what!! bunny girls, im definitely going to watch it now!
About time.
I hope this series redeems itself.
It honestly looks gross, stupid and SUNRISE.
After hearing about how they cater to fan-polls and weird Japanese girl sexual fetishes, I could have immediately called in the first season (had I known) that the elite group known as the Knights of the Rounds would have a lot of teen snots on it. And sure enough, it does! With Gundam SEED voice actors to boot! Oh boy oh boy.
Let's not forget the basic premise of R2 is - RESET! Season I's events DIDN'T HAPPEN and we're going to have a blank slate. Wonderful, I guess it's true what they say - Sunrise had this show "just as planned" from the start, certainly no last minute script changes to make that stinky cow cake of a finale we saw last summer.
But then there's more! More fanservice! More incest! More yaoi! And more yaoi incest fanservice!
I can't wait!!
^wait Wait Wait Wait They Pulled Off A Spiderman-mephisto And Now We're Getting A Retelling Of The Damn Series Instead Of Continuing It?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!
I see nothing that mentions a reset.
I see nothing that mentions a reset.
That's because you have to read the 2channel/NewType spoilers to get the whole picture, there's barely anything valuable in that teaser trailer at all.
What we know:
1. Lelouch is not in control of Japan, Black Knights were defeated after season I. Everyone except Kallen, Larkshata, and Diethard is either dead or in prison.
2. Suzaku was promoted to Knight of the Round for his role in suppressing the rebellion.
3. Lelouch has no memory of his past, no Geass (contract broken by C.C.) and still attends Ashford Academy.
4. Goro Taniguchi himself has commented Lelouch will continue to lead a double life, only this time it'll be not just for Japan but the whole world.
…
That last one is the kicker, it's exactly the same stuff we got before with the first season. This (basically) spells a reset, a rehash of season I rather than a global Gundam-like conflict for season II.
^So wait it DOES continue after Season 1, but with Lelouch losing his memory after Suzaku shoots him and him (Lelouch) doing the whole 'I'ma destroy Britannia and let the world deal with it's own troubles and shit by itself' AGAIN.
Wow thanks for the anal Sunrise.
It takes place a year after season I, and it is basically a reset. It was fairly obvious from the train-wreck of a first season (though a high selling one) that the show would go down this route because there was no way for the writers to accommodate for the mounds of pig feces the piled up into a mountain.
Truly terrible but I'm going to watch it anyway. My big "fudge you" to Sunrise will to not buy any Geass products, make fun of the dub and bash BANDAI USA for being bigots.
In summary, Suzaku did shoot Lulu, Lulu looses memory, 1 year reset, still lives double life, but no Geass and so on and so on…
Sunrise better not disappoint me.
Fucking retarded, still I'll only watch the good mecha fights, lesbianism and the final eps. when Lelouch regains his memory and Geass.
EDIT: BTW can someone put up the link to where it states the events of Season 2? Wanna go disappoint some brainless animu idiots.
The thing I'd least want (aside from Suzaku becoming the main chararacter and romance playing a bigger role) was everything starting over from the beginning. But I suppose if things are done in a different way at a faster pace, and not merely a re-hash, it could still be pretty interesting.
@Daisuke:

Well it could still be good. I'm not exactly happy with this development, but still it could end up good. I just hope C.C. returns.
i really dont see how they could pull it off with him still having the geass…
its better this way...
The geass is basically what MADE the show. :(
R2 sounds lamer and lamer.
Also, I just figured out your avatar Ramza. I approve.
wait, so his geass was taken away. so, why didn't CC do that with the other guy who could mind read?
It's a plot hole CU.
…
And folks, pardon me for being captain obvious, but Lelouch gets a new Geass that has different, more powerful capabilities than the old one. The old one was taken away because it was too much of an inconvenience for the idiots at Sunrise who write this trash to work with. -_-
duh, I was pointing it out.
I'd like to see it though, before yaying or naying it.
My big "fudge you" to Sunrise will to not buy any Geass products, make fun of the dub and bash BANDAI USA for being bigots.
Yes, that will surely show them!
and oh yeah the dub is airing at about the same time, huh. I think Crispin Freeman plays Orange-kun.
The new character designs look absolutely god-awful (the Chinese asscrack and the loooong pink loli especially), but Geass's art style has always irked me DAMN YOU CLAMP AND YOUR BUG-EYED NOODLE PEOPLE
but Geass's art style has always irked me DAMN YOU CLAMP AND YOUR BUG-EYED NOODLE PEOPLE
and their long ass legs, their long ass legs.
One word.
ROLLO
…what the fuck?
Am I the only one who thinks of Rocko's Modern Life?
the Chinese asscrack
Haha, everyone remembers that. Feels like "NOTHING AT ALL…".
CLAMP's rumps look really weird, they're oblong and connect up to where the kidneys should be. o_O
I like clamps art style actually. :) please don't hate me.
I don't like CLAMP art style all that much because I like guy characters to actually look like guys. :P
they got guys that look like guys. just not a lot of main charicters. gotta give us girls fanservice too. ;)
how is making guys look like girls fanservice for girls
I don't really like most of CLAMP's stuff, but bleh, I'll give this season a chance. Geass started out pretty good and kind of went to shit later on, maybe this season will be better.
Not expecting it.

