max - Surfin' the Highway came in the mail yesterday. It has the power to rekindle your love with the series if your a fan. And I was really sad when I reached the end. ;_;
Sam and Max are the definition of great humorous comic books in my opinion. A lot better than the humor works of…......... what's his face? You know, the guy who worked on The Defenders and always had them going out on bowling night? I never found his work funny.
If I had to pick one favorite moment from all the Sam and Max stories..... I'd die. It's impossible. Utterly impossible for anyone to choose.
^IIRC the cartoon series from the 90s has also been released to DVD.
BTW I've been wanting to post up some scans but I keep forgetting XD.
Buccaneer, which issue is the Cyclops one in First Class?
If anyone's read Empowered, is it any good?
X-Force #3 is out BTW. Anyone else think that the Cyclops in this one is a Skrull?
I dunno, the only X-Force I ever gave a damn about starred Mr Sensitive. But I'm sure the one in Young X-Men is a Skrull. I really, really hope so.
The Cyclops issue of First Class was very recent, I think it was 11 or 12.
Arnt The Flash comics still going? Thats what i used to read
Is Superman/Batman any good? I'm thinking about getting into the series.
I'm also searching for a 2003 mini-series called The Thing: Night Falls on Yancy Street since it's supposidly character-driven. I like stories that are character-driven.
^Check yo PM
@Buc- This current X-Force is pretty good, they face the Purifiers in it and…
! Bastion and Archangel are in the series aswell).
BTW there are only 4 members in this X-Force.
! New Avengers 40 is stated to show events that took place after Avengers Illuminati #1 BTW.
Atomic Robo rocks
Downloaded all of The Thing mini-series. I had problems downloading a certain issue, then resolved it, then discovered the link to download the fourth issue downloaded a short movie instead, but someone on another forum found the last issue for me. I will read it tomorrow.
I'm rereading all of Mighty Avengers, just to brush up on the current events of Secret Invasion.
Ares is what made the series for me :)
Ares is sort of meh to me. But, as stated before, I'm in it for Sentry.
Anyone ever read New Avengers #24, which stars Sentry? God, I share that same crazy thinking pattern of his.
Does anyone know where I can download issues 4 5 & 6 of Street Fighter II?
I picked up Secret Invasion #1 today. Pretty good. What I want to know, above all else, is:
! What did the Hank Pym skrull use to shoot Reed Richards? It's gotta be something specifically made for Reed in order to leave him in a mess like that.
@AWB:

Are you basically saying you're as nuts as The Sentry? o_o

It's just a laser. Reed will eventually pull himself together.

I think you've known the answer for a few years now.

Check your PM.
N. Avengers 40 and X-Men Legacy 210 are out, suckas!
BTW been reading Empowered pretty fun, not anything hilarious but it is fun.
N. Avengers 40 was freaking awesome and so was X-Men 210.
I also finished reading both Volumes of Empowered. This is about the only book where manga-esque art fits for superhero themed comics XD.
Spent most of today rereading New Avengers and Mighty Avengers. I'm looking for any clues for the Secret Invasion.
Also, since all my friends are doing movie casting lists for fun, I present my cast list for the New Thunderbolts.
Songbird=Natalie Portman
Moonstone=Alicia Silverstone
Norman Osborn=Tommy Lee Jones
Radioactive Man=Vin Diesel
Swordsman=Gerald Butler
Bullseye=Cillian Murphy
Venom=Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson or Ben Affleck
Penance=Shia LaBeouf
Anyone know what comics are gonna be given away at Free Comic Book Day?
and Freeman can ya PM the Street Fighter Comic site to download them D:

I still got the links I'll send them to your PM.
OK whether or not you are a Thor fan- READ THOR: AGES OF THUNDER!
That book was kickass, Thor does only 2 things: Sleep with women and kick Giants asses.
Sounds like a borefest.

I know I want for Christmas this year.
I'd have bought Ages of Thunder if it wasn't Thor, and I'd have seen Iron Man if I wasn't an idiot.

Don't forget Leslie Nielsen as Samson and Lou Diamond Phillips as American Eagle.
Thought I was forgetting someone.
Anyway, finally got around to downloading a torrent for Spider-Man: Blue. Will read it tomorrow.