In Geass, the "guys who look like guys" weren't designed by CLAMP, they were designed by this other guy who updated CLAMP's work.
Toudou, Ougi, Tamaki, Dalton, Gilford, even the Emperor and Cornelia (?) have a vague CLAMP style but weren't done by them. Only the main characters and those of Ashford Academy are actual CLAMP drawn.
oh really. i didn't know. ok, well what about the main charicter in chobits. is he drawn by clamp? he wasn't a girly man to me.
@amaisingboo: your not a girl. you wouldn't get it. lol sorry, had to say that. men with feminine features are what's hot right now. especially in japan. Just look at all the young japanese guys in the media.
Some spoiler-full info coming.
! * Nina is still alive, works on R&D with Lloyd and Cecile under Schneizel.

! Ugh, I thought they'd do something right thing and kill her off. Guess I was wrong.

I agree with that, but I'm just saying CLAMP was only hired to design the main characters and all of the other designs were by Takahiro Kimura, who also edited CLAMP's work to some extent.
durrr Nina's season 2 desgin

- The first OP and ED are done by Orange Range.
- Viletta is a PE teacher at Ashford.
- "Black Rebellion" failed, most of the Black Knights incarcerated, Elevens now treated as nothing more than slave labour.
- E.U. have a mass-produced Knightmare called "Panzer Hummel".
- Remaining Black Knights currently lead by C.C. in Zero's absence.

…...and Lulu's got amnesia and is doing all the shit he did in Season 1 AGAIN but only better.
Oh yeah the lesbian's name is Nina, she had better have more hardcore lesbian scenes this time.
BTW from the CG thread: I still stand by my post that Mao could've been beneficial to the B. Knights.
i have a question. how exactly is CC's name pronounced? it never sounded like they were saying "C.C." Unless it's just japanese pronouncing or something.
IIRC they pronounce her name in the anime as 'C/Shee Tsu', dunno what Tsu means but maybe it means Double?
oh, double C. that makes sense.
Super gigantic R2 summary. (While some already discussed stuff is in there, there's also massive spoilers in there too)
Hmm, 5pm? Hope that doesn't affect anything in the story.
Why the heck does R2 make me want to have sympathy for the disgraced Japanese?
…and seriously where the hell did Lulu's brother come from? Other than the producer's ass?
Is he the brother from the father's side?
BRING BACK MAO

@Freeman-12:

Because…YOU'RE BRITANNIAN LOL!

I'd bet nine thousand and one cents(if I were a gamblin' man) it's V.V. in disguise.
VV must've drank gallon-loads of milk…..
who was VV again?
who was VV again?
Suzaku's little mini-CC except VV's a shota. Appears only in the last two or three episodes I think.
So….how was the first ep.?
About average. It started off really well, with a focus on Urabe (the least known of the Shiseiken) and literally a handful of Black Knights left, huddling in a blimp, gambling their last strike against Britannian on the "Hien Battle Plan 4" - they had a toast to Japan, as if they were expecting they were going to die. The whole sequence was pretty darn awesome, I must admit.
Then we got to a scene of Lelouch walking in Ashford Academy, with Villetta as the new P.E. teacher who chases after Vice President Lulu for skipping class. Another great scene.
After this, the episode descended into mediocrity. We had a shameless, dumb repeat of the first episode right down to the decisive chess match, terrorist attack, and execution of an arrogant Britannian strike force. Except, this version seemed much more cheesy than the first episode of Geass I's carnage.
IMO, Geass II needs to have stronger episodes for me to regain faith in the series direction. A reset already speaks loads about how Sunrise copes with poorly thought out plot-twists, this episode doesn't change my mind for better or worse.
Well after reading more impressions and such, I'm gonna wait till this thing finishes then watch it in its entirety.
@Freeman-12:

the first episode was epic. I don't want to get into to much detail with out spoiling you however it appears as if Lelouch loses his memories and some new ones are made up because their was some kid calling Lelouch his brother and stuff. Then towards the end Lelouch gets his memories and powers back. However the episode leaves you wanting more since they are still questions unanswered like what at the end of the 1st season. What happened to the chick with the exposlive suit where is his sister and who's this little kid calling lelouch his brother
^I thought we already established that he was added for Shota purposes and to replace Nunnally as one of the reasons Lulu wants to destroy Britannia?
@Freeman-12:

I didn't see that anywhere so they nunnally is no longer in the show?

Malcolm hasn't read any of the spoilers and is removed from the mainstream anime scene, that should be evident from the content of his posts enough.
I mean, the fact that he was so brief describing the episode on the basis of trying to avoid spoilers that I threw out only two posts earlier should already speak faxes about what he pays attention to.