Sounds like a borefest.
IS FUCKING NOT, this book is one of the best yet, just read it man, trust me I know a good series when I read one ;)
Oh and Marvel Presents for this month has Aaron/MachineMan.
…and Buccaneer I do not understand your sarcasm :(
EDIT: Oh and a War Machine TPB will be released this May-

Sorry, I'll pass. I don't want to spend my leisure time reading stories that revolve around simply fighting and making the characters appear "badass" and dull. I prefer my comics to have a little more sophistication.
Also, I agree with Bucc (to the point that I THINK he's making). Thor hasn't had an awful lot of good comics recently. Maybe if Warren Ellis does something with Thor, I'll read it.

You force my hand, mortal-
!
Tsk, tsk. Thinking a fight scene will sell it for me. You should know me better than that.
Zircher makes Thor looks like he has a bad case of diarreha throughout the whole page. :P
And put that bloody thing in a spoiler tag already. It's stretching out the page.
Well, any news on the Sentry getting another mini-series some time in the future? I'm always up for a tale starring a mentally unstable super force. Now that's what I'd call excitement.
w00t I got like 7 Free Comics today at my Comic Shop :D
I got's :
Marvel Adeventures : IronMan&HULK&SpiderMan
Tiny Titans
Sonic The Hedgehog Issue 1 Reprint with new Cover.
An X-Men Comic
and some more.
Tiny Titans? Some kind of Teen Titans spin-off or mini I'm assuming? Sorry, I don't keep good track on DC.
Anyway, I thought I'd create a list of my favorite comic characters and why I like them. Do as I do if you wish.
CAPTAIN AMERICA
As Bucc said long ago, he isn't a super powered American who will smash any Canadian's head in while screaming "For America!" (heh, that made me laugh). He fights for the freedom of everyone on the big blue planet. He's a deep character with a rich history that can be expanded on. That's one thing I love, a history that can be expanded on. Captain America has been expanded on moreso than any other Marvel character imo (see Truth: Red, White & Black). I also love the character because I am a patriot of my country, so I love that he fights for the freedom I cheerish so much. Oh, and the shield. He's modelded it into a very unique weapon. Plus, Cap has had a hugh inspiration on the story I'm writing.
HOWARD THE DUCK
A cynical talking animal who often ends up in adventures that parody modern culture and pop culture. What's not to love? Plus, he isn't some overpowered musclehead, it's always been about the character and story. He looks at some of today's culturally significant issues and gets pissed off, just as I do. I identify with him on a lot of issues. Sadly, he doesn't have much room to grow or much history to expand on. Hell, the onlygrowth he's done in more than 30 years is giving up smoking. But he's still a unique character and I love him for that.
JOKER
Okay, I said I'm not a DC buff, but I will admit I'm a Joker fanatic. Who else do you know that will kill without reason and makes it seem so planned? He's had a rich history with many different versions to the story. So much so that he said "If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice". Also, he's a real fun character to work on it seems, as I always enjoy a good Joker story, such as The Killing Joke. That and there is Heath Ledger's upcoming performance as the man. It's going to be one of those things that makes me love the character more, I can tell. No one makes insanity fun quite like the Joker.
THE SENTRY
I love a character who's mentally and emotionally unstable. A super-powered basket case. Not only does the Sentry do that, but I identify with him. As crazy (and scary) as it sounds, I think I am Bob Reynolds. It's not secret I'm not part of the norm, and I do feel like I have a "the void" in my life. The way I see Sentry is that he's Marvel attempt to create a Superman who was interesting. Think of him as a mesh between Joker and Superman. He's the only reason I read Mighty Avengers. And he even manages to entertain me as Bob Reynolds.
HAWKEYE
There are only TWO reasons why I like Hawkeye. I'm a fan of archery and he's like a mini-Captain America.
MAX (Sam & Max)
A hyper-kinetic rabbity thing. Max I adore purely because of his comedic value. Yeah, you should be noticing a pattern here. I love psychopaths. From jokes about where on his naked fury body does he keep his gun to his witty one-liners (witty one-liners being a staple of Sam & Max). That and I never tire of his crazy grinning mouth of sharp teeth. I mean, a rabbit with sharp teeth. Come on, how great is that?!
SMILEY BONE (Bone)
Think of him as Disney's Goofy if he had his hand on the ball. He's not the typical clueless near-do-well characters like him are usually played into, he (for the most part) knows what's going on. And is probably the most emotional-filled character in the series. That and he has some great lines through the fifty-five issue story.
DEADPOOL
There seems to be a rule throughout all Marvel Comics (but not Marvel video games -_-) that the merc with a mouth has to have only the funniest writers work on him. So you know a Deadpool series is going to be good. Deady is always entertaining and there's something about him that seems to make writers working on him strive to bring out their best. I can't think of a single comic book fan I've met who hated him. He's hard to hate. Plus, I think he's a character that has plenty of unused potential emotional and history-wise. He can be expanded on if a writer gives him the chance.
That's all for now.
Tiny Titans is….a crayon-ish drawn book that have the Titans well umm...do stuff. They mention Batman Returns in Issue #3.
So it's teletuby Teen Titans with an art style that makes Shin-chan look Godly?
It's Pretty Funny.
T=Tiny
T.Robin : So Speedy…Do you like, run fast?Is that why you're called Speedy?
T.Speedy : Um. No I shoot Trick Arrows.
...
...
T.Robin : So Can't Run fast?
...
T.Robin : So KidFlash Can you, like..
T.Kid Flash : YEP!!
I thought that was funny. Most likely pick this up now haha.
It also seems to refrence stuff that have happened in the older TT comics from what I've heard.
Oh yeah before I forget, if anyone wants Annihilation and Conquest, PM me and I'll hook ya up with it.
Send it to me.
Any whereabouts to get the Marvel Adventure Super Heroes Comic?
You mean the Marvel Adventure series?
EDIT: BTW I hear the Dark Tower comics are pretty good (they serve as prequels to the books)
Did anyone read the short series where the X-Men dealt with "X-Men kids"?
Kid Iceman: WHITE HAIR!
Kid Storm: White hair? HE CALLED ME WHITE HAIR!!!
@Freeman-12:

Yea those. do you know where I can get some?
I bought Wizard #200 today, which featured a list of the top 200 comic book characters of all time. How the fuck does Rorschach outrank Captain America? I mean, Captain America is an idol to even the strongest, bravest, and most noble of superheroes. He is the very definition of exisiting to inspire. Yet he comes n at number 7. I'm not saying he's number 1 (Wizard choose Wolverine for that, and the reasons why are kind WTFish. They treat him like he's Johnny Carson) but he deserves to be in the top 5.
Also, Iron Man movie director Jon Favreau will be releasing an Iron Man comic this week called Iron Man : Viva Las Vegas. Since I loved his work on the movie, I am going to look into it.
Yea those. do you know where I can get some?
Check your PM.
@AWB- Actually Rorschach is a patriot of sorts, it's hard to explain but you'll need to read the extra stuff that are shown AFTER the comic scenes finish.
Plus seeing as 'sadists' or 'non-cheerful' comic characters are more appealed to than the cheerful types.
I've read watchmen, and I've seen the "extra stuff". And I still say Cap is a much better character.
Captain America isn't a "cheerful" guy, at least not anymore. Check the last few issues of his series before he died. He was very serious.

Hmmm haven't been to the church of Bru in a while so might re-read those issues.
On other related news-
1- The Twelve is an awesome series
2- Mighty Avengers 13 comes out this week apparently
3- Captain America's predecessor from the MC2 universe is getting a new miniseries
So, what do you guys suggest?
That depends. Do you like the classical super heroes comics (which own the comics market in large parts, I think)? If so, do you like the modern stuff or may it be some oldschool? What else? Fantasy, adult entertainment (I mean in terms of complex, challenging stories, not with boobs), horror, trash?
First we should get more specific there, before I recommend the classical Amazing Spider-Man stories from the sixties, the entire ultimate universe or loose one-shots or mini series.
Nah only good Ultimate series ATM are Ultimate Spiderman and Fantastic 4 (yes F4).
Of the old ones, Ultimates Vol. 1 & 2 are pretty good. Don't bother with Vol. 3, we just use it to make funny jokes.

The entire Ultimate Spider-Man series (as far as I read it), the early Ultimate X-Men (The Tomorrow People, Return to Weapon X, Ultimate War) and The Ultimates are very good, I think.
Plus: Ultimate Iron Man > Classic Iron Man!
^BLAPHMESY! (sp?)
@Freeman-12:
^BLAPHMESY! (sp?)
Because of the Iron Man comment?
Seriously, I think the ultimate Iron Man armor is way cooler, because he looks kind of … kludgy. Also, the brain tumor attitude is somehow more realistic to me than the pacemaker argument to change a rake millionaire into a good Samatarian.
Of course, THIS is still the best Iron Man:
!
I love the sixties.
Question: how the puck did Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Raphael the Mutant Turtle, and Buffy the vampire slayer make it into the top 200 comic book characters of all time? Just because you appear in a comic doesn't make you a comic book character.
I love the description for Deadpool (who ranks number 182) on the list: He's his own "Mystery Science Theater" narrator. Brilliant.
